The new X84 livery looks very smart, the only negative is the huge lump of gold vinyl wrecking the view for passengers upstairs! Who comes up with these ideas?

Do we know time is or how many trips it will do if doing any? Not out today according to tweet from First. When can we expect to see it in traffic?

I much prefer the white, much more effective than the orange when viewed with the pink pulse branding.

So 12 Tridents are coming to Bramley, isn`t this a backward step for Leeds? Is this First punishing Leeds drivers for going on strike by bringing in old rolling stock from elsewhere whilst sending our newer buses to Norwich. Since the Leeds trolleybus scheme dewired we have seen decrepit B7`s appear from Rotherham on the A660, First are certainly "Transforming Travel in Leeds" !!!!! As we have at least 60 other b9s in leeds why does it really matter that 6 have gone to Norwich and as well as 2month old streetdecks also in leeds does it matter that a different variety of bus is coming to leeds, the average passenger doesn't care what bus it is as long as it turns up. My arguments are based on what First Leeds management promised us in 2014, "New Bus for West Yorkshire", whatever happened to that! where did our promised 200 new buses go, passengers do notice and deserve a ride in decent buses not tatty old bangers.

This bus looked great until the branding was applied, bit of a dogs dinner to be honest. Very odd choice of type face and application meaning most passengers will not read it properly. First are rather odd in that they specify a rigid corporate national image and then we have these rather amateur interventions with sign writing that spoil the effect.

Latest from Hunslet Park is 37083 &'32508 are nearly done with X63 branding applied, just the gold part of the livery to sort out. 37084 & 32505 have arrived to be done next. 69484 is nearly done in the new Halifax green front end variant of livery for the 590 service awaiting branding being sorted out & 30934 has arrived for repaint initially to go back to Bramley without skylines for a short time before being moved to Halifax. The livery that 69484 is in is being branded "Calder Connect" similar to the Huddersfield based Holme Valley Connection branding. I sincerely hope we`re not going to get a " Meltham Holme Valley Mark 2" series of rants with "Calder Connect" on here Love the livery, works really well.

The old "Leeds Overground" from 2001 with its colour coded routes would have afforded some great livery options with these painted fronts! Just as an example, route 33 was light green line, route 4 was olive green, route 6 was sky blue, route 1 was brown. Let`s ditch the awful "Pulse - No one has a clue what it means branding" and copy what Halifax is doing, failing that we should introduce a "Leeds City" livery!

These colour front ends are very attractive and vastly superior to the ghastly Pulse banding in Leeds.

This kind of action instigated by UNITE will do long term damage to First and could lead to many drivers losing their jobs, I speak from experience of being a UNITE member myself. Similar action in my industry, Printing, virtually wiped it out and they are not good at aftercare once your job has gone. A major public enquiry into the failure of NGT and Supertram in Leeds tells you that at some point Leeds will get a different transport system on the ground and this will impact on drivers jobs. The fact that First lied at a public enquiry on NGT saying it would buy 200 New Buses for West Yorkshire is going to come under scrutiny. The £173 million for an alternative transport system for Leeds is still there

Park and Ride trials? I think the streetcars would be ideal on the A660, a City Square to Holt Park 1B service would suit them.

First seem to be having problems across the country with strikes, I know Manchester and Dorset have suffered with industrial action. A 7 day strike would be a public relations disaster for both management and the drivers, I assume the 24th has been chosen to wreck the new service changes coming into affect on that day. We need Transdev or Arriva to register commercial services on the A660 and bring back the SuperTram project for this route.

This strike action is causing major problems for passengers and will cause major issues for First in Leeds if it continues. Relations between First and Metro have never been great and one wonders how a "Quality Partnership" will work after these strikes. We need to take back direct control of our bus services. None of that would stop strike action. Councils often are on strike, buses in London are often on strike. True, the point I`m making is that the Buses Bill will give Metro the option of a voluntary partnership with First or a quality contract system. First`s industrial relations problems are not endearing them to the travelling public or Metro.

My experience of Unite isn`t a happy one in the printing industry, indeed most of it shutdown last month. These strikes are causing great upset to the travelling public and giving ammunition to Metro to push through Quality Contracts.

The Enviro 400 MMC`s are going on the A660 corridor according to First later in the year.

I know First suggested this as an idea, I wonder what buses will run the park and ride instead?

All for scrap, all have had parts removed for the FTR's many months ago at Cherry. So we'll never see bendy's in Leeds again? I believe the FTR Streetcars are to be used on the new Temple Newsam Park and Ride service, so bendys won`t totally disappear. Leeds has had bendys for 17 years now ! First appeared in 1999.

Maybe we need to bury this Meltham/Holme Valley topic into a seperate thread now, it`s all getting a bit tiresome. Can we draw a line under this.

In view of the fact First can never keep a branded bus on the right route anyway does it really matter where Meltham is in relation to the Holme Valley! Do we know when our Leeds City Transport heritage livery is to appear?

Seems to be more buses around today, 2 came together this morning, a 6 and 1 and both were only a a quarter full. The danger with bus strikes is people find alternative means and stick with them. Good job we don`t have "UberHop" here, causing real problems in Toronto for the local bus operator.

I think many bus users on the A65 beyond Kirkstall Abbey will transfer to rail tomorrow and may stay with the trains to get to work.

The timing is bad when you consider Kirkstall Forge opens tomorrow, broken down electric units will add to the pressure. I expect the ongoing bus strikes plus water main works on the A65 will drive many people to park up at Kirkstall Forge and try to board already over crowded trains. I think Leeds to Bradford trains should stop there.

ALX400`s seem to have disappeared off Hunslet Park routes in Leeds in the last few days.

old bangers or not I'd rather have old bangers that run on time every time than a company that goes on strike because drivers are paid awful wages they should be called first sports direct never mind first Leeds I bet the managers aren't paid a pittance to sit in an office drinking coffee and counting the profits i totally agree with you, we need to get back to buses being run as a public service with drivers getting a proper wage.
