They should just leave buses as they are!!!! I will not be getting on the 508 to Leeds again & other people on the bus were saying the same this morning "I will be getting on the 255 in the future - I am already 10 mins late for work as it is" (That was around 9:40am)

Surely it could be a case for Arriva to increase (not something they do often) their 255 service from Halifax to at least half-hourly (extend the one that terminates at Wyke), attract the what could be the increasingly-disgruntled 508 passengers if the first weekday of the revised service is to be a regular thing.

It'd only require one extra bus as well to increase the 255, but I doubt it will happen.
Now maybe this is a sensible suggestion for something HJC could be interested in? A service operating via the old 508 route but via Stanningley Bypass?
I doubt that will happen either!

Tried out the revised 508 route this morning peak - a lengthy affair around Farsley and then a continuous queue down Kirkstall Rd into Leeds - by the time the bus reached the Bus Station - I would estimate that the bus would have been 10 mins late. Not Suprised. To be hosnet, i think they should make the 508 like the X84, drop off down staningley road, pick up only back on the way up. Cover the old 15/508 with an extended 85/87 through to Pudsey Bus Station going over the old 15 route part. Are you joking the 85/87 were struggling just to get to Bramley yesterday and there wasn't even a bus to town between 08.30 and 09.20 when one turned up late and then a 85/87 both followed each other up from town, are these run from Hunslet depot now by the way...

From what I can see from the loadings so far, Centrebus aren't doing too bad, and also I saw a pm peak hour First 757 double decker on the way to Leeds (up Rawdon) with nobody on! Seems like as well that First have only extended the Horsforth short workings to Yeadon to compete with Centrebus as they run 5 mins in front of Centrebus. I hope Centrebus re-time their service in May or July so as to give a more even 10 min frequency to Yeadon (Murgatroyds). Bus users in Yeadon deserve that after enduring months of non 33A workings, round the houses trips on the alternative 97 or longer walk up to Murgatroyds for the 757.

The problem here is that service is timed to connect at the airport with the 967 which in turn connects with train services at Menston station. The timings of Centrebus 757 can't really be changed. I would be keen to know how Centrebus intend to run the 757 at peak times through Kirkstall without extra running time though - a few missed connections for Pool passengers I suspect?

They did run one briefly - x21 and x79 I think, but they went at odd times and didn't attract many passengers. That seemed to be the downfall of the 509 when it replaced the above to Leeds; not at regular times past each hour. Passengers tend to stick to the regularly timed services they know!

Correct, the timetable was designed by Metro and is tied by its connection with the 967 & subsequent rail connection so there is little room for manoeuvre without removing the through connection. There is extra running time in the peaks on certain journeys, whether this is enough and covers all the issues only experience will show.

Plus the 508 is now a Non Buggy Freindly/Wheelchair accessible route, so expect to see a lot of Royale's etc. on the route. All the 508's ive seen since the major change have bn run with B7tl geminis!

There is extra running time in the peaks on certain journeys, whether this is enough and covers all the issues only experience will show. What they could do, is at peak time extend the 757 to pool. Only AM&PM peak though. This then doesn't miss for connections as the 967 will pick up anyone bound to the Station/Otley from the airport, and anyone for Pool will be okay as thats where it terminates. As for anyone bound for otley, most catch the X84, its very rare to ever catch a B9TL with no spare seats between 4 and 7 on that route.
