Those small windows do make the bus look claustrophobic when fully loaded like that. Could be struggling to see out of the Hunslet ones soon as they're about to receive Pulse branding. Apparently the bit on the near and offside is going to be applied to the roof cove panels so at least vision from the side won't be affected.

The Streetdecks are going to be receiving Pulse branding anytime now.

The First Connexion definately We now have ancient ex- First Scania`s on the 38 only painted in green! Bring on Quality Contracts. Echoes of 1986 here when old bangers run by any Tom thingy or Harry flooded our routes. No different to the 'First' V reg Scanias which used to be used on 38 fairly frequently and which can still be seen almost daily on the 91.

Connextions' first day offerings on 38 are L94's V587DVF & V125DND. First time i've actually seen V587 in use, think it was only painted fairly recently.

Of course it will really meaningful on the 8, 13, 38, Otley local services, etc. Yes that's true, maybe that was the reasoning behind introducing the Connextions name in the first place, to have a more generic sounding title which makes more sense for a bus being used on (for example) Seacroft-Horsforth. Anyway I don't know how many have got "THE Harrogate Bus Company" name, I've only seen one so far, maybe only a few will receive it and stay on Harrogate routes? We haven't seen a green Connextions bus on the 8 very much in recent times, the two usual buses are the 53 plate all red Omnicity and the all white Solar YN05GXB. It's about a year now since GXA/C/D/E were painted into fleet colours.

You're probably right tlt, I was pulling onto stand alongside it, at the time I noticed it. Thanks for correction, I'm not too good on First fleetnumbers Interesting but I'm intrigued because 30800 is a Royale Olympian and 30860 is an ALX400.?

The last ever Tiger working on 38 to arrive at Moortown 18:06 was performed by Tiger Blue Cadet 623. Didn't see what was on the other duty.

Bradford Heritage Bus 37732 on 576 today makes a nice to see it on anything other than the 640/641. Three Stagecoach MAN single deckers heading North on the A1M this morning between Ferrybridge and Hook Moor It was also on 670 a couple of days ago, Thurs I think it was when I saw it in Leeds.

Scania L94 S574TPW appears to have had "THE Harrogate Bus Company" added on the nearside above the entrance.

I think the thing which really irritates me is the fact this wage rise (once it goes through) will somehow be added to fares, the shareholders should take a hit, after all they have more money than your average working man who has to pay out, pay out and pay out some more! The other thing what I'd like to point out is why do Leeds drivers think they deserve a big rise just because Leeds happens to be a heavily populated, very profitable place with few bus companies meaning First take most of the passengers? It's not as if drivers have worked hard to fend off many competitors. Do we know that's why Leeds bus drivers have decided they deserve a rise? Union comment: Describing the action as the ‘last resort’, their union, Unite, blamed First Bus management’s unwillingness to find a negotiated solution in talks at the conciliation service Acas. "First Bus made an £11 million profit from its services in Leeds last year while senior managers enjoyed in some cases a five per cent rise in pay and bonuses. Meanwhile the bus workers are being offered a rise of just 16 pence an hour for this year and 20 pence for next year. The bus workers operating out of the Bramley and Hunslet Park depots in Leeds are among the lowest paid in First Bus’s Yorkshire operations with colleagues in Halifax earning up to £2 an hour more." - See more at: www.unitetheunion.org/news/leeds-bus-workers-set-to-strike-over-pitiful-pay-offer/#sthash.EAGAqjcw.dpuf

Seem to be seeing different buses operating out of Waterloo on an almost daily basis now. Not complaining mind, it keeps things interesting, even if a tad confusing. Noted earlier this morning at Waterloo were the "wrapped" Leeds Gemini, the Heart FM Olympus and a LWB Tempo (771?). A wrecker truck was also in attendance when i passed later, looked to be hitching up to the ELC Myllenium that's been littering the place for ages. Seen later in Mirfield was K-Line liveried Cadet 625 on YT's 262. Interesting that the Radio Aire Gemini was at Waterloo this morning, by mid afternoon it was on the 61 in Leeds. Must have been a sudden requirement for it!

It'll probably settle down after Friday with just the Versas, Flying Tiger Omnicitys and Cadets remaining at Idle.

It will be quite refreshing having Connexions run a local route in Leeds, namely route 38. The fact that it is Mon-Sat only prepares me not to try it in the likely event that I come to Bradford on the August Bank Holiday. Indeed it will but don't forget they've been running another local Leeds route the Ring Road service 8 Mon-Fri daytime since July 2013.

What DDA modifications need to be made to the ALX400s? The PSVAR2000 legislation covers: Dimensions and requirement of wheelchair space Ramp, ramp angles and Kneeling Priority Seats Route and Destination Displays. The ALX's which have been upgraded had the following modifications: A seat was removed from the first row behind the stairs, with the remaining one turned 90 degrees to become inward facing. This was to enable a wheelchair to shunt comfortably into the bay on the nearside. The wheelchair ramp was also replaced. New lino fitted. Bus stop bell pushes were replaced with new ones containing braille. Bus stopping signs were replaced with new ones which have to be lower case. Some handpoles were replaced to comply with 45mm knuckle clearance to allow for swollen hands, the legislation doesn't just cover wheelchair users. Treads on the steps were replaced. Destination displays need to be at the front & side with a route number at the back and need to comply with the legislation which requires the characters at the front to be 125mm and at the sides 70mm. As a result new Hanover destinations were fitted all round which comply. For anybody interested in the complete legislation there's a document somewhere on the web which lays it all out but I can't find it just now. Search on PSVAR2000 and it'll be there somewhere. I also find it a good cure for insomnia!

Is it true that the early alx400's are being withdrawn and is 66168 still in Huddersfield? Any ALX's in the 30847-865 group which haven't been upgraded with DDA mods will have to come off normal use by the end of the year. They could still be used on school work from next year if they're still around. 66168 returned to Rotherham mid to late May.

Does anybody know what's going off with lot at the moment as the 711s not turning up anywhere even on a 2 hour timetable as I have been waiting for a good 4o mins on the right side of the time table at the ring ways and 50 mins at pudsey as well as not 1 lot bus haven't been going through pudsey all together Looking at their Twitter feed over the past week there's a few instances of them saying the 711 will only be running every 2 hours. No mention about today though but might be 2 hourly again.

I passed a gem2 on the 12 today devoid of any pulse branding. It was nice to see one in all its glory again, rather than caked in tacky pulse branding. That'll have been 36245, apart from the Park & Rides this was the only Gemini2 which didn't receive Pulse due to it being away with accident damage at the time of the branding roll out. A few others have now lost various 'bits' of the branding due to replacement windows etc.
