According to this month's buses mag, First West Yorkshire are getting 39 new double deckers and 11 saloons. For Leeds I would presume

Printing error or not, First Leeds are due some new rolling stock. quite a few buses need to go this year. The artics have to go in November, possibly due to DDA compliance new rules.

Yes Leeds does need new buses but so do Bradford Halifax and Huddersfield. Travel on one of Huddersfield "R" plated deckers in winter and try to find somewhere to sit where there is no draft. 50 new buses are not going to solve the problem in West Yorkshire.

If you want 300 *new* buses all the same make in West Yorkshire with no variety.. So all enviros or all volvos.. Only thing first going to order are 50 new enviros meaning majority of buses will be all the same at least the royales in Huddersfield add a bit of variety

I'd prefer a Royale than any leather seated bus in the winter! I don't think huddersfield has much hope of getting new deckers anytime soon, best thing we can hope for is Gemini's from leeds (or Halifax if 503 gets B9TLs)

I said I prefer royales to the leather seated stuff first now buy (i'd rather deal with a little draft than sitting on what can feel like an ice block) Were did I say I hoped hudds get more B7s? I said it's the best we can hope for, lets face it,as I said in my first post hudds isn't top priority for new deckers and realistically the royales have got to go within the next 3 years? So i'd rather have geminis moved in (B9s even better) as at least they have a decent (by first standards) interior and I personally prefer the ride quality over Enviro 400s

A thought - as First no longer have any London operations there are no five year old vehicles to cascade to the regions when TFL contracts are lost or the renewal of the contract requires new vehicles. I would think that this must cause problems with vehicle replacement in the regions.

Could be good news for West Yorkshire and maybe Leeds in particular, could Leeds take more new ones and cascade their older ones to other regions rather than other parts of West Yorkshire, Halifax in particular.......................................

West Yorkshire have never been a major recipient of ex London stock anyway, so it shouldn't make much difference

I can now confirm that Bradford are to recieve 12 Wright Streetlites.
Management are currently asking for suggestions of names to put on them.

Please, please, please let it be the B7L's, I had hoped the fact that these remained unpainted was a sign they may be on their way out until that hope was dashed with others recently joining 60877 in new colours. I'm lucky enough to have a choice of routes home from Bradford and actually choose my route home depending on which service does not throw one of these my way. In reality though I reckon it will be some of the B10BLE's which, although being much more comfortable and it appears to me to have much better performance, are starting to sound a little rough. Still eleven B7L's and 12 new buses, I can still hope!

If this is the case it will leave 12 B10s. Does anyone think streetlites will receive guide wheels as currently there's still 8 B10S with guide wheels.

Not sure what they'll ultimately replace, but they are due for the Yellow Line. 621 Haworth Road to Bradford and Bierley

Think Halifax & Hudds should go on strike if that is what it takes to get some more new buses ordered.
