Lol, have you seen the breadvans they're using? I'm not sure many young people will be enticed onto a vehicle that looks like they're on a day out from the care home to visit their new bird/ lad, go for a few drinks in town or whatever else young people do.
Yes they're practical, but lacking in style and quality; something that Arriva click did actually provide.
Will most older people download an app to book a bus service? I can't imagine so. Surely they would just use the existing access buses, normal bus network, or a taxi.
So, who exactly is the target market?

205 canceled. I always assumed that this was a tendered service, no? I wonder if it will be replaced by anything at all, maybe a good fit for CT Plus in the area?

Due to the closure of Kirkstall Road and Wyther Lane; my 760 ended up going down Raynville Road, to the absolute astonishment of locals. Lol.

As services 51/52 will be operated by Bramley from tomorrow, 16 StreetDecks are due to transfer there from Hunslet: 35100, 35202/6, 35282-94. I assume they'll be repainting them into correct route colours..... oh wait Bramley can't seem to get buses to show up anyway (and haven't since I started frequently using buses about 7 or 8 years ago) so I don't think it'll matter too much. They'll just dissappear into the Leeds Bermuda Triangle.

Fantastic as usual by Transdev. The MMC looks brilliant. I love the pink. Fantastic, absolutely fantastic, nice to see this part of yorkshire being getting the treatment it deserves, after the neglect by Arriva for the last few years. Love the branding. Keep it up Alex and the team! I hope Team Pennine stays like this! Can't wait to see the tempos! I don't think even the top Transdev haters out there can deny that these vehicles are looking very sharp. Looking forward to seeing them in person, as I haven't been to that area since they took over yet.

The last Volvo B10 Wright Renown on main services in Yorkshire, Keighley's 1077, has now joined the DTV fleet as T996. I hope someone will preserve one, if they haven't already. I certainly would if I had the money.

I don’t know how much revenue is generated from advertisements. But, when we had 37058 32439 and 37729 parked in bramley without roofs, the company that sorts the advertising boards out, still out new adverts on them. Even stuff parked up for scrap got new adverts. I think it's pretty crazy how the bus company appears to have next to no input on what goes (very prominently) on the side of their vehicles.

I don't think there are too many buses through town, but I do believe the layout of certain roads causes untold issues.
I've had many an idea about how you would make Leeds a much better place for buses, and of course passengers... but I think I would have to retrain as a city planner before they would let me anywhere near their offices!
I've always felt that Leeds has a lot of potential, but the council always seems hell bent on filling up every open space with a new building, whether it be student housing or offices.
Just look at the wonderful area that's opened up since Kitson College has been demolished. It would make an incredible public space, outside of the o2 academy, with quite a few clubs and bars surrounding it. Maybe with a little bus interchange on the site, particularly for student services.
I was excited when I saw this open space for the first time the other day, but then was quickly disappointing to read that it was going to become yet more student housing.
In my opinion a city needs light and shade. Leeds only ever seems to have shade, and where there are the occasional open (light) spaces: they tend to be very very dull (Millennium Square for example).

As many of you will be aware; there was a bit of uproar recently regarding an advert for a channel 4 show on the side of some buses, some companies such as Go North West even banning it from their vehicles from the start. - this Roger French article looks into it busandtrainuser.com/2021/09/03/the-naked-truth/amp/?__twitter_impression=trueSo this has lead me to think; how much money do bus companies get from adverts, for example First and Arriva; and how do Transdev afford to not have advertising hoardings if it does in fact bring in a large amount of money? (Understanding that I imagine Transdev would see adverts as making their product look cheaper, and not portraying the image they want). Of course it can sometimes be seen that bus companies (First in particular) can often care more about advertising income than the customers travelling on board their vehicles. Just see any of their full wraps, or guided B9TLs which have extended side boards. I would love to hear people's thoughts on this, particularly those on the forum who work in the industry and have a good idea of finances within the sector.

Some more double decker vehicles have arrived at Team Pennine for the school contracts two ex Keighley/Rosso Volvo B7TL East Lancs Vykings and a Pride of the North Plaxton President from Harrogate. There should be more arriving soon at Elland and Waterloo. By the looks of it, the Enviro 400s are heading back to Rochdale as 2812 has headed back already. As well as this, the Optare Solos from Team Pennine are being swapped with the Bury Bolts Enviro 200s as they don't want them at Rosso. My guess is the Bury Bolts will run on local services out of Halifax from October. Apparently, there are also 3 brands are arriving for Halifax at October but the only known one is for Calder Country. They don't want them? If I were a Elland driver, I'd be asking Alex directly why are we having something another division don't want, because clearly anybody taking an old Solo must be finding bad issues with the buses they don't want. Well seeing as most of them have been driving Tiger quality vehicles for years, I don't see why they would only now kick up a stink about quality of the fleet...

On another note, does anybody know what's up with Keighley Gemini 403? According to Bustimes it hasn't been out since the end of July.

I have heard word that the 503 will have 37686-37698 branded due to Transdev Competition with the Mellors arriving for the 561/562 and the refurbishments to regular buses on 343 and 563 between Halifax and Elland. That's interesting. I don't really imagine First feel threatened by Transdev (at the moment anyway), but it's good that they are branding some vehicles up. This is a really well used corridor. Imagine the potential of the 503 attracting new customers, especially private car owners with attractive liveries and smart, clean interiors.

I don't understand how a company can be that uninterested in updating and providing information for their CUSTOMERS. In any other line of work they would be out of business, with competitors hot on their heels. It just seems like lazy bus companies can get away with putting minimal effort in (presumably because there's hardly any competition).
It's pathetic.
I've always imagined that the people running companies like First and Arriva are there simply to get paid. The have no enthusiasm towards the industry, and as long as they can get away with doing 'just enough': they will.
Compare this with Transdev and Go North East for example; yes they may not be perfect but both Alex and Martijn are very passionate about the industry and it comes across with their staff, vehicles and marketing.

I'd have thought if any Solos are joining Calder Country it'd be the ones sent off for refurb on takeover day...? These are two of the Solo's in question which will be joining Rosso. You sure? I don't understand why he would tweet about improvements at Elland accompanied with a picture of two solos destined for Rosso?

I'm confused... the 2 stops eastbound on Wellington Street, what's that all about? I can't imagine a route's going to go Boar Lane, Infirmary Street, King Street, Wellington Street, Aire Street then onto Whitehall road. I always thought the vacant land (currently used as a car park) between Wellington Street and Aire Street would be the perfect place for a proper bus-rail interchange, both for terminating sevices, and things passing through (33, 34, 760, 508, 42, 229, 254/5 etc...) But of course it depends on who owns it and what the current plans are for it.

A: The B9TLS are not the oldest vehicles in the fleet. B: Streetdecks down a guideway would result in some nicely scraped lower body panels and shredded tyres. (Unless there were plans to get rid of the guideway altogether) Doesn't Vantage in Manchester use some for the guided bus way? Also I never said B9TLS are the oldest vehicles, I said they are the oldest low emission vehicles. First Manchester use guided Wright Gemini 3 bodied - Volvo B5LHs for the Vantage routes. These are the same chassis as the guided hybrids at Hunlset Park, just a different body. First Leeds were testing guidewheels on Streetdecks a few months ago, but nothing appears to have come of it. This would possibly explain why the 56/ 19/A and 40 haven't seen new buses yet.

B9s are going to be the oldest vehicles in the fleet they definately won't put guide wheels on the Huddersfield ones, they'll probably use the current ones at Bradford. The most likely vehicle will be a Streetdeck and then the B9TLs probably are going to join the Huddersfield fleet for X63 and then the Bradford side might use Streetdecks. That's because it doesn't qualify "The Core Bus Network is a network of bus stops with frequent services that run at least every 15 minutes or better. These are Core services. The network also includes Strategic bus services that provide direct express services between Leeds city centre and strategic locations at a frequency of 30 minutes or better" I just don't get why they would show Thorner on the map and not show that the 7 runs through there, and on to Wetherby? They've shown the 760 to Rodley, Calverley then onto Keighley.

The network map shows that the 7A/ 7S terminate at Potternewton Lane (or there abouts). What's that all about?
No mention of the Harrogate 7 either?[b

Find out what developments are planned for Leeds railway station and its approaches. leedscitystation.commonplace.is/proposals/leeds-city-rail-station-improvements-plansThe scheme will see an investment of £39.5 million to significantly improve the station’s main entrance and surrounding area. With the number of rail passengers using the station forecast to more than double to 70 million by 2043, the works are necessary to meet capacity demands and ensure that people can enter, exit and wait for services safely. Fantastic to see them moving bus stops further away from the main entrance, this will be particularly good for elderly and disabled people, and others wanting to connect between rail and bus when it's raining. Top work planning team. You deserve a few bonuses. Lol.
