'Evening journeys, which were introduced on a trial basis by Yorkshire Buses, will no longer operate'. Interesting statement. As if to say First didn't run any evening journeys... they did! I do find it fascinating how Leeds is one of (if not) THE fastest growing cities in the country, has no mmass transit system and yet bus travel is still in massive decline in certain areas. Also funny how the areas that it's in decline in seem to be the 'up and coming' places like Horsforth and Farsley. I do hope franchising could turn this around, but I won't hold my breath. I Think Leeds is 2nd fastest to Cambridge - what makes the problems you listed even more ironic as they are the same there as well (also both places being sold Guided Busways as a Mass Transit replacements) Wasn't the evening service under First tendered, with Yorkshire Buses introducing them commercially? I'm guessing them saying they was 'on trial' sounds better than saying there's no money currently for a replacement. I Wonder how much the Ring Road upgrades have played a part in the decline around Horsforth & Farsley with pushing people into their cars, alongside the hopeless companies having played their part.

Regarding the evening trips on the 9, these were on trial as they were originally going to be axed when the 9A was curtailed however Yorkshire Buses kept them on for a trial basis, obviously the numbers don't warrant keeping them on. Regarding the potential for TLC, had they won, using a Solo. I've not seen more than 10 people on board on my section just off Beeston Ring Road at Cottingley either direction which includes a very late running journey around 8.40am at Whitehall Roundabout heading to White Rose a few weeks ago, that had a handful on board you'd think it'd have more on board bearing in mind it's a peak time bus. When First ran it I had many a journey that was packed with shcool/college kids, shoppers and workers coming home from the White Rose Centee area.

I've had a look at the new number 10 timetable and to be honest I can't see the point in journeys extending to Horsforth station, the turnaround time there is very minimal so late running will defo occur whereas turning at Horsforth centre would have mitigated for late running to a point. WYCA should simply re-contract the 30 if they want the Vale connecting with Horsforth station. Rest of the timetable seems ok but I would have added more time onto journeys even if it meant a lower frequency, I'd especially have put in a different timetable for Saturday afternoons, I'd have split the timetable between noon and 5pm into White Rose to Pudsey only every 2 hours between noon and 5pm (1 hour journey time each way) with the Horsforth to Pudsey section running hourly with 1 bus between those points, this would have sorted the issue with the giant Elland Road/Ring Road/M621/A643/A62 Car Park on match days.

I've read that they are looking to merge the 9 and 10 at some point back into 2 full outer circle routes so id imagine the Horsforth station link would go at that point

I think running it to the Station is great. The section that is causing issues is the Horsforth Vale part. I've not seen anyone get on or off there (not to say that absolutely no one does) and getting back out onto the ring road towards Pudsey is usually a total pain, and can take ages.

It's probably quicker most peak times turning left out of Horsforth Vale, ring road back to Horsforth Rbt all the way round and back to normal route again. I certainly do when in a van or car.
