There is a photo on the First West Yorkshire twitter account, also a timetable will appear on there of when and where it will be used, it appears to be going on a West Yorkshire tour

It`s worth remembering why it`s actually here in the first place, First Leeds have proposed the "New Routemster" as an alternative to trolleybuses on the A660. The public enquiry will run until October so First want to show this bus off on the route NGT is proposed for. It is highly unlikely to operate outside Leeds, I am highly sceptical of this type of bus ever running in huge numbers in Leeds.

They do seem to shift along a bit in London for their size, Beeston Hill will be interesting. It might just do short workings between The city and Holt Park.

Joking aside, my original source of information came from the top in First. Keep your eyes peeled its on its way

It was brought up at a meeting I attended back in March, it was stated that it wouldn`t appear in the normal timetable but would do one off extra trips. Look forward to seeing it, running it during "Le Tour Yorkshire" would gain First a lot of P/R!!!!!

It mentions low emission buses for this route, hybrids? The buses on order are standard Enviro 400`s are they not.

Do we know why First have made no attempt to paint buses into heritage livery for 40th anniversary of Metro and yet have done loads in Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire? Doesn`t bode well for a quality partnership agreement

It possibly might be, I think First will want it on the road during the NGT Public Enquiry which starts on the 29th April and runs for a month.

It certainly will! It`s all to do with the First alternative to the trolleybus proposal, not sure whether it will carry a special green Leeds livery or run in London red.

Look out for a "Borismaster" on loan at Hunslet Park shortly, will be used as a demonstator and odd journeys on route 1.

Just seen proposals for another Park and Ride site at Cross Green, just off the M1. Another contract for First?

Will Leeds be getting any of these saloons to replace the clapped out scania`s? I believe 11 were earmarked for guideway routes.

The new "Squashed B5" Gemini is an absolute dog of a design. Talk about turning a "beauty into an ugly duckling".Wright`s have really shot themselves in the foot there!

It`s about time First cut its fares in Leeds.Far from having NGT forced on us by Metro, many of us in Headingley are looking forward to the trolleybuses actually coming. Contrary to the myth spread by the "anti -NGT" lobby, trolleybuses were the chosen transport type during the 2008 consultation.

Do we know when it is due to enter service? Will be interesting to see an FTR on Otley Road, having a conductor will be a real bonus on this route.

FWY are missing a trick here, would be a great public relations excercise for them! I loved the Yorkshire Rider "Building on a Great Tradition" series, they looked fantastic.

Certain irony that brand new buses languish in Bradford Depot whilst passengers in Leeds endure ancient clapped out Scania`s on the "Elite" guideway services, I think quality contracts just drew a bit closer.....

Noticed today a repainted Scania saloon on the 28 with a scaled down "Leeds" picture fleetname on the cove panels. This is the first example I have seen in Leeds, looks nice.

First are playing a dangerous game sending clapped out old bangers to West Yorkshire with Metro looking at quality contracts! Especially as Nexus Tyne and Wear have set a precedent of going down that route. The present situation makes a mockery of Giles Fearnley and his "better buses for life"!!!! At least they got the "Life" bit right! First are a laughing stock in bus industry circles. Standing outside the Corn Exchange on Wednesday highlighted the opposite ends of First`s spectrum, convoys of gleaming B9`s on Middleton to Roundhay routes and derelict 15 year old Scania`s on the 5/19 routes. I think quality contracts have edged a bit closer!

Is there an agenda here with all theses buses going for scrap, is Cherry Row to be sold off or reopened as an operational garage? Are there any photo`s anywhere of the bendys at PVS?

The streetcars certainly would not use the guideways, they were tried on the east Leeds guideway and the vehicle was damaged, the outswing plug doors were broken along with some of the lower panels. The general impression is that Hyperlink has been a success, no moaning in the local press from irate passengers and motorists unlike route 4. Artics do a good job on the right route, like they always did on route 1 and still do.

No they were not, it was proposed at the time but didn`t happen. The new engines will make a real difference!

Good to see them getting new engines! They are seriously under-powered at present.I think it is fair to say that Hyperlink has suited their operation much better than on route 4.

Route 19/19A in Leeds is single-deck operated, mainly by elderly Scania`s from 1998 which are to be withdrawn. The guideway routes are being upgraded with new buses so the 19 is an ideal candidate.
