Route 19/19A in Leeds is single-deck operated, mainly by elderly Scania`s from 1998 which are to be withdrawn. The guideway routes are being upgraded with new buses so the 19 is an ideal candidate.

The 11 Volvo B7RLE buses for Bramley are to takeover route 19/19A which uses the east Leeds guideways, this will lead to the scrapping of the guided Scania`s.

We used to have a regular 747 service to Toronto, of course Concorde as well. Great to see bigger planes coming back! My concern with the airport is the other stuff such as the logistics of getting everyone to and from the plane, baggage handling etc.

The 100 new buses last year obviously passed you by. People keep saying they've "heard", where are they hearing this stuff. Isn't the street lite a small Solo type bus, of which there are next to none in Leeds? I can`t comment on the type of bus coming this year to Leeds but as far as numbers go, it was First Leeds themselves who announced 200 new buses in 18 months. If you go back to the March/April of last year there was an interview with Oliver Howarth in the YEP in which he quotes that figure. The interview was tied in with the launch of the new Leeds identity and better buses for life. Anyway we shall see in the course of time what happens! Those old Scania`s won`t last forever!

It was First Leeds themselves that announced 200 new buses for Leeds last spring to be delivered over 18 months.

You would think that the spare Streetcars could be used on route 1 rather than dumped at Cherry Row, they would be ideal with a conductor on Otley Road.

It was announced last summer that Leeds would be getting 200 new buses over the period 2012/13.

Rumour has it routes 19/19a are to be moved from Bramley to Hunslet Park, this will free up space for the remaining 8 streetcars at Cherry Row to move back.

Boddington Hall is due to close within weeks, route 95 performs a useful role between the Ring Road and the University so there is no real reason to withdraw the service, if they did I`m sure Centrebus would launch their own replacement!

As a regular user of FlyBE on the Leeds to Southampton route, generally they are pretty good. However when things go wrong they are very poor at communicating with their passengers! My Leeds to Southampton journey on Dec 13th took me 12 hours!

When a bus goes to Cherry Row its usually condemned, becoming a bendybus graveyard.

I believe 100 B9TL`s are due for Leeds in 2013 so we shall see where they end up, the Arriva guided buses for York Road are supposed to be new hybrids shortly, that will up the pressure on First. The Leeds Scania`s were fine when new but now look careworn and rather sad.

The York Road guideway is now a poor relation to the A61 guideway with clapped out 15 year old Scania`s on route 19, elite it is not!

I noticed a single decker in Leeds wearing the new livery on route 5, first one I`ve seen. I wonder where they will position the Leeds name. Looked very smart.

To be honest, do passengers know or really care what the branding is! All that information twenty feet above the ground will pass most passengers by! The overground branding seemed like a good idea back in 2001 but as ever with First it pretty much died a death.

There was a serious pile up on Eastgate roundabout yesterday afternoon. The silly traffic light phasing doesn`t suit artics. I noticed last week that one streetcar used the bus station to turn around in rather than go all the way around the roundabout.I can see changes to the Leeds terminal point coming soon. It will be interesting to see how articulated trolleybuses cope on Eastgate.

It was interesting standing in City Square for 20 minutes yesterday and seeing the contrasts in the First Leeds vehicles, from 12 plate Gemini`s to a surprisingly large number of old neglected Scania`s and old Olympians that were literally falling to pieces. Route 16 has now replaced the 4 for "Heritage" operation, why is this?
