Alex Hornby has announced that Transdev are taking over Yorkshire Tiger.
If they can drag Tiger operations up to their standards, I've a few relatives will be very happy.

Got to love autocorrect when it does things like this Interesting expansion and I wonder how the operations will develop. Was there any indication in the public domain that Arriva was looking to offload Yorkshire Tiger

Interesting developments. Hopefully that’ll even tidy the operations and even the specs of buses. Hopefully a more looked after and maintained fleet with newer buses being introduced every so often.
Also opens up new links especially between Halifax and Keighley which could do with re-igniting ( but that’s going off topic ) so stay back on track.

Let’s face it it couldn’t be any worse but expect rationalisations it hasn’t been run properly for ages and lost the plot many moons ago from the ethos it started with, successive management changes all of whom have single handedly failed to embrace or understand (probably both) what Tiger was all about.
A shame to see it go but it’s not what was envisaged originally.

It'd be interesting to see any vehicle movements as well in next few months, can't imagine Transdev with the lowlanders.

Hopefully they'll be able to time them better at the Keighley end where they're often 5 minutes off the Keighley - Denholme - Bradford bus.

I wonder if any efforts will be made to better connect the existing Transdev network to the current Tiger network? I can't exactly imagine Flyer starting to either Huddersfield or Halifax but maybe a transpennine route from Rochdale to Huddersfield?

Wow, as per the first poster, lets hope they can realise the potential. They've a strong brand but are constantly in a state of flux and have felt like they've just been floating along with no direction for years now.
Will be interesting what they do with each part of the business - Commercial (mostly ex-HJC) services in Halifax - Calderdale tenders - Commercial (mostly ex-K Line) services in Huddersfield that mostly compete with First - Mostly commercial South East Huddersfield services such as the 231/232/233

Surprises me that the 435/6/7 will stay with Transdev

I hope Alex Hornby and his team gives the TLC and love Tiger needs, as it's seems a bit neglected to me with it under Arriva

Wonder if First Huddersfield will still operate the early morning and late evening 231/232s when this happens.

This must be making First feel vulnerable. With depots in Bradford, Elland and Huddersfield Transdev could start nibbling at Firsts core business.

Wonder what vehicles will go back to Arriva then for that. Common sense would perhaps say the Tempo's which were ex Arriva in the first place, the other half of the batch is already at BI.

I'm sure now Transdev will have buses in Halifax they are very eager to take over the 587/589/590/592. The Idle Transdev depot has not yet started serving any areas in Bradford other than those of the A2/A3, which Transdev already had some dominance on the A3 corridor out of Bradford with the 662.

Some great news in my opinion, that I wasn't expecting; though I had considered it in the past.
Too early for speculation of course, but I wonder if it will be one brand across the two towns (place your bets on names now) or whether they will try target Halifax and Huddersfield separately.
Hopefully something like the 502 can be developed with full size singles and build up a good customer base. I find it crazy how the B3 (500) has more customers than a route linking two major West Yorkshire towns.
Another point is hopefully they don't decide to go fully solo operated; which could be quite tempting and maintain full size buses to allow for growth.

Huddersfield Bus Company? Halifax Bus Company? I'm just thinking are those names already owned by TJ Walsh and Centrebus

Huddersfield Bus Company? Halifax Bus Company? We've already had Huddersfield Bus Company from the Joint venture between Arriva & Centrebus whilst Halifax & Leeds operations were classed as White Rose Bus Company.
