Any idea of date/dates for the full out strike yet??? Wouldnt surprise me if its in the nxt fortnight with schools/colleges/unis shutting for summer hols. Any decision on a possible strike will probably be announced after a union meeting due to be held later this week, Thursday I believe.

Apparently huddersfield has got 30562 but i havent seen it. Is it true? Seen 37033 on 324 route but on livery. This is mentioned/answered in the fleet changes thread. Think all this should just be kept under that thread so it's easier to keep up with otherwise the same info/questions get asked in two separate threads.

Yes that's correct, they will need to be off mainline service by 31/12/16. However, First have a plan to have them off before that time.

Not been mentioned on here yet that the Cardinal Heenan school service CH21 has been worked by a CT Plus vehicle since 13/06/16, usually all white President/B7TL X163FBB. In fact I wasn't aware it was owned by CT Plus 'til this week when it appeared with full fleet names and logo.
This service was run by Tiger until they started to encounter problems around May time at which point the service started to be run by Connextions using Scania N414ENW until 10/06/16. Connextions are still doing the CH27 and N414ENW was doing that service today.

Tbh strikes nowadays are nowhere near as effective as they once were. I remember the near 6 week bus strike in Leeds in 1978, yep that was 6 whole weeks with no buses whatsoever, the PTE buses from Bradford, Halifax etc would terminate at the Leeds boundary and return to their home town/city. Picket lines were at other strategic locations such as Thwaite Gate so even West Riding wouldn't go any further into the city centre. Think only West Yorkshire RCC were the only Company to venture into Leeds centre for that 6 week period.
Now that's what you call a strike!

Just been passed on Bolton Rd by a plain white ADL400 with Dewhirst signs in the window, how long have they had this? The Enviro is SN16ORW and was new in June. The Citybus F682FWX was seen hurtling along the Moortown Ring Road in Leeds around 2 weeks ago still in Dewhirst livery but no fleetnames. The Citybus was in the usual Dewhirst high standard of turn out so was difficult to tell whether it had just had the fleetnames removed prior to sale or if it had actually been repainted and was just awaiting fleetnames! Unfortunately I couldn't manage to see it's legals. Of course, at getting on for 27 years old you'd be probably right to bet it's been sold but until confirmed I don't state categorically that it has. Still looked and sounded in fine fettle though!

Mondays 6 hour strike isn't as straight forward as it might appear.
First won't be accepting partial performance by a driver on the day so if a driver who's shift starts between 04:00 - 10:00 chooses to strike then they won't be allowed to resume work at 10am. Drivers are being invited to work their FULL shift on Monday if they wish. Anybody who's shift starts after 10am will of course be expected to work as normal.

Without searching through all the post on here, just heard from a friend (who works for MyBus Wakefield) that LOT have picked up a school contract in the South Elmsall area. Is that more dead mileage or it that the one that is interworked with the 197 Hemsworth-Ryhill-Newstead shuttles ? Penfold That'll be a lot of children late for school then, when they have their " vehicle breakdown issues " !!!!! We can do well without your nonsensical posts thank you!

Have to agree that there does appear to be a certain amount of 'witchunting' going on here, probably because the operator doesn't run the type of bus THEY prefer. Whilst I'm not condoning LOTs failure to operate the 711 I do think the amount of 'hullaballoo' on here is way OTT. I think the fact it went from Geldards to Tiger then LOT in a short space of time proves it wasn't really a required service, I'm just suprised it wasn't 'pulled' earlier. They use bread vans for buses, they cancel services ( 711 ) cos they are losing money on it, then make out its due to breakdowns, yet it was them who wanted to run it, just an overall amateur bus(van) firm if you ask me They don't operate bread vans for buses, the fleet is mainly Primos, Solos and one (I think) VW Transporter and I suspect this is the crux of why people come out with comments such as yours, it's the fact they don't like Primos so will resort to childish 'slagging off' in order to rubbish the operator. While Plaxton Primos aren't everyones cup of tea, I'm actually not a great fan but they do the job, people need to realise that buses of that size suit certain operators, it's horses for courses, most of their services don't require anything bigger. Certainly when I've caught the 781 a couple of times I don't see the other passengers boarding and saying "Oh god it's a Primo", only enthusiasts would make such a comment. People choose to be enthusiasts for whatever reason, which is fine, but it doesn't entitle the said person to become an armchair critic of the type of bus an operator chooses to use unless of course they have good reason to show why they aren't suitable. Because ultimately that's what I think all this is about, it's the fact some people don't like small buses and so go 'on and on' about it, the negativity in this thread started before the 711 issue. Incidentally, the whole 711 thing is getting tiresome, as I've said earlier it's obviously a service that's not necessary - this was Tigers reason for withdrawing it, taken from their website: Service 711 - Unfortunately, due to insufficient passenger use on this service, Yorkshire Tiger will be withdrawing this service in its entirety, with the last day of service being Saturday 20th February 2016. Metro are currently looking at the passenger information that we have provided to them and speaking to other bus operators who may wish to reinstate some or all of the journeys

Best one yet, the Keighley and District Loan Renown was on the Harrogate 770. Saw the Keighley bus turn from Coal Road to Ring Road in Seacroft. Last time a Keighley bus was up here it was when the Leeds - Wetherby 770 used to be the 760 Keighley - Leeds - Wetherby service. 1065 and do you know what, when the bus pulled up to the stop in New Briggate nobody flinched or gave it a second glance, they just got on. This proves a point of mine I've held for many years that as long as the destination is clear then Joe public couldn't care less what colour it is, even when it's a short cream single decker covered in pink love hearts.

If it's costing you your business then yes, really though Metro should never have approached LOT to run it, I can't honestly see why LOT took it on unless they were presented with historically high passenger numbers and not more up to date figures, although having said that LOT should have done a bit of homework themselves just to make sure the figures are right, a couple of days (1 mid week, 1 Saturday) stood in the Interchange watching all 711 arrivals and departures would have been enough. If it is making such a loss then that is their own fault. If the 711 not running is them just not sending the bus out and saying it's knackered, they should face the consequences. The rules for registering and withdrawing services are in place for a reason. All i can say is, if someone at Metro is paying attention to this situation, LOT will struggle to win new tenders. Not according to this paragraph which is taken from a recent article about this interesting (to me) business. Link to article at the bottom. Jeanette speaks very highly of Metro, saying, ‘They are an absolutely fantastic organisation. They have given us so much help and advice, everyone has been amazing. They even helped us with our BSOG grant and when they introduced a new system they set it all up and explained how it all worked.’ This system is the Ticketer tracking system, which is linked in to Metro and shows where all her vehicles are at any one time as well as highlighting poor driving through excessive idling. She is extremely proud of the fact that they haven’t gained any ‘penalty points’ saying, ‘We’re zero all the way.’ She describes her relationship with Metro as ‘superb’, she said, ‘We do a good job for them. We never miss trips, we’ve been late sometimes but that’s unavoidable.’ She added, ‘We get loads of good feedback from our customers and we never get complaints. A driver from another operator made a complaint once though that one of our driver’s was TOO friendly! www.busandcoachbuyer.com/lot-transport/

30856 seen on K4 today in Huddersfield, 30924 spotted on K4 today too. 2 new transfers or are they on loan? 30924 will be permanent. It roars like a lion too, you hear it a good minute or two before you see it, particularly when it's trundling around a housing estate in the otherwise quiet of an evening!

The buses in this fleet have now all been attributed names following a competition among pupils: www.gsal.org.uk/name-a-bus-competition-drives-pupils-creativity/From my observations today I have so far attributed the following names to vehicles: KX08HLR Daisy BF16XPL Rosie LT02ZZU Petal KV02URM Gertie This last Trident must be a recent acquisition, last time I saw it it was on loan to Tiger a couple of month back.

According to post on FirstBus Enthusiasts Facebook page, 2 B9s 36181 & 36183 are leaving Leeds for Eastern Counties. On the Facebook page it mentions 36181 - 36201 leaving for Eastern Counties. Hunslet are due 7 Enviro 400MMC and 7 E400MMC flywheels soon Some have already departed, think 36181/185 went to Norwich today. Think 22 are leaving, apparently to be split between Norwich & Great Yarmouth.
