When I was at ExCel yesterday, the security guard said that the new Volvo B9TLs "will be in Leeds before long anyway". This could point the way for them to convert route 4 and oust some earlier double-deckers. According to this article, the StreetCars are to convert route 72 "at the end of October". If they were guaranteed in service by Saturday October 27th (the day before the clocks go back) I'd enjoy coming to Leeds then. Alas I fear they will enter service just 1 day later. www.busandcoach.com/newspage.aspx?id=7002&categoryid=0

I have heard that Geminis for Halifax and Leeds are on their way up on Wednesday.... New Allocations are soon to be introduced in Halifax, and Manchester.
Darts / Alexander Royales > Volvo B7RLE - Wright Eclipse Urbans > Volvo B7TL - Wright Eclipse Geminis > Repainted / Branded Gemini's (each displaced to the right)

I heard from a source at Hunslet Park, Leeds were destined to get Enviro 400's. The Geminis are going to Manchester.

(Source from Halifax Depot) I'm led to believe the Games buses will be distributed as follows 100 Gemini's to West Yorkshire 9 Enviro's to West Country (resuming the Plymouth P&R work) 91 Enviro's to Greater Manchester The refurbished Tridents to South Yorkshire

Think it's Wigan and Bolton depots destined to get those Enviro 400's. Was a wild guess.
allocation should have been half and half, would have been good to see some first enviro 400s in leeds.

Would make sense to go there to replace the arrows Enviros to Bolton to take over ex-Gemini operated routes with high timetable frequency. Then the old Eclipse routes get the old Geminis which lets the Eclipses take over Dart operations.

Have heard a similar number of vehicles are also been displaced to South Yorkshire once the 100 new vehicles arrive and they include a mixture of B7TL/ALX400s, B7TL/Geminis and B9TL/Geminis.
Any details on what these vehicle movements may involve?

If they are going on the 301/302 Golcar circulars, they should have ordered the Max version instead.

A couple of days ago, I was on a Pointer SLF Dart, a 15 year old example. It broke down in Huddersfield.
A wish list, no more small buses because they cannot cope with the hills in Huddersfield so therefore Eclipses are required plus a few Geminis.

I am coming to Leeds on the August Bank Holiday, to ride mainly some Sunday route variations and a few new buses. I accept it is unlikely any post-Olympics buses will be there by then.

Isn't 37103 already at Olive Grove? If this posting is correct then Leeds are to get 57 of the 100. Finally, did anybody find out the destination of 66708 reported as heading for Manchester the other day, could that be one of that batch 66700-6 to go west, making 58/9 presuming 7 goes as well?

37103 is not at OG, although 37103-37122 are destined for Sheffield along with 37021-37035 and B7TL/ALXs 30846/861/862/938/939 and another 4 unknown B7TL/ALX400s are to go to Rotherham. These should displace Dart/Marshalls 41780-41788 BLEs 60798-60860 and B7TL/ALXs 30575-30578/875/876 to Rotherham. Movements expected to commence 22/23 Sept for introduction of Octobers major service revisions in Sheffield.
