So first have gone from having 3 buses per hour serving silk mill way, to 1, and none in the evenings. way to go first. Would imagine this is because they want more to use the 96? its the number 6 now not 96

Are the Ireland Wood/Tinshill services well used? And what impact will the service reductions have there? I don't know the Leeds network that well and I'm just curious how significant these changes are. Can anyone help?

JRT of Birkby will run the 357. Service will link Hudds - Quarmby - Crosland Road - Laund Road. Huddersfield Royal Infirmary will be incorporated into the route but I don't know the precise route diagram yet. With regards to both this and Centrebus's 572 - are they being operated commercially or tendered? Both seem rather marginal, but as has been seen in South Yorkshire, commercial operators can be persuaded to take on marginal services

I understand that the revised 357 operated by JRT will recieve a small amount of subsidy. (Be interesting to see what kind of bus will used on this). As for the 572, I'm not sure but I suspect this will be commercial.

quite a lot of journeys cut , My friends not pleased with the 91 being cut down to half hourly as he travels from Harehills to Headingley (Leeds met campus) for University and he says it saves him time, without the need of changing in town centre.

Regarding the 31, would it be possible that K-Line are interworking it with the 343, similar to First do with the 965 and X84 in Otley. Would have made more sense to retime the 31 to run 5 minutes earlier, then it would have had a 5 minute change over between the two 31 journeys and the 343.

Service 546 has been retained by First after all and will now run through to Siddal on Mon-Sat daytimes. Siddal will have a bus every 20 minutes, Norton Tower 2 and Warley remains with 1
Service 546 will now follow the 542 route out of Halifax with Hopwood Lane and Warley Road only served by service 832
Thoughts?

I don't know the Leeds network that well and I'm just curious how significant these changes are. Can anyone help? 18/18A will! as it serves areas that are A) in a long walk of the 10 minute and B)Serve areas that are not even in a walking distance unless you want no shoes left! They are quite well used, as is the 96. This is why am intrigued to why this decision was made! is to to get more people onto this service and off the 18? Is it becuase the loadings are low on the 96 so want to get them off the 18/18A to use this service or is it because it's first. First who hold monopoly over all of Leeds, and passengers stay loyal to them because they are the only company in 'tarn'. Therefore i get this 'well you will use us regardless we will do what we want' attitude from the MD'S at first. BRING ON THE QC'S.

I would hope that either there will be extra peak time buses or they start using double deckers on the route otherwise it could get a little too cosy.

Unlike almost all the high frequency routes we should note that this, in 74/75 incarnation, was every 15' before Black Prince in September 2005 (the only new frequent services have been the 72 and the 40/40A Leeds-Bramley Town End leg)

72 was made frequent to compensate for the diversion of the 508
As a Halifax customer a decision I still think is crackers (the 255 is now quicker quite often from Halifax to Leeds)

In Bradford, on half-hourly (evenings) routes 636/37 640/41, the next-to last bus is cut, ie there's an hour gap In Bradford, on hourly (evenings) routes 363 (to Bradford) 607 (Thornton - last bus 2135), the last bus is cut.

Still seems rather complex even after reading the leaflet. Surely it would be a good idea to just scrap different evening and Sunday routes on the same service number! As for 'tarn', surely you meant we're not from Malham (or Yeadon) Kendall? And timelesstable, yes Leeds and Wakefield are cities but people do still tend to use 'town' to refer to the centre', works a lot better than 'city' ('I'm going to city' doesn't really sound right though some with English as a second language might say it).

Why not just leave stuff as it is? ... god first can be a right pain in the @%£! sometimes! I do wonder how many more passengers will convert over to arriva! While it is bad for tinshill and maybe ireland wood/queenswood drive, it's quite good. First bus becoming 20 minutes into garforth. Lets wait for arriva's response! hehe

It is town, it is for the majority in Leeds and most cities.

Thanks to both 'fwybuses' and Craig for the info. Helps greatly when you don't know the area well but want to understand the impact of changes.

First have also done a leaflet for the Yellow Line in Halifax which is equally complicated. First are liking their unbalanced 2 per hour frequencies thesedays (i.e buses departing at 00 & 20), which is always a sign of desperation. The X84, the new Leeds Pink Line and the new Halifax Yellow Line.
