Is the green Borismaster on tour this week available to be seen by non-First employees and the public as it tours around the W. Yorkshire depots?

Why bother sending it to Halifax? More chance of First running a free bus service to the moon than allocating Calderdale new vehicles!

My God, Aren't they ugly?. Haven't ridden on one, but saw plenty of them when in London a couple of months back. I'm led to believe they have bench seats as standard too, so the comfort level will be on a par with their aesthetic appeal. Do we really need these in West Yorkshire?. Keep them in London and we'll make do with E400's, New Gemini's or perhaps that new nice looking Optare decker.

Instead of it just being on show to staff, in my opinion the Borismaster should be on show to the public so they can share their views like what happened with the 72 Hyperlink and also Metro had their little events in places so people could share their views.

It will be shown to public It is a quality vehicle, very solid, but to me too much like 50's municipal If you like Retro, you will love it. I prefer Stenning

I think that if First operated the Borismaster they will not get people out of their cars and onto public transport as it just another bus (an ugly one at that, especially the ones with the overall black Adidas adverts on the 8 and 38), whereas the NGT being operated on a fixed route would have a better change.
Therefore I think First will find it very difficult to get the local authorities to pay for bus priority schemes as they will not have the same effect on the traffic as a trolleybus route.
Also the Borismasters are 11.23 metres long which on some routes in London means the bus has to crawl around tight corners that normal buses go around easily.

I was thinking lengthwise how can the NB4L get round tight corners especially as some main overground routes in West Yorkshire do go around housing estates. I can see something going for these lets say on cross routes such as the 72. Where city to city travel could be good, and when the wright streetcars (hyperlinks start to grow old) these could be seen as an alternative replacement. Boris's dream was to get rid of bendi's for this type of dream vehilcle that's become reality

I hear that it will be used on services in Leeds shortly but only to duplicate timetabled services on 1/96 to judge customer reactions

Get it on the 645 in Bradford, well it is the Green Line! (not that we seem to bother anymore)

Same as certain stops in the 72 only use the front door for both boarding and alighting.

Ideally the route 1 would be ideal to trial it out I think. Michael Windle going on all routes currently, rumour in HunsletDepot is the 42 currently. But the majority of all.

Don't know what the fascination of having it on Headingley Lane services is! If they are trying to win over Metro etc, to allow the funding to go elsewhere, then they need to prove the vehicles will, and can, work elsewhere. This is most likely why it's being trialled on 42s, if the above is correct.

Mr Wakefield, you are correct!
The bus is the 'New Bus for west Yorkshire', not the new bus for Headingley corridor!!
They are trying to prove to WY about a different RPT system

They are trying to prove to WY about a different RPT system The problem will become become apparent with the supposed poor steering lock when they try it on some of the tighter routes, as even at 11.2m it struggles to get round some turns that a 12m bus would easily get round. On the 1s I can see the tight spots being the left turn into Blackman Lane after the University inbound, and also the left turn onto Dewsburu Road inbound, both of which could catch out drivers not paying their full attention to the turn when on a B10LA.

Read somewhere a while ago that if they was ordering these for Leeds, they would have 2 doors... One at rear & one at front. Multi door access, not actually specifying how many, presumably 3. Direct from the first staff leaflet saying Multi Door

Some years ago a company called AEC produced a bus called the Routemaster for London Transport ,it was bought by London Transport by the 100s and even went to Halifax for them to look( None Ordered) at, but only Northern General in Newcastle took any outside London around 50 I think so do we think the new Routemaster will do any better ? Just keep it in London Boris wanted it Boris can keep it there are much better looking buses around than this.
