with whatever vehicles get displaced at Rosso. It was reported in the fleet changes thread that all the Renowns would be withdrawn by end of August; Burnleys are withdrawn as are the ones at Keighley for Schools (hence the Irwell line eclipses moving over and the ex Blackpool Centros now running on Irwell line). Not sure who said that but it’s not true. The Blackburn B10s aren’t being withdrawn yet and only some of the Keighley ones are. The moves out of Rochdale are 769/70 now at Burnley to replace 167/8, 1761-6 now at Burnley to replace 1602 and dispatch 1729-33 to Keighley, 1722/3 are at Keighley and 2425/6 are at Blackburn to replace 2754/5. The Keighley transfers replace 6 of the B10s including 1343.

It doesn't really matter what powers the bus when they cancel so many of them. Cancellations every day so far this week on the 36. 22 today alone.

2775 failed at Pannal yesterday afternoon 3614 hiding from Lucy since early Monday 3616 not used today - maybe undergoing maintenance 3617 unserviceable - accident damaged and probably still part of the police investigation 3619 unseviceable ? - not used since 0830 yesterday 3624 failed at Pannal 27 Aug and has not seen use since 3626 unserviceable ? 1915 Ripon-Leeds yesterday only made it to Harrogate bus station. 65% of the fleet in use.

I know she rubs a lot of people up the wrong way, but to be fair Lucy does make a valid point. There are 22 journeys on the 36 published as not running so far today. I understand there's been a fatal accident so they're more than likely a driver and bus down, as well as maintenance issues with other buses in the fleet, but if this situation doesn't improve soon I think a temporary reduced timetable needs to be considered.
From an 'outside' enthusiasts postition it's easy to justify dropped journeys, but for passengers who rely on the bus to get to and from work, see friends/family, get out and about, etc. it's not good enough.

We'd still have the same moaning and complaints as soon as one journey is cancelled on a 15 minute frequency.

Perhaps it's time to stop discussing Lucy's posting habits and get back to the original topic. As long as she can back up her claims and her posts are based on fact and personal opinion then I don't think there's anything wrong with her posts. You don't have to agree with them. There's a few things she's posted in the past that I don't agree with, but her opinions are just as valid as the next persons. If you don't agree, present your counter argument and move on.
Anyway...
With regards to the electric fleet, how will this affect the engineering team at Starbeck? Whereas Keighley will still have a sizable fleet of diesel powered buses Starbeck won't have that many. With less serviceable items on an electric vehicle could we see more out of area vehicles finding their way to Harrogate for routine maintenance?

Probably full time job maintaining the electrics; they seem to be struggling as it with the existing electrics - 805 has never returned to service following an accident on 31 May; might be a parts availability issue or maybe its being used as a "Christmas tree" for the rest. Its vehicle tax expires on 1 October so it will be interesting thereafter if its retaxed or SORN.

Well there are plenty of other schemes that that charlatan Sunak is proposing using the money for that have already been completed or are already funded, so it wouldn't be a surprise.

I'd prefer the reuse of HS2 funds to go towards more buses in general, rather than 'more electric buses'. There's a lot of money that could (and should) be better used subsidising evening/rural services.

There's a lot of money that could (and should) be better used subsidising evening/rural services. Interestingly, East Yorkshire have got some BSIP funding for some slightly random improvements on a few of their rural routes: - 747, which runs the back roads between York and Pocklington about 3 times a day, will now have F&S departures from York at 2000 (serving some villages) and 2245 (all villages), and 3 journeys each way on Sunday
- 55, which runs between Hull and Goole, will get F&S evening journeys running between Hull and Elloughton, and between Goole and Howden (but not the middle of the route), and Sunday services running between Hull and Gilberdyke, and between Gilberdyke and Goole, but not generally timed to connect and allow through journeys
- G1, Goole town service, will get a couple of early evening F&S journeys and 3 on Sunday
Looking at the portfolio of services across East Riding, this seems like a slightly odd set of routes to prioritise for F&S evening and Sunday services, rather than let's say providing M-Th evening services to substantial towns like Pocklington and Market Weighton that don't currently have them, but maybe there are some conditions of the grant funding that specify they must be lightly used rural routes...

Another demo will be coming for public use sometime soon. And as it’s march tomorrow the first 24 plates can be registered so may be appearing very soon

Harrogate bus station is to be closed on evenings after 7pm except Fridays and Saturdays between 21 April and 23 May to allow for the additional EV appartus to be installed. The 1, 2, 3 and 7 terminating on Lower Station Parade and the 36 and A2 on Station Parade between the bus and rail stations.
