Unsure if this has been covered already but Yutong 68809 has been named Andy Powell.
And I presume not after the Wishbone Ash guitarist.

When First ran the 11 from Pudsey to Crossgates it was a tortuous two hour trip each way. The Pudsey-Leeds bit was the worst, so I suppose the 81 can claim the honour now. That's a good suggestion. I used to do the route quite a lot back when Tiger ran it as the 60A. I once did the full 11 route when First had taken it on in an Enviro 400.

Woodlands, the exclusive estate running through the bottom part of Rawdon, is one place you'd never expect to see a bus service. Now, for arguments sake, the edges of the Woodlands area at either end are within easy reach of bus routes, however the area itself is not served for very obvious reasons (for those not familiar with this area, it's just too posh for a bus route lol). It got me thinking if there are other locations in West Yorkshire that you'd never expect to see a bus route for any reason. By regular I mean running daily and for use by the general public, so for example not weekend leisure services, works/school services, dedicated hospital services etc. The 'other side' of Ilkley, ie North of the river. Though this has always surprised me as there are quite a few houses there and it is a steep walk up to Ilkley. Maybe the area is just too posh, yet there will still be elderly residents, kids, and commuters wanting to board the train surely? One very local to me is Canal Road/ Bridge Road, Rodley. I believe this used to be the Rodley terminus (way before I was born) but some bus drivers still used this for the 86 until Canal Road outside the Barge pub was made one way in about 2016. Of course routes run on the main road, but it was just very strange to see buses on that particular street. As for places you'd 'never expect' to see a bus, well there's thousands: Clara Drive in Calverley, the Springbank area of Farsley, Pollard Lane in Newlay to name just a few.

I was a little disappointed on my visit today. I paid £3 admission (which don't mind) but there were no programmes or even basic timetables available. There weren't many vehicles running, and I wasn't too sure if any mystery tours were operating either.
I know the people running these events put a lot of effort in, and I don't want to dishearten them. It just seems in previous years there has been a lot more vehicle variety and printed material so you have a good idea of what is running.
That being said I did come away with a Keighley Shuttle B7RLE and Stagecoach Chesterfield East Lancs Omnidekka model for a reasonable price, which I was very pleased with.

Let's have a bit more trivia shall we (and no I'm not getting inspiration from a certain other forum coughrailukcough).
What is everyone's suggestion for the most convoluted bus route (wholly) within West Yorkshire?
Mine would be the 308 (yes it's my favourite route). It leaves Huddersfield instantly taking a different route to the other Holme Valley services. Climbing up towards Newsome, Berry Brow, then heading up Hanging Stone road before reaching Honley. Of course once you arrive in Honley the fun is only just starting. It snakes its way up a single lane road to Oldfield and the top of Bradshaw road. Once you have descended the other side of Bradshaw Road (white knuckle ride) it heads through Netherthong. When you reach the bottom of Netherthong; Holmfirth is on the right of you. But of course being the 308 we turn left and instead head through Thongsbridge, eventually arriving at New Mill Road which finally leads you into Holmfirth centre.
Maybe the Pudsey - Seacroft 16/A could also be in the running? I feel for anyone not used to the area and jumping on a 16 at Pudsey to get to Leeds.

When it comes to bus information in 2021, it is the most advanced (technologically) it has ever been. Yet when I use the wymetro website, I feel it lacks behind bustimes.org (which as far as I'm aware is voluntarily run), and certain operator's websites. Why does bustimes.org know what day of the year it is, yet you have to manually change the day of the week on the drop down box on wymetro?
I really think a bus tracking map should be implemented and timetables should be far easier to find, by simply having a search box on the home page. I mean, you would guess that is one of the main reasons for website visits?
Reading the WYCA bus improvement plan released recently, it would appear they want the Metro brand to be a lot more prominent on buses and general information, trying to bring everything under one roof as much as possible whilst the market is still deregulated. But I still opt for a third party website when trying to find information, times and live tracking for buses.
What are your thoughts?

For a bit of trivia, which are the two closest bus stops (serving the same routes) in West Yorkshire?
(Rodley) Hawthorn Drive and (Rodley) Brookfield Avenue are roughly 110 yards from each other.
Some stops on Ovenden Way, Halifax are also roughly the same distance as this.

A facebook post on Firstbus Enthusiasts states that Halifax Heritage 37048 is to be painted into Hx Connect livery.
Shame it will leave this heritage scheme for a livery designed by someone lacking any creative thought at all, at 16:30 on a Friday.

What's the deal with the X84 MMCs? Recently there appears to be more Streetdecks on there than the supposed allocation. For example today 4 out of 5 buses are Streetdecks.
Of course the route was cut down last year so surely there should be more available?

Are you sure it’s not just green because it’s a ‘green’ bus Just seen more photos on twitter. Last time I had seen photos of this particular bus it was in grey/ silver, so I was jumping to conclusions

Mr Hornby just posted a photo of demo E-Citaro MB21 BUS (albeit the front) to his instagram story. The interesting thing is that it looks to be in Keighley Green colours.

Not so much a misallocation, just an unusual sighting. Streetlite 47640 running through Rodley back to Bramley with '51 Moor Allerton' still on the desti. Never thought I'd see that. It had been on the 51... As I had stated...

Hi all.
My favourite route in West Yorkshire is the 308 Huddersfield to Holmfirth, via Honley and Nethethong.
I have tried, but struggled to find any accurate history of this route before about 10 years ago.
Does anybody know anything about this connection between the two towns?
How long has it run in its current form (excluding the changes around cross lane in recent years)?
Did it have a previous number, and if so was the route identical?
Did it ever extend past Holmfirth, as the other Holme Valley Routes do now?
What was the typical allocation, for example in the days of Yorkshire Rider?
Many thanks.

He was saying that 35261 is now in green, not that the 52 should be yellow. With Bramley now having a lot of the red tops I think it's probably time to make them all green. I was in Otley yesterday and saw two blue tops on the 34 & X84 and this morning in Horsforth the 50's had green, red, yellow, grey, Kraken & Yorkshire Rider! It does raise the question of why on earth do they have different colours? Who is actually in charge of First Leeds? I don't work in the industry, but I don't understand how a depot can consistently misallocate lots of buses every single day, and have done since the route colours were introduced. 'Let's look at a map, give different groups of routes a colour and then try and get the allocator to match the correct colour bus with the appropriate board, and if we can't achieve that then we'll just colour all of the buses the same.' Primary school stuff really isn't it. Circle toy in the circle hole. Square toy in the square hole.

I was in Leeds waiting for the 15:45 760, which failed to arrive. The very polite transdev advisor was apologetic and giving us updates on the service. A B9 pulled in at 16:12, loaded up, and set off straight away; shooting down Kirkstall Road.
We really don't need the 760 terminating at Park Row. Having the 670/ 35 cancelled, and the 508 stopping short of the majority of the city centre is bad enough for residents on those routes.
