there are no more transfers from Bury going to happen at the moment as Bury are short of buses and with sale of First Devon to Stagecoach frees up buses from there Not much worth cascading from the Devon operation. Still a lot of older end stuff running there. Correct, as far as deckers go a bunch of 10 to 16 year old tridents apart from three Enviro 400's which used to be in the North Devon fleet.

I assume all of the new E200's have arrived by now in which case I am missing one.
I have noted 13972, 13981, 13982, 13983, 13986, 14685, 14782, 14783, 14853, 14854 & 14856. Is there a 14855 or which one am I missing?

I was certainly working on the assumption that the current 36 buses are owned otherwise the refurbishment doesn't make sense, don't forget Coastliner 401-404 are still with Lancashire United as well as the Witch Way Gemini.
There are plenty of Olympians still knocking around each company which will have to replaced soon so surely the natural progression is for the Presidents to replace them with Gemini's to replace these, I can quite easily see these on the 760 although seating capacity could be an issue with the current configuration as I rode on a President the other week which was completely full out of Leeds during rush hour. It would seem strange to dispose of these having spent this money only to have to buy in a new set of low floor deckers to replace the Olympians.
Incidentally I caught 438 the other day and noticed it carried internal route branding for the 760, do any of Keighley's other Presidents have this or is it unique to this one, can't say I've noticed it before unless this is new.

But surely these buses will get much more than the five years they've had on the 36, I would imagine at the very least they will be used to replace 15 year old Presidents around the other Transdev fleets and work another 3-5 years before potentially moving onto schools work for another five. Alternatively they could be sold on next year with the improved specifications gained through the refurbishment surely increasing their resale value, certainly ex Transdev buses seem to have good resale potential judging by how quickly recent B7RLE and Versa disposals found new homes.

Alex Hornby has included a pic of the latest edition of the staff magazine on his Twitter feed which includes a paragraph which says that Transdev have signed up to spending over £3.2 million with Volvo for new buses for the 36 to be delivered in around six months time.

I've travelled on them a few times. I was a little surprised that the layout is 2+2 throughout given that the first 'Red Arrows' were 2+1 at the front. Also, the front of the painted buses look almost identical to TJ Walsh now that the deep red flecks aren't there. Whilst I realise this won't catch us out, Joe Public might not be so observant. Of all the colours to choose, they had to brand them using a colour almost identical to their rival... Every company does it, just look at the Stagecoach route 3 branding in Preston, they couldn't have made their buses look more like Preston Bus vehicles if they'd asked the Rotala paintshop to paint them! Look in the supermarket, how many 'own brand' products mirror the major brands in looks and style. Having spent an hour in Illingworth yesterday however I don't think you give Joe Public the credit they deserve as they seemed to have no problem letting the TJ Walsh buses go by while waiting for a Red Arrow. Anyway if Metro get their way passengers will have to get used to every bus in the county being the same colour.

Bradford batch is 63277-63288 In your previous post you said 63276 is at Bradford, did you notice which area that was branded for or are we now expecting 13?

Please, please, please let it be the B7L's, I had hoped the fact that these remained unpainted was a sign they may be on their way out until that hope was dashed with others recently joining 60877 in new colours. I'm lucky enough to have a choice of routes home from Bradford and actually choose my route home depending on which service does not throw one of these my way. In reality though I reckon it will be some of the B10BLE's which, although being much more comfortable and it appears to me to have much better performance, are starting to sound a little rough. Still eleven B7L's and 12 new buses, I can still hope!

I stopped of at the school bus yard on my way home from Keighley today and noticed plain white 665 & 719 among the rest of the fleet which had been displaced by the open day. I assume these two have arrived in connection with the start of Transdev's operation of the 845-847 in Bradford from today and tomorrow although they do not appear on the Keighley depot fleet list which was available at the open day. The ex Nottingham buses were also back in Keighley today after seeing service at the Harrogate Flower Show this week.

Second of many no doubt www.flickr.com/photos/35759580@N03/17088187360/I notice on the Keighley depot fleet list available at the depot today that 1801's registration number is missing, assume this means they are to be reregistered to hide their age in the same way as Harrogate's refurbished Gemini's have been.

I live on the route, I wouldn't have used it when is was 80 minutes to Leeds but now it's only 61 compared to about 50 on the 760 I'm much more likely to catch it now, especially as most of the day it will now leave Shipley on the hour so it will fall nicely between the .16 and .46 760 departures.
Don't know about single/return tickets but the Tiger day ticket is 40p more than the K Day (apart from before 9.30) so that goes against it.
From a vehicle point of view I'm more likely to go for the Tempo, Omnicity, Gemini, maybe not the Solo or ALX400, which currently turns up on the 62 rather than 15 years old Presidents and Renowns which Transdev usually serve up, to be fair they do seem to have their newest Eclipse's on the 760 quite regularly as well.
Of course from Shipley town centre the train beats any bus hands down, but for the folk who live off Leeds Road between Carnegie and Calverley I could see Tiger taking some trade from Transdev, especially if the quicker times are advertised locally.

The new routing of the 60 makes it a lot more comparable for speed, still a little longer, against the 760 between Shipley, Thackley, Greengates and Leeds, looks like a good move to me.

On an unconnected topic, one of the Eclipse 2's, think it was 69566, has received stripes on it's front bumper corners in blue and white, and red and blue stripes on it's rear end lower offside and nearside, at first I thought it had had a bump until I saw these were symmetrical. They seem to be too small for the start of some form of branding so the only thing I can think of is some safety initiative, can anyone enlighten me? I finally caught up with 69566 and took these pic's to illustrate what I was going on about. www.flickr.com/photos/35759580@N03/16778063196/www.flickr.com/photos/35759580@N03/16616344658/in/photostream/This bus was on the 636 this morning when I arrived at work at 7.45, it was then on the 607 at lunchtime and by the time I went home at 3.15 it was parked up in the Interchange out of service. Strange days indeed.

To be fair I think Bradford is among the better First depot's, I use them every day and it is rare for a bus not to turn up and late running is usually explainable (School traffic/roadworks). We used to see the Olympians out every school holiday but not for a few holidays now although the schools ALX400's do appear on a regular basis.
These strange allocations have only been for the last couple of weeks, it's seems to be almost any bus on any route at the moment whereas I can normally be fairly confident of which bus will turn up on my morning 612 to within about 25 buses and could usually have a fairly accurate guess at which buses are on which routes.

Does anyone have a clue what's going on at Bradford at the moment?
It started about a week and a half ago with Olympians appearing on a regular basis in front line service, something that hasn't happened very much for many months. This week the position seems to have worsened with cancellations appearing, in the half hour between 4.20 and 4.50 this afternoon I saw cancellations on the 612, 633 & 640, and that was without looking too hard. I know there are the usual glut of roadworks which happen at the end of every financial year and Westfield must be causing problems but even so I would have thought Bradford would have enough vehicles available, even with 32524 off the road.

On Bradford Interchange's 268 timetable they use the note 'A' against departures which terminate at Dewsbury, you couldn't make it up if you tried!
