Since I'm in London for a few days . Hope to ride on the NB4L to check it out. Went on 2 NB4L journeys. On the 24 and the 10. It's a very practical bus ( used on an evening rush hour through Central London) I entered through the front exited at the rear where conductors present. Stair layout is weird but effective for London commuters. Performance wise, it's like an enviro 400 hybrid. The series power the battery that powers the engine as it moves.

I am curious as to which routes may operate them. Examples could be the 1, 4, 6, 16 or 42. I am intrigued as to whether any London and Leeds routes of the same number will feature! I doubt they will operate as triple-door buses in Leeds though.

Its the only route i can see such types of vehicles transporting passengers between 2 cities.

They'd be great operating a route where bendies have been used as the new Routemaster would also be good on routes where bendies would struggle with tight corners. Michael Windle

If First get their way, there will allegedly be hundreds of them, so it'll be more a case of what they won't operate. All the Overground routes in Leeds would get them.

Will they be able to modify them for the guided bus lanes? As they would work very well on the x6

I think they'll work OK, if so they'll have to change the bus stops along guided busways if need be also with the two doors (and possibly even with the open rear platform) parking the new Routemaster won't be a problem hence loads of pavement space. Seen today running down York Road to East Street, now fitted with Smart Blind What type of blind? It'll be a McKenna Smart blind which is basically an electronic roller blind.

Any signs when this might be getting a run out in service or is it just for dust collecting in Hunslet?

Any signs when this might be getting a run out in service or is it just for dust collecting in Hunslet? Last seen moving was 10th September, but it is apparently not allowed in service because of the tri door feature, and Metro been picky. Also, the electrics on it are knackered, I would quote what the engineers had said but it's against the forums rules, if you get my jist.

So, befitting First's reputation, then! Could say that. It's planning on visiting two places in Halifax soon, one been Eureka, the other Russell Street. On 26th (Eureka) & 27th (Russell Street) of this month

Can you imagine Halifax getting them allocated? They are more likely to be allocated original Routemasters! So far they've been a resounding success in West Yorkshire with the travelling public, bit of a pi** in a brewery from First really. They need to get on with it and excite travellers.

I'm puzzled. Russell Street is by the Borough Market in the middle of the town centre, fair enough. But, the biggest majority of people who go to Eureka are visitors from outside the area, who won't give a jot about transport in the Halifax area, and possibly, even, West Yorkshire!! Surely there would be a place in the bus station for it, once the buses for School Base have departed perhaps? Seems a somewhat better place, or are First frightened to death of getting a real earful from the travelling public of Halifax and district?

I assume by Eureka main entrance it will be at the end of the large car park near the bridge. Otherwise we could expect the first open top NBFL if they take any nearer.
