There is already a thread discussing the Leeds Bus Review.

Right I've re-activated this thread because I've got some jucy gossip and this title is likely to be used nearer the time anyway,Going by the latest WYITA papers about the Leeds bus review in July, the 5 half hourly evening service will be maintained and not reduced to hourly, the changes listed to the 60-63 services will go ahead as per review as they were well recieved (supprised the 61 reduction to hourly wasn't challenged!), the Wetherby Sunday evening services may be retained in some form (either current hourly or 2 hourly on each service depending on bids submitted) and the 781 may be retained again in some kind of format (Market day and Saturday only or as per current weekday only) subject to bid prices.

There was also a letter in the YEP yesterday claiming the 31/32 in Horsforth will be withdrawn.

There was also a letter in the YEP yesterday claiming the 31/32 in Horsforth will be withdrawn. That doesn't appear to be the plan as it was in the package of tenders for Leeds that recently closed, whether the plan will change if prices are too high and it isn't awarded is another matter but that would be unusual for Metro.

Reading that letter makes it sound like the end of the world, but just how many areas would be left without a bus?
Horsforth has always seemed well served.

Yes I think comparing Metro to Dr Beeching is a bit silly, and it would seem strange withdrawing the 31/32 given the recent new/transferred buses on the routes.

Expect a few surprises when the July tenders for the Leeds tenders are released - it includes a new operator to the area!

Tongue in cheek spot. I wonder if that will coincide with the arrival of new buses for Leeds and possibly Bradford/Huddersfield, meaning that Flolines etc get an extension of life???

I know I am being a bit of a tease - but it is a while since I have been able to do that! No, it is not a new operator which is running a service in Leeds - but one which operates in another district within West Yorkshire.

I'm having a punt on something a little out of the ordinary like TJ Walsh running the Horsforth 31/32 as Metro needed a smaller bus to run these routes and TJs have smaller buses in abundance so saves Metro having to fork out for a couple of new ones and almost means a smaller bus can be sought any time if one is out of action.

That's true but their was the situation a few years ago where HJC ran the 629 over Shipley/Bingley way which incurred a lot of dead mielage so it could still be the case as TJs do have the advantage of lots of small buses suitable enouth to get around cars through Horsforth.
