Somewhere in this forum are comments about the LCT liveried vehicle. If I recall correctly the problem lay with Leeds City Council and not with First. Leeds CT were hesitating over a dcision to allow the use of the city crest on the side of the bus. If vynals have been ordered can it be assumed that the problem has been solved.

Last I heard was that nothing would happen until the vinyl's arrive The vinyls have been ordered That's good news, let's hope a fresh LCT livery it's applied to a Bramley bus. As Hunslet already have their 2. I nominate 37688 looks like it needs a repaint and refresh, I saw some filler on the top rear of it, on a Sunday 50 a few weeks back. And I hope it's good as MCW Metrobus 7575 because I remember that seeing that bus in those colours on the roundhay road routes and the 56 in the 90s. I'm too young to remember The official LCT livery, as I was born a few years after deregulation.

It's a magenta & yellow version of the MyBus livery being applied to all the Metro MyBus Condor 220 & 225s on the BMC 1100FE School buses in Halifax because they are owned by First Bus.

Latest repaints at Hunslet Park are 37053 Halifax skylines and 37291 & 37293 in base livery for Holmfirth Connection which is similar to the Zest livery with slight modifications but the front is red not orange. I believe 12 are being done for Huddersfield.

Interesting that the photos show the vehicles in the livery style now being used extensively in the Potteries/Leicester/ Bristol etc. Notice that the new Vehicles from Wrights retain the old style of livery. Anyone able to clarify what the policy is now?

Anyone able to clarify what the policy is now? So if First decide to paint buses at Bradford & Leeds in this style will the fronts be Blue for Bradford & Green for Leeds

The new buses aren’t in the old livery, they’re in the standard livery. The refreshed livery introduced in 2012 has a standard template which is basically the normal livery, however there is a certain degree of flexibility for local areas to modify and customise the livery to prominently show town and city names or route specific identities where this is deemed appropriate – this fits with the group’s desire to provide local services for local communities.
That's why we now have the Orange line 503's in Halifax and the new Holmfirth Connections. Another example are the Sheffield Streetdecks which have a modified version of the ‘express’ livery which uses silver as a nod to Sheffield’s steel heritage.
The standard livery works best for a city like Leeds, that’s not to say there won’t be any variations in the future as new initiatives are always on the agenda!

Appreciate the correction and the feedback. With the new vehicles being in the 'standard livery' would I be correct in assuming the livery mentioned in the locations of Stoke etc. which has a different stylised back end, similar but not to the standard template to which you refer, is a customised local livery even though it is becoming the standard for those locations albeit with a different coloured front for different routes? Hope that question makes sense!

The situation in Stoke came about when then new MD Nigel Eggleton was brought in to help turn things around, in 2014 their patronage had slumped. The new image was just part of a wider range of initiatives to improve the business and the Stoke variation was designed by Ray Stenning of Best Impressions but working within the First brand, hence the Cherry route 3 (I think) and the later raspberry version.
Each Opco will decide what's best for their region.

And considering Leeds removed their route branding in favour of the generic Pulse branding, it seems route specific liveries are not liked by Leeds management. In fact they've rarely embraced route branding for very long in Leeds.

Indeed, although initiatives come and go over time with changes of management. The Pulse initiative was introduced on the back of a total increase in customer numbers of around 3.2% across the Leeds network during the period Apr '14 - Mar '15 and was intended to bring together high frequency, network connectivity and good value into one simple brand. Personally I would still prefer individual route branding but it would have to be on the same scale as say Reading Buses where it's taken seriously and people genuinely identify their bus by the colour coding and 'wrong bus on the wrong route' only happens very infrequently. To be fair to the team at Leeds during the latter route branding period by and large buses were correctly allocated, it was usually when a bus had been required for servicing etc and released to traffic dept later the same day that a misallocation occurred but it was those odd allocations that are quickly picked up by for example people on this forum. Sunday was a day when there was more chance of a routine misallocation mainly due to the positioning of buses within the depot.
