Hi all
Understand it was announced late yesterday that First West Yorkshire Leeds based divers (Hunslet & Bramley garages) will be on strike Monday June 13th 2016 for a 24 hour period meaning no bus services will operated unless they can find managers with the DCPC licences so to operate a limited service. The strike is over a very poor pay award by management and so unless management change the offer massively the strike will happen.
Services operated from Bradford & Halifax depots are unaffected.
Watch this space! as its not been confirmed by either First or Metro yet.

well they've only got this week to find a solution. A bit bad the strike is on the day they take on Tiger Leeds runs. That won't be a coincidence. Arriva and Transdev only provide very limited coverage on First corridors and in Transdev's case the 508 & 670 won't be effected anyway.

If this is the case, Arriva and Transdev are going to make masses on that day! The last time a major strike happened I think it was 2007. And I remember the 2006 strike. Limited services and Geldards running extra journeys on 1,2,4 and 12.

Metro have just tweeted this, although doesn't mention Monday 13 June, just tomorrow (6 June).

Metro have just tweeted this, although doesn't mention Monday 13 June, just tomorrow (6 June). I tweeted them after seeing this saying as far as I was aware the strike is on 13/6 not 6/6. They replied saying I was correct but the matter could be resolved before then...

Transdev could carry additional passengers between Seacroft-Leeds on Coastliner and 770/771 and potentially Moortown-Leeds on 36

I was in the pub on Sunday with a mate who works at Hunslet and he said they'd been offered 1% yet they make up the bulk of the profit in Yorkshire and thought they deserved more

Typical lack of knowledge on the FWY Twitter feed, telling a customer that the X11 will be effected.
All journeys on the X11 are run by First Bradford.

Reported on First's website now. Says that there's a meeting with ACAS scheduled for tomorrow (8 June) to try and resolve the dispute. Website says that the strike only gained support from less than half of employees involved and, as mentioned above, the rejected offer was an above-inflation offer of 4% for 2 years, with some offered up to 5%. Only mentioned on First's Leeds website. No mention on the Bradford website despite the 72 possibly being affected by the strike. Having been affected by the strikes from First Greater Manchester a couple of weeks ago, I would imagine Leeds will see some serious disruption and inconvenience for passengers. Perhaps Metro could do what TfGM did then and allow passengers with First and Metro tickets to use certain Northern rail routes that run along affected areas. Should imagine there'll be a skeleton service on some First routes between 0700 and 1900 too. No doubt that Transdev and Arriva will get extra revenue from some of their services in to Leeds. The strike would also means that the routes gained from Yorkshire Tiger (59, 60A, 61/61A, 63) may not run on its first day. www.firstgroup.com/leeds/news-and-service-updates/news/unite-announce-strike-first-leeds-bus-services-despite-above

A revised offer has been made by the company, and the union will report back to its members tomorrow evening.
Depending on the outcome the strike will therefore be either suspended or will go ahead.

The strike on Monday WILL go ahead as Unite members have rejected the revised offer.

According to First Leeds management the offer was 3%. I can think of a number of people in this country that would absolutely welcome a wage increase of 3%. Emergency services staff and nurses to name a few
