So YT have withdrawn 5 services (all four uni ones and the 401), lost four services (900/901/911/933) and are running 757 24/7 but withdrawn some morning and evening services. So leeds will be running 38, 59, 60a, 61, 61a x63, 75, 75a, 76 and the airport trio and schools. That may explain the possiblity of reshuffle of the fleet. We'll have to until july to see if leeds shuts and moves as july is when the school changes start if my i remember correctly.

West Yorkshire Transport News (I get mine sent online)is reporting that a batch of Streetdecks are imminent for Leeds (no surprise there then) Anyone have any details? Could be for the pudsey runs 4/4a or just general use to start phasing out the old alx400s and any remaining royales and olympians.

I've been told by a fitter mate, who works at Waterloo depot, that 735 DYE is now theirs, and some more will be coming over from Leeds, shortly. He also told me, that the decker that hit the bridge at Stainland will be getting repaired so 834 (734 DYE) is staying with possibly lets say 831-833 moving across and 905 & 906 returning as an example. Good to hear 891 will be fixed. Will the presidents, "touch wood", be hopefully leaving???

Let's hope he can transform the operation to how it was when Martijin was in charge. so far he's done meet and greets in Halifax today with drivers and passengers so he may do it round the four depots/stations first to get a feel for the areas and to get an idea of improvements to services let alone the fleet and staff as fleet side it can be seen Nigel and the rest of the Arriva northern england teams have tried to replace withdrawn buses although we never no 780 & 781 may return as well as two of the scania solars that were at waterloo (750 & 751 i think they are) to replace the existing fleet vacancies.

R55 LOT - YJ58 CDV (53910) R60 LOT - YJ58 CDX (53911) R90 LOT - YJ58 CDY (53912) R60 LOT is still to be repainted For those like me who prefer fleet numbers to registrations R90 LOT is Ladies 11 so assume R60 will be Ladies 10 not nessercarily (apologies if missed-spelt) so as the 60 plate primos dont follow the logical pattern.

I think for now we ought to be grateful they're still running and trying to keep going and wait to see what the next few weeks and months bring with the new Manager starting and see how they progress with a new captain at the helm. At least they've been trying to continue since Martjin left but standards MAY have dropped if ARRIVA UK decided to wait for a permanant replacement before continuing with the repaints and fleet changes. On another note, has anyone any idea when the Optare Metrodecker Demonstrator is due at Waterloo or do we think that will be on hold as well???

Arriva Dewsbury 202/3 branded Enviro 1925 on 126/7 this evening, while spare 1914 was on 202/3 earlier today 1916 was on 126/127 as well. 1029 was on WCB in place of 3043 today. Also quite a few buses including sapphire vechiles and 268 MAX deckers going up n down A650 passed Wakefield 41 today.

I thought that all the 281/2/3 branding had been removed from the Dewsbury Pulsars None have any branding on them, all has been removed true but 1484 is one a few of the still withvevery 12/15 mins on whereas the rest have changed to here to take to there.

Wouldn't say it's been ongoing from the start, bear in mind this time last year for example, the Halifax fleet was fully repainted, fully refurbished, some new, all modern, and all looking very smart. Across the whole fleet there were no buses in Arriva livery, only a couple still in Centrebus livery. It's only in the last year or so it's gone rapidly down hill. I wouldn't say a full year the last 4 months yes but not a full year. On the other hand it has been 16 months of non-stop catastrophies, the most recent 885 (ex AY686) "malfunctioning" and having its accident in halifax town centre. Now in regards to apperence of the fleet, 624 has been fixed up but one thing I dont get is why withdraw 380 and not 335 & 336 first?!?!

Sorry but programming BrightTech displays will not improve the internal and external state of the vehicles. This is a fleet of multicolour so rather than orange or blue. It's a paint brush, broom, and newer buses that are required along with a change of attitude by staff. No not so fast. Theres some of the current fleet (excluding arriva transfers) that need painting up, then they need to replace the vechiles destoryed in the fire at Elland and ones withdrawn and stripped down e.g. 380 at Waterloo and 846 at Leeds. Once the current fleet is sorted out then get new or second hand decent buses eg. Buy YJ58FFL and YJ59AYX from Arriva B&C. However with 900 & 901 off to TLC and 911 to Stotts and if it is true leeds is losing its runs bar the aiports they may downsize the fleet.

If anything Dewsbury need more deckers, 2 Branded MAX Spares just isn't enough for the 202/3 and 126/7 combined. there's 3 " max spares" one of the gemini's that's just moved from Wakefield is branded as a spare bus 1516-18 are all branded for 126/127 just like 1508-15 are.

i was told by a family friend who works at dewsbury that 1479-81 moving was done to the depot managers all though all drivers at dewsbury say its ridiculous having so many deckers there as they cant run on 278 or 128 . I don't understand what you are getting at here, Dewsbury's double decks are for their MAX routes. the numbers there outweigh the numbers needed at times because when they go on other runs, the 212 included for the decker board on a weeknight, they never have more than a dozen passengers on 2 dozen at most. The deckers cant go on 278 unless every experienced driver is on the duties it requires and thats why there was also 3 or 4 on 281/282/283 before the changes and on 281/283 since. 1510 was even on 282/283 last Sunday when these barely get half full. Wheres the logic logic there when surely 1005-1008 can go on 282/283 on a sunday??? Can anyone on here 100% admit they've seen a full decker on any other run except 126/127 and 202/203???

AY just tweeted a pic of what looks like 1479 (YJ62JUC) being prepped ready for the 411 child design livery launch tomorrow. Looks like a ploy as yesterday it was 1451.

the pulsar in questiom is 1451. Its on the pic AY tweeted earlier. Seems a strange choice when there are sufficient 61 plate Pulsars to cover the 410/411 workings. Also begs the question of why move the recent two from Dewsbury (1480/1481) Dont know why they didnt go for a 62 plate pulsar, i was told by a family friend who works at dewsbury that 1479-81 moving was done to the depot managers all though all drivers at dewsbury say its ridiculous having so many deckers there as they cant run on 278 or 128 and thats why the lease on 57 & 58 was extended as this were due to go back to Arriva B&C back in November 2015. and they went DDA. He also said the mini e200 transfer is to try smaller buses for on the new interworking boards of 253/278/282 since the timings now slot in together since metro reduced funding to the 282 on a week day. Only thing that would have made sense would have been send 1450-53 to dewsbury and 1479-1483 or 1492-95 to castleford as 1451 was a good bus when it was at dewsbury and did better on clarke green street than the 62 plate pulsars and e200s (the alx200 & 300s were faster than these and 57 & 58 still are).

Just seen on AY's Facebook page, one of Castlefords Pulsars is receiving a special livery promoting the new '411' service. It is the winning design in a children's art competition ran jointly by AY and a primary school in Pontefract. Launch is this Thursday afternoon (7th)around 3pm in Chequerfield and will then work a scheduled '411' service to Castleford. the pulsar in questiom is 1451. Its on the pic AY tweeted earlier.

Saw Gemini 1518 running out of service down Broadway, Lupset about 13:45, anyone know what it was doing? it depends on it direction you saw it heading as the driver may have had to pull the bus off the run if it was overheating or low on water so he can get to the nearest depot or bus station (not Ossett) in order to add more water either that or it was on a private hire run or rail replacement.

It may be down to a lack of mechanics at each site because since the new year all AY buses (not sure about selby ones) have an job advert on them for mechanics across all sites with Belle Isle dealing with the applicants and employing the new mechanics and before xmas they had the job advert on for the new manager for YT.
