Was the 73 the one which was later remembered, was it 76, but only ran a very irregular service around 2000, maybe Saturday evenings only if I recall? I remember the 73 around the late 90's heading to Moor Grange, used to wait for the then 41 (now 49) at Kirkstall leisure centre , it used to turn left at Kirkstall Lane, Morris Lane onto Spen Lane to Moor Grange. Think it was joint service with black prince. It was numbered 76 and 77 was used both were irregular services. These numbers were freed up after the Overground renumbering around 2000, The 76 was part of the 74/75/76 group Moor Grange - Leeds - Middleton routing same with the 77 Leeds - Middleton, I'm sure a bit of history will come up soon.

Was singles deckers and then went to minibuses can't remember if it then went back to single deckers. If anybody went to metro 40 and bought the £5 book there's a picture of the 73 on page 21..

Lol Sent from my GT-N7100 using proboards I didn't go on any of the circular tours, only the one to Bowling Back Lane, as i was short of time, so that explains it. Why it wasn't advertised by way of a poster or sold by the bloke in the caravan alongside the £2 programme I don't know.

Back in 1980 the 73 ran at 54 mins past hour from Bramley to Moor Grange and 37 mins past hour to Greenthorpe throughout each day so as you can tell it had a very user friendly timetable.
Part 7
74/76 - 74 Belle Isle Raylands Way - Raylands/Brooms estate - Belle Isle Road - Hunslet (Moor Road and distributor road) - Jack Lane - Leeds Infirmary Street - Burley Road - Headingley stadium - Queenswood Drive - Moor Grange. 76 Middleton Arms - St Phillips Avenue/Town Street - Belle Isle Road then as 74 to Moor Grange. Broadly speaking these services ran every 15 mins each at peak times Mon to Fri (7/8 mins combined) but a couple of short extras had to run to give parts of the route a maintained frequency when some through journeys terminated part of the way. Because of these short terminating journeys, there were some parts of the route had a gap in frequency at peak times. During the day Monday to Friday, evenings Monday to Friday til late, and from the start of service right through til late on Saturdays each service ran half hourly giving a 15 min frequency. Sunday mornings only the 74 ran every half hour (with a 2 hour gap on through journeys from Belle Isle and some short workings first thing) then at lunch the 76 joined in the party half hourly to form a 15 minute frequency til late.
76 Holbeck Moor - Domestic Street - Water Lane - Leeds lower Briggate and Briggate - Burley Road - Headingley stadium - Queenswood Drive. I think this terminated at the bottom end of Queenswood Drive as it's described as Headingley Queenswood Drive in the timetable. This service ran through journeys every half hour from around 6am until 6pm Monday to Saturday and had short workings between Leeds and Holbeck both ways at peak times Monday to Friday to give a 15 minute frequency. Only a handful of journeys ran between 6pm and 7.30pm Monday to Friday and only between Leeds and Headingley both ways with no journeys to/from Holbeck at that time. No journeys ran after 7pm Monday to Friday, all evening Saturday and on Sundays.
77 Gipton Foundry Approach - Compton - Leeds - Burley Road - Kirkstall Lane - Leeds and Bradford Road - Broadlea Estate - Broad Lane - Bramley centre and Town End (Back Lane). The Leeds to Bramley section looks like todays 49 with the Gipton to Leeds section looking like part of todays 16. Early mornings Monday to Friday it ran every 20 mins, then from 7am the frequency picked up to every 12 mins with some added journeys, from after the AM peak until lunch a 20 minute frequency ran an from lunch until the pm peak it ran every 15 mins with the 12 min frequency resuming for the PM peak. I'll get onto the evening service in a moment as that's different. On Saturdays, early journeys ran every 20/30 mins then from mid morning until around half 5 a 12 min frequency ran. Evenings Monday to Saturday journeys ran every 20 mins only between Leeds and Bramley with a couple of last buses extending to Gipton. Sunday mornings had a half hourly frequency between Leeds and Bramley with one bus from Gipton. Sunday afternoons until the end of service, a 20 min frequency ran between Leeds and Bramley with one afternoon bus from Gipton and the last bus extending to Gipton.
78/A/B/M Harrogate - Wetherby - Tadcaster via various villages. At some point I'll scan the timetable as it's a bit complex but broadly speaking an hourly service ran between Harrogate, Follyfoot/Spofforth, Wetherby, Boston Spa and Tadcaster Monday to Saturday during the day and 2 hourly evenings and Sundays.
79/A Wetherby - Tockwith - York via various villages. Again this is another timetable I'll scan as it's complex, but broadly speaking the 79As served Bickerton whilst the 79s served a load of other villages, the 79As ran at peak times Monday to Friday only at infrequent times. 79s ran at infrequent times as well all day from York, but with an early finish from Wetherby at 1.30pm, the next 3 buses from Wetherby being 79As from 4pm. Saturdays only the 79 ran every 2 hours until mid afternoon then a gap of 4 hours until the evening when a last through journey and a short working ran each way.

Just to add their are a couple of services I've not mentioned (29/A Harrogate Blubberhouses Fewston Otley and 77 Harrogate Sicklinghall Wetherby) as they appear at the end of the timetable book for some reason, as they run at irregular intervals and days, I'll scan the timetables for these services at a later date.

Part 8, time for some headache tablets for some of this bit folks!
Right lets start off with the first headache, the 80, 85 and 89.
80/5/9 Pudsey - Stanningley - Farsley - Bagley Lane (part 80, whole 85/9), Coal Hill Lane (80) - Rodley - Horsforth New Road Side - Old Ball - Tinshill Lane (part 80/5, whole 89) - Tinshill Road (80/85) - Otley Old Road - Holt Park
The 85 seemed to run hourly all day but the 80 and 89 didn't have a frequency at peak times, I'll describe things as best as possible but bear with me. 89 journeys seemed to operate the majority of the time. The 80 ran only odd journeys at peak times either to provide extra journeys or to form part of the overall frequency. The 85/9 also ran all day. Services throughout the day early til late Monday to Friday through to Holt Park ran half hourly with a handful of early journeys forming part workings. During the day between AM and PM peak and after the PM peak til late the 85 and 89 every hour each to provide the half hourly service. Peak services between Pudsey and Horsforth Old Ball ran every 15 mins with some extra journeys thrown in and additional part workings e.g between Pudsey and Rodley or Horsforth Fleece.
To give you an idea of how muddled the peak time service was, here is a selection of buses between 06.45am and 08.45am from Pudsey. OB - Old Ball, F - Fleece, R - Rodley and HP - Holt Park. 06.45 89 OB, 07.00 80 HP, 07.15 80 OB, 07.30 89 HP, 07.45 89 OB, 08.00 85 HP, 08.12 80 F, 08.15 89 OB, 08.30 89 HP, 08.45 89 R. After this period the half hourly through to Holt Park 85/89 combination starts at 09.00 til chaos resumes at the PM peak.
Saturdays the 85 and 89 ran hourly each all day to form an half hourly frequency through to Horsforth Old Ball early til late with journeys serving Holt Park only between 8am and 6pm approx. Sundays buses on the 85/9 only ran between Pudsey and Horsforth hourly Sunday morning and half hourly from lunch til late.
Right here's the second headache! 81/2/3/4 East Leeds to West Leeds!
81 Farsley - Bramley - Stanningley Road - Leeds - York Road - Selby Road - Austhorpe.
82 Farsley then as 81 to Selby Road then School Lane to Colton
83 Rodley - Bramley then as 81
84 Rodley - Bramley then as 82
I'm best to describe each section of route individually as it's much easier bearing in mind numbers swap part of the way through the day. For example, the service from Rodley runs as 84 for most of the AM peak but has 3 83s in place of 84s thrown in for good measure.
I'll just give a quick overview of the core daytime service between Bramley, Stanningley Road, Leeds, York Road, Selby Road and Halton. Peak times roughly every 5 to 15 mins with some journeys doing part workings, off peak Monday to Friday and Saturday early morning til early evening every 15 mins. For evening and Sunday frequency, see individual descriptions below but just to add, some late journeys only ran as part workings e.g to Whitkirk or Bramley.
Services from Colton to Leeds (with most buses continuing through to Bramley and Rodley/Farsley but see note) ran every 15 mins at peak times, mostly hourly off peak Monday to Friday including evenings til late (but with some afternoon extras), half hourly Saturday daytime then hourly in the evening and also all day Sundays.
Services from Austhorpe to Leeds (again with most buses continuing to Bramley and Rodley/Farsley but see note) ran every 15 mins at peaks, 3 times an hour off peak Monday to Friday not including evenings, Saturday through the day til early evening a half hourly service mostly ran, evenings Mon to Sat til late they ran hourly and the same all day Sundays.
Please note different conditions applied to through journeys evenings and Sundays. See description of evening and Sunday services within the Rodley/Farsley section for details of journeys to these places from/to Colton/Austhorpe.
The same level of service described from Colton/Austhorpe mostly applied for services from Rodley and Farsley Monday to Saturday daytime but with some added peak time short journeys and some workings timed to give larger gaps. Evenings Mon to Sun half hourly services ran from both places however only journeys from Rodley continued beyond Leeds to Austhorpe or Colton and journeys from Colton/Austhorpe ran to Farsley with Rodley journeys starting from Leeds. Sunday mornings journeys ran hourly from Rodley/Farsley through to Colton/Austhorpe however on Sunday afternoons the same situation as evenings occured.
God Metro loved making things complex, and I thought they were supposed to be passenger friendly!
86 Middleton - Belle Isle - Hunslet Beza Street - Dewsbury Road/Tunstall Road - Beeston Hill - Holbeck - Wellington Road - Armley - Bramley Town End and shopping centre.
The first journeys started as short workings from Bramley Town End. The majority of journeys ran between Belle Isle and Bramley Centre with Middleton only served by a handful of journeys at peak times. At peak times the through journey frequency was mostly every 12 to 15 mins with some added short workings making some sections up to every 6 mins, during the day Monday to Friday and from early morning til early evening on Saturdays a 20 min frequency ran, evenings til late and all day Sundays a half hourly frequency ran with an extra evening journey on Saturdays between Belle Isle and Wellington Road each way.
87 Leeds Bus Station - Hunslet Church Street - Midland Road - Middleton Road - Belle Isle Road - Town Street - Manor Farm Estate. Thank god this was nice and simple, hourly from early morning til early evening Monday to Saturday.
88/92 Leeds Bus Station - Whitehall Road - Ring Road - Pudsey Road - Pudsey Robin Lane (88) Kent Road (92) - Waterloo - Thornbury - Bradford. The 88 ran all day every day and the 92 only ran at Mon to Fri peak times half hourly and Saturdays half hourly during the day. The combined 88/92 frequency at peak times and Saturdays from mid morning through to early evening was every 15 mins, Monday to Friday during the day from 9 til 3, early evening til late Mon to Sat and all day Sundays til late a half hourly frequency ran.

Part 9
91/4/7 (91) Pudsey, Stanningley, Leeds and Bradford Road, (94/7) Bramley Centre then all via Broad Lane - Kirkstall - Headingley - Meanwood - Chapel Allerton - Harehills Lane then 91/4 via Osmondthorpe to Halton Moor and 97 via Lupton Avenue and East End Park to Cross Green.
The core route from Broad Lane to Harehills Lane had a peak hour frequency of every 5 to 15 mins, and an off peak Mon to Fri daytime, Mon to Fri evening all day til late Saturday and Sunday afternoon til late frequency of every 15 mins. Sunday mornings a half hourly service ran. Individually the 91 ran it's route every 15 mins at peak times with a couple of additional short workings and some part route workings forming the frequency. The 94 ran off peak including evenings, Saturdays and Sunday afternoons every 30 mins from Bramley Centre. During the day Mon to Fri, all day Saturdays, every evening and on Sunday afternoons the 91 and 94 teamed up from Broad Lane to provide the 15 minute frequency through to Halton Moor. Late journeys after 10.40pm only ran part routes both ways. The 97 only ran at peak times Monday to Friday, it was the peak time link for Bramley when the 94 wasn't running and provided a half hourly service from Bramley Centre through to Cross Green with some short workings.
93/6 Tinshill (96) Cookridge (93)- West Park - Headingley - Hyde Park - Leeds bus station. At peak times these services ran every 10 mins each with additional through and short workings. During the day Monday to Friday they ran every 20 mins each (10 mins combined), on Saturdays from morning until early evening they ran every 15 mins each (7 mins combined) with very early journeys running every 20 mins til around 8am. Evenings Mon to Sat each service ran every 20 mins combining to run every 10 mins with late journeys after around 10.40pm from Tinshill/Cookridge and the last 2 Saturday buses from Leeds at 11.26/36 only running to Headingley. On Sundays things were a bit slower, each service ran hourly Sunday mornings, early Sunday journeys on the 93 started from Headingley with Cookridge buses only starting at 9am. From lunch on Sunday services ran half hourly each (every 15 mins combined) until late again with the last few journeys from Tinshill/Cookridge terminating in Headingley.
110 Leeds - Hunslet Low Road - Stourton - Rothwell/Robin Hood - Lofthouse - Outwood - Wakefield - Sandall - Kettlethorpe. Before someone says it doesn't go via Rothwell it does for half a mile on Wakefield Road, just thought I'd add it in. Anyway this bus ran from very early in the morning, the first bus from Belle Isle Depot was 04.22am and from Leeds at 05.15am! All day from morning til early evening Monday to Friday a 15 min frequency operated with the exception of a few gaps in the early morning service mostly from Leeds covered in part by short workings. Early Saturday mornings a half hourly service ran until around 7am with some short workings so parts had a 15 minute frequency. From 7am til around 10am the whole route had a 15 min frequency then from 10am til early evening the whole route had a 10 min frequency with some early evening journeys doing part of the route. Evenings Mon to Sat a 20 min frequency ran with late journeys doing part of the route. Sunday mornings til around 11am an infrequent service ran with a handful of journeys running to/from Kettlethorpe the rest only running to/from Belle Isle. From mid morning til end of service a half hourly service ran throughout the whole route until late then late journeys only did part workings.
Within the timetable was a summary of all services on the 150/2/3 167/8/9 183/9 465 X50 and SY between Leeds, Thwate Gate, Rothwell, Woodlesford, Methley, Mickletown, Lower Mickletown and Castleford. I won't attempt to summarise things as it's too complex and would need many paragraphs to disect each areas level of service between the places served.
150/2/3 Leeds - Hunslet Low Road/Thwate Gate - Stourton - Pontefract Road then 150/2 via Stye Bank Lane, Rothwell and Oulton and 153 via Woodlesford - Methley then 152/3 Methley Junction and 150 Mickeltown then all via Methley Road - Castleford - Glasshoughton - Pontefract. The 152/3 ran Monday to Saturday from early til late mostly half hourly (hourly each) with early and late journeys only doing part route workings. Some late 152s also served Mickletown. On Sundays the 150 and 153 ran mostly half hourly with through journeys both ways until mid morning running at a lesser frequency and part workings making up the frequency over parts of the route. Late Sunday journeys only did part workings.
155 Castleford - Great Preston - Kippax Cross Hills and War Memorial via Allerton Bywater Vicars Terrace. This service ran in conjunction with the 162/3 and was shown in that timetable. It ran hourly all day including evenings and Sundays fitting in between 162/3 journeys most of the day.
162/3 Leeds bus station - York Road - Halton - Whitkirk & Selby Road (162) or Cross Gates & Ring Road (163) - Selby Road - Garforth Main Street & Lidgett Lane - Kippax Cross Hills - Great Preston - Allerton Bywater Church - Castleford. Most of the day from early til late Monday to Saturday a half hourly service ran with some early and late journeys only doing part route workings. On Sunday's until early afternoon a 30 min to hourly service ran with an early morning journey isolated from the main service by 3 hours. From early afternoon the half hourly frequency came back into play until late with late journeys doing part route workings.
161 Leeds - York Road - Selby Road - Halton Cross Green Lane - Ring Road - Selby Road - Swillington Lane - Swillington Church. This service ran only at peak times Monday to Friday and Saturdays during the day, a small number of peak journeys served Swillington with the rest terminating at the Ring Road, it ran frequently during the peaks but with some gaps and at no actual frequency. On Saturdays all journeys served Swillington and it ran hourly. The service ran Limited Stop from Leeds in the PM peak.

Here's that bit of history (better late than never). As pointed out the 74-76 services were revised meaning the 73 could take the now free 76 number. This was to enable First to designate the Pudsey via Stanningley route as 73 (which was separated from the 40). At this point the renumbering of the longstanding 73 hardly mattered as this had been drastically cut back to two Saturday evening journeys only (on what basis this was decided one can only guess). Meanwhile the 74 continued to run the Middleton via Beeston route and the 75 via Belle Isle (similar to today's 48 route). North of the city they served Tinshill and Ireland Wood (now the 19/19A) with the 56 taking over the Moor Grange service. The 77 was a fairly short-lived service Leeds to Middleton via Dewsbury Road, linking at Middleton with the 76 to provide the longstanding circular service across Middleton.

Finally I'm on double figures and gladly more than half way there
Part 10
164 Leeds - York Road - Selby Road - Halton Green Lane - Hollyshaw Lane - Selby Road - Garforth Wakefield Road/Allerdale Rd/Barley Hill/Main Street and Ninelands Lane - Kippax Cross Hills/High Street - Ledston Luck Village. This service ran hourly as a through service all day Monday to Saturdays from early til late as well as Sunday afternoons. At peak times and early/late on Saturdays extra short workings ran to various parts of the route. No 164s ran before lunch on Sundays and the first working towards Ledston was a short from Garforth. This service ran in conjunction with the 165 but not really at a combined frequency. They ran as a 20/40 min frequency Monday to Friday during the day, Sunday afternoons and every evening and as a weird 25/20/15 min frequency on Saturday during the day.
165 as 164 to Garforth Wakefield Road then via Allerdale Crescent, Kingsway, Popular Avenue, to Barley Hill then via 164 to Kippax High Street (but via Valley Road) then Gibson Lane, Cliffe Crescent and Park Avenue. In the return direction, it went straight onto High Street. It ran at hourly intervals all day Monday to Friday with only 1 extra peak working from Leeds. On Saturdays an hourly service ran until mid morning then 2 journeys an hour ran until early evening (with one continuing from Kippax High Street to the War Memorial) then an hourly service ran til late. Sunday mornings an infrequent service ran until lunch then the hourly frequency ran until late.
166 Leeds - York Road - Selby Road right through to Garforth Town End - Hook Moor - Micklefield Village - Sherburn - South Milford. Monday to Friday and Sunday a 2 hourly service ran early til late with some peak extras Monday to Friday. On Saturdays an hourly service ran early til late. As a point of interest, the last through working Monday to Friday and Sunday was at 8pm from Leeds and 9.07pm from South Milford. The last Saturday through working was at 9pm from Leeds and 9.07pm from South Milford. a short last working ran from Leeds to Micklefield every day at 10pm and from South Milford to Garforth at 10.07pm on Saturdays.
167/168/169/X69 Leeds - Hunslet Low Road - Stourton - Pontefract Road - Oulton Lodge (not Holmsley Lane) - Wakefield Road Woodlesford - Swillington - Astley Lane (167) or Goodey Cross/Great Preston (168/9) - Bowers Row (167/9) - Allerton Bywater - Castleford then 168 only via Airedale, Stranglands Lane and Ferrybridge to Knottingley. Service X69 ran via the 168 route as far as Castleford on a limited stop basis. Both the 169 and X69 ran only at peak times only as extra workings to complement the rest of the service. One 169 journey towards Castleford during the PM peak started from Stourton Thwate Gate and was classed as a works journey liable to suspension if not required. Both the 167 and 168 ran hourly each (half hourly combined) all day early til late Monday to Saturday. On Sundays from morning until mid afternoon only the 168 ran, and had one early working followed by an hourly mid morning to mid afternoon frequency. From around 3-4pm the 167 ran every hour and combined to provide a half hourly frequency with the 168 til late.
171 Castleford - Low Mickletown - Mickletown - Methley - Newmarket Road/Scholey Hill - Aberford Road - Oulton - Rothwell - Lofthouse - Thorpe - Middleton Park Avenue bottom. This ran every 2 hours during the daytime Monday to Saturday from after the morning peak until the middle of the PM peak. There was also one short late working from Mickletown Coillery to Newmarket House.
175 Castleford - Ledston - Kippax (Cross Hills, Goodwood Ave and Valley Mount). This ran mostly 2 hourly from early til late Monday to Saturday with some additional journeys/re-timed journeys meaning longer/shorter gaps. No service ran Sunday mornings until lunch then a 2 hourly service ran til late. Additional journeys between Castleford and Ledston were provided on the 176 to give a mostly hourly frequency between those places.
176 Castleford - Ledston - Ledsham - Micklefield - Hook Moor - Aberford - Barwick - Garforth. This service only ran off peak during the day Monday to Friday. Monday to Friday journeys ran at a 2 hourly or less frequency with some retimed and short journeys meaning a gap of more than 2 hours. On Saturdays a 2 hourly frequency ran from mid morning until early evening. No Sunday journeys ran.
183 Leeds - Pontefract Road through Hunslet Stourton and Oulton to Methley then Mickletown - Castleford - Cutsyke - North Fetherstone - Fetherstone - Purston - Ackworth - Wragby - Nostell Priory - Fitzwilliam -Kilnsley - Hemsworth - South Kirkby - Moorthorpe and South Elmsall to Broad Lane. From Leeds only a couple of peak workings ran each way with an additional short peak working from Nostell on a morning and to Fetherstone in the evening as well as a journey from Oulton to South Elmsall on a morning. The rest of the Monday to Friday timetable consisted of additional early short workings between Castleford and Nostell and an hourly service from Castleford to South Elmsall from early til late with last buses running as short workings. On Saturdays an hourly service ran (see next note) between Leeds and South Elmsall as follows. Towards South Elmsall services started at Castleford until mid morning then ran from Leeds until late afternoon then the Castleford to South Elmsall shorts re-started til late. Towards Leeds services ran through to Leeds from early morning until mid afternoon then the rest of the day they terminated at Castleford til late. Sundays was a different kettle of fish. Mid afternoon and late night a journey ran hourly each way between Castleford and Hemsworth. Between Castleford and Purston an hourly service ran from mid morning til late. A separate hourly service ran from Hemsworth to South Elmsall on Sunday afternoons til late via Minsthorpe every 2 hours.
186/7/8 193/4/8 Castleford/Pontefract - Ferrybridge/Fairburn/Brotherton - Monk Fryston - South Milford - Sherburn - Barkston/Saxton - Ulleskelf - Tadcaster. See earlier comment about this service on page 1. Because it's a bit complex to explain, I'll scan the timetable at a later date. Broadly speaking the first journeys from Castleford Monday to Friday ran as through workings with all others for the rest of the week Mon to Sat running to Ferrybridge and connecting with through Pontefract to Tadcaster journeys. Most journeys from/to Pontefract ran as through workings every day of the week. No journeys ran from Castleford on Sundays.
189 Leeds - Pontefract Road via Hunslet, Stourton and Oulton to Methley then Mickletown - Castleford - Warmfield - Normanton - Wakefield. This ran half hourly early morning til early evening with some early short workings Monday to Saturday then hourly til end of service with last journeys running as short workings. No service ran on Sundays except for one journey from Wakefield to Leeds.

Part 11
201/2/3 Leeds Bus Station - Dewsbury Road - Shaw Cross - Leeds Road - Bywell Road/Wakefield Road (203 only) - Dewsbury - Huddersfield Road - Mirfield Ing Grove Park (202/3) or Church Lane/Dunbottle Lane/Saville Arms/Back Knowl Road (201) - Dewsbury Road (202) or Nettleton Road/Nab Lane (203) - Three Nuns - Bradley Keldregate - Huddersfield. The basic Monday to Friday combined frequency for through journeys from early morning til the evening peak was every 20 mins (hourly each service), early morning journeys did part workings. At peak times extra buses operated between Leeds and Dewsbury. On Saturdays from early to mid morning along with every evening and Sunday afternoon through journeys operated every half hour on the 201/3 only (hourly each), and the first few Saturday journeys only ran part route. Saturday daytime journeys until evening ran as Monday to Friday every 20 mins. Sunday mornings had an infrequent service (most ran as 203s) with many short workings.
204/5/6 Dewsbury - Leeds Road (204/5) or Crackenedge Lane (206) - Shaw Cross - Leeds Road Woodkirk (205) or Heybeck Lane/Syke Lane (204/6) - Tingley Cross Roads - Morley - Gildersome - Moorhead (205) or Scot Green (204/6) - New Farnley - Pudsey. The 204 and 206 only ran a handful of journeys throughout the day at various times (including peak times). The 205 ran the majority of journeys. The combined basic frequency was half hourly Monday to Friday peak times with some additional short workings, and hourly at all other times including evenings and Sunday afternoons. A small number of through extra workings ran on Saturdays as well as some short Monday to Friday daytime workings. No service ran on Sunday mornings until lunch.
216/X6 Leeds - Dewsbury Road - Tingley - Shaw Cross - Ossett - Horbury - Middlestown - Overton. The X6 was a limited stop version of the 216 and 217 below this. The 216 only ran a small number of journeys at peak times Monday to Friday, early Saturday mornings as well as 2 hourly evenings and Sunday afternoons. The X6 ran hourly from around 8am until early evening when the 216 took over Monday to Saturday. No service ran Sunday mornings.
217 as 216/X6 to Shaw Cross then via Gawthorpe to Ossett then Horbury - Netherton. This ran hourly from early morning til early evening Monday to Saturday. A small number of journeys ran until mid evening (9pm approx) Monday to Saturday and a 2 hourly service ran on Sundays from lunch until around 9pm.
All 3 services combined to provide a half hourly daytime and mostly hourly evening and Sunday frequency over common parts of the route.
218/9 Leeds Bus Station - Geldard Road - Gildersome - Birstall - Liversedge (218) Heckmondwike - Norristhorpe - Roberttown (218 via Yew Tree and New Inn, 219 vis Yew Tree only) - Mirfield (219) - Bradley - Huddersfield. The first few journeys ran as short workings then the combined frequency was half hourly from early morning until around 10pm Monday to Saturday then the remainder of journeys ran as short workings until the last bus. On Sundays only the 219 ran, it had an early short working each way then ran hourly from lunch until 10pm with later journeys running as short workings. These services ran in conjunction with the X18, 221 and 251.
221 as 218 but via Batley between Birstall and Heckmondwike. The first few Monday to Saturday early journeys ran as short workings then from early morning until around 10pm it ran hourly with the rest of the workings after 10pm running as short workings until the last bus. Additional short workings ran on Saturdays between Leeds and Batley with one extending to Heckmondwike. On Sundays until lunch an infrequent service ran then hourly from lunch until 10pm then only shorts until the last bus.
The 251 ran via Mirfield, Liversedge Globe and Batley and only had a handful of journeys during the day Monday to Friday as well as an early Sunday working from Huddersfield to Leeds.
X18 this provided an express peak time bus and late night working from Leeds to Heckmondwike via the M621 and 218 route. One early journey also operated.
222 Leeds Soverign Street - Dewsbury Road - Wide Lane - Morley - High Street - Bruntcliffe - Howden - Batley. This ran hourly from early til late Monday to Saturday and on Sundays from lunch.

Part 12
223/4/5/6 for this group of services I'll go through each service individually and then explain the combined frequencies as they combine over separate parts.
223 Leeds bus station - Whitehall Road - Drighlingron Cross Roads - Birkenshaw - Gomersall - Cleckheaton - Pack Horse Inn - Scholes - Baliff Bridge - Hipperholme - Halifax. This ran hourly Monday to Saturday from early morning until early evening, no service ran beyond early evening or on Sundays. The first journey to Leeds started at Cleckheaton and the first to Halifax started at Wortley Ringways.
224 as 223 to Birkenshaw then via Moorend to Cleckheaton then as 223 to Pack Horse Inn then via Birkby Lane to Baliff Bridge then as 223 to Halifax. Monday to Saturday this ran hourly from early morning until late night with the first few early and last late night journeys running as short workings between Cleckheaton and Leeds. The Sunday morning and last Sunday night journeys also operated as shorts between Cleckheaton and Leeds with the rest of the Sunday timetable running as through journeys hourly.
225 As 224 to Pack Horse Inn then via Hartshead, Clifton, Brighouse and Lower Edge to Elland. The first few journeys Monday to Saturday ran as shorts then from around 7am services ran as through workings hourly until late night with an additional short peak working from Elland to Cleckheaton Mon to Fri and last journeys running as short workings between Leeds and Brighouse or Elland and Cleckheaton/Hartshead. These late short journeys also ran on Sunday evenings, the Sunday journeys ran hourly from Lunch with the first journey also running as a short working.
226 Leeds Soverign Street - Dewsbury Road - Wide Lane - Morley - Bruntcliffe - Leeds Road - Birstall - Heckmondwike - Cleckheaton - Pack Horse Inn - Baliff Bridge - Hipperholme - Halifax. Monday to Saturday the first few journeys ran as shorts over different parts of the route with through journeys starting around 7am and running hourly through to the PM peak. An additional short working from Halifax to Heckmondwike ran in the PM peak. The last through journeys ran at 5.10pm from Leeds and 6.25pm from Halifax with the remainder of workings running as shorts between Leeds and Heckmondwike (2 to Cleckheaton) every hour until the last bus. An additional short late working ran from Halifax to Heckmondwike every evening including Sunday. On Sunday morning, the timetable ran in one direction only every hour until early afternoon between Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton, I can only guess these are positioning journeys for other services but does anyone know if this is the reason? For the rest of Sunday from early afternoon, services ran between Leeds and Heckmondwike hourly with one mid afternoon bus to Leeds starting in Cleckheaton and one late journey from Leeds extending to Cleckheaton.
Now for the combined frequencies. Monday to Saturday services 223/4 and 226 ran 3 journeys per hour almost at 20 min intervals. Evenings and Sundays from lunch see the 224 above. Between Cleckheaton and Leeds services 223/4/5 ran 3 journeys per hour combining to form a 20 min frequency between Birkenshaw and Leeds both ways. Evenings and Sundays from lunch the 224 and 225 combined to run a half hourly frequency between Cleckheaton and Leeds both ways. For Sunday mornings see the 224 entry above.
230 Westerton Smithy Lane Est - Rein Road - Morley - Gildersome - Moorhead Est. This ran hourly during the day Mon to Sat with the first journey running as a split working splitting at Morley and the last bus from Westerton running only to Morley.
249 Morley Low Moor (Albert Road) - Morley Town Centre - Wynyard estate - Bruntcliffe - Leeds Road - Birstall - Gomersall (Church Lane/Oxford Road/Barrington Est)- Cleckheaton - South Parade - Turnsteads Ave - Scholes Whitechapel Road. This ran Monday to Saturday every hour from early morning until early evening with the first early journey towards Scholes starting at Cleckheaton and towards Morley starting at Birstall. The last bus from Morley finished at Birstall.
252 Leeds Soverign Street - Dewsbury Road - Tingley Cross Roads - Leeds Road via Shaw Cross - Dewsbury. This ran on Saturdays only during the day every hour.
273 Morley - Timothy Lane - Batley Field Hill - Batley - Carlinghow Lane - Dale Lane Top/White Lee Road - High St - Heckmondwike. This ran every hour to 2 hours Monday to Saturday from early morning until the evening peak and combined with the 274 to offer a half hourly service for some parts of the day between Heckmondwike and Morley and for much of the day between Batley and Morley. No evening or Sunday buses ran on the 273 but the 274 below covered much of the 273 route.
274 as 273 up to Carlinghow Lane then via Leeds Old Road - Heckmondwike Green - Liversedge - Scholes - Wyke - Norwood Green - Hipperholme - Halifax. This ran hourly from early morning until early evening as a through service in conjunction with the 273 as described above. From just after the evening peak until late, it ran hourly between Morley and Wyke with last journeys running as various short workings. No service ran on Sunday mornings with the rest of the Sunday timetable running hourly between Morley and Wyke and the first and last few journeys running as various short workings.
284/5 Batley - Carlinghow Lane - Birstall - Fieldhead Estate - (284 only Oakwell Hospital) - Drighlington. These services ran infrequent Monday to Saturday. One 285 ran to Drighlington via Oakwell and 2 285s on Saturdays to Batley started at Oakwell along with 1 Monday to Friday. The rest were 284s. On Sundays only the 285 ran with a journey each way between Batley and Oakwell.
401 Leeds Bus Station - Selby Road and the A63 via Halton, Garforth Bridge through to the A1 - B1222 via Newthorpe - Sherburn - South Milford - then A63 through Hambleton, Thorpe Willoughby and Monk Fryston to Selby - Camblesthorpe - Carlton - Snaith - East Cowick - Rawcliffe - Goole. Monday to Saturday, the through journey frequency was hourly to 2 hourly from early morning until mid evening. Between Selby and Goole the AM and PM peak frequency was hourly with some additional part route workings. For the rest of the time Monday to Saturday (including evenings) the frequency was hourly to 2 hourly between Goole and Selby. Between Selby and Leeds Monday to Saturday the frequency was Hourly from early morning until mid evening with some additional part route peak workings and a last bus ran on an evening from Leeds to Selby at 21.45. On Sundays the service started at lunch with a short working from Selby to Goole/Leeds then a 2 hourly through service ran until mid evening with last mid/late evening buses running only to Selby from Goole/Leeds.
404 Seacroft Monkswood Gate - Seacroft Centre - Cross Gates - Whinmoor shopping bus via various parts of Seacroft, Cross Gates and Whinmoor. This ran hourly Tuesday to Saturday from mid morning until mid afternoon.
406 Halton Moor - Halton Green Lane - Cross Gates - Seacroft shopping bus via various parts of Halton Moor. This ran only on Tuesday, Thrsday and Friday. 2 journeys ran both ways each day during the day and an additional evening bus ran each way (probably a late night shopping bus) on Thursday and Friday.
410 Leeds - Pontefract Road through Stourton, Oulton, Methley, Cutsyke and Glasshoughton to Pontefract then East Hardwick - Thorpe Audlin - Barnsdale - Skellow - Woodlands - Doncaster. Through journeys ran hourly from early to mid morning until mid evening Monday to Saturday. As a point of interest, the first journey from Doncaster to Leeds didn't arrive in Leeds until 09.13am. From early to mid morning and from mid to late night, short workings ran between Leeds and Pontefract or Pontefract and Doncaster to continue the hourly frequency between those points. On Sundays the through service ran hourly from mid morning to mid evening with mid morning and later evening journeys running as shorts between Leeds and Pontefract and the last bus from Doncaster running only to Pontefract.

Bye eck I'm treating you lot this week, ere's another installment.
Part 13
420/1/3/4 I'll go through each of these services individually then explain about the frequencies over common sections of route.
420/1 Wakefield - Balne Lane - Peacock Estate (420 only) - Batley Road - Alverthorpe - Kirkhamgate - Heybeck Lane - Soothill Lane - Bradford Road -Batley. These 2 ran as follows. 420s ran hourly Monday to Saturday with through journeys from Wakefield to Batley from 6.05am until 3.05pm then from 6.05pm until the last bus at 10.05pm. In the afternoon peak, through journeys (not via Peacock) were replaced by the 421s hourly with short 420s running Wakefield to Peacock hourly. From Batley through journeys ran from 08.42am until the last bus at 22.42pm with through journeys before 08.42 running as 421s hourly not via Peacock and Peacock having short 420s into Wakefield. On Sundays only the 420 ran every hour to 2 hours from early afternoon until late.
423/4 as 420/1 until Kirkhamgate with the 423 not serving Peacock then from Kirkhamgate both went via Haigh Moor Road - Westerton - Tingley - Morley Town Hall where the 423 terminates then the 424 only via Morley Bottoms - Bruntcliffe - Gildersome Cross Roads - Drighlington to the cross roads. Services to and from Drighlington ran hourly at peak times Monday to Friday only with all other journeys terminating in Morley. All 423s only ran a few journeys at peak times only as part of the timetable or as duplicates to 421/4.
The frequencies for these services over common sections are as follows. Monday to Saturday between Peacock and Wakefield both ways services 420/4 ran every 15 to 30 mins at peak times Monday to Friday. Off peak Monday to Friday (including evenings), and all day Saturday from early until late 2 journeys per hour served Peacock at almost an half hourly frequency. On Sundays 1 or 2 journeys per hour served Peacock at an hourly to almost half hourly frequency from early afternoon until late. Services between Kirkhamgate and Wakefield on the 420/1/3/4 ran at peak times Mon to Fri approx every 15 to 30 mins with some duplicates. For example a 423 ran from Morley via Kirkhamgate to Wakefield calling at Kirkhamgate at 07.51, this was followed at 07.59 by a short 421 from Kirkhamgate to Wakefield. Some peak journeys ran as 424s but most were 421/3. The rest of the timetable from Kirkhamgate ran via Peacock and so at the frequencies described for Peacock services. Services between Wakefield and Morley ran mostly twice an hour at peak times with an extra journey from Morley to Wakefield on a morning. Off peak Monday to Friday including evenings until the second to last bus, and all day Saturday/Sunday until the second to last bus, an hourly service ran with the last bus running only to and from Westerton each night.
426/7/8 Wakefield - East Ardsley - Tingley - Morley Centre (427/8) or A650 Britannia Road (426) - Bruntcliffe Cosss Roads (426/8) or Asquith Ave and Gildersome Green (427) - Gildersme Cross Roads - Drighlington Common (428 some journeys only) - Drighlington Cross Roads - Tong - Bradford. Monday to Friday peak times services ran every 15 mins combined with the 426 running half hourly and the 427/8 hourly each. Off peak Monday to Friday and Saturdays from early morning until early evening 3 journeys per hour ran (not at a combined frequency but well spaced) with each bus running hourly. Sundays and every evening 2 journeys per hour ran using all 3 services meaning individually served sections didn't have a regular frequency except for Morley which did benefit from a near 30-60 min frequency. Services via Drighlington Common only ran off Peak including evenings, all day Saturday and Sundays.
429/30 Gildersome Moorhead Estate - Gildersome Green - Asquith Avenue - Morley - Rein Road - Syke Road - Hey Beck Lane - Haigh Moor Road - Westerton then the 429 via Westerton Road, Bradford Road, East Ardsley, Common Lane, Thorpe, Robin Hood, Wakefield Road and Hunslet to Leeds Soverign Street and the 430 via Smithy Lane Bradford Road Tingley and Dewsbury Road to Leeds Soverign Street. See also 230 as this service combined to form a half hourly frequency between Westerton and Gildersome Moorhead with the 429/30. An hourly combined frequency operated between Gildersome and Leeds all day Monday to Saturday with each service operating 2 hourly (429s finishing mid evening and 430s filling in from then on) and early and late journeys did short workings.
431/2 Batley - Bradford Road - Soothill Lane - Heybeck Lane - Commonside/Haigh Moor Road 431 or Baghill Road/Upper Green Road 432 - Westerton - East Ardsley - Common Lane 431 or Bradford Road/Fall Lane 432 - Thorpe. These 2 services ran every hour combined (2 hourly each) from early until late Monday to Saturday with journeys until just after 9am running as 431s.
435 Wakefield - East Ardsley - Fall Lane - Thorpe - Robin Hood - Wakefield Road - Low Road - Leeds Bus Station. This service ran in one direction at 06.53am from Wakefield to Leeds as an industrial journey liable to suspension if not needed.
436 Wakefield - Ledger Lane - Lingwell Gate - Thorpe - Fall Lane to East Ardsley Bay Horse. This ran Monday to Saturday at infrequent to 2 hourly intervals throughout the day. Through journeys ran from mid morning until mid afternoon every 2 hours, with 2 late evening Monday to Friday and 3 all evening Saturday through workings. Short workings between Lingwell Gate and Wakefield ran infrequently during other periods.

Well I couldn't just leave it at that point, you can have a part 14 today as well.
444/6 Leeds - Dewsbury Road - Tingley - Bradford Road - East Ardsley - Bradford Road - Wakefield - Barnsley Road - Newmillerdam - Boyne Hill - Hall Green and Woolley (446 only) 444 stuck to Barnsley Road - Woolley Cross Roads - Notton - Royston - Carlton - Barnsley. These 2 services ran in conjunction with a 445 and 447 between Wakefield and Royston 445/Barnsley 447. The 445 ran the 444 route except it stuck to Barnsley Road and didn't serve Boyne Hill, and took a different route between Notton and Royston. The 447 took the 446 to Notton then the 445 to Royston. Services 444/7 consisted of a handful of short workings throughout various parts of their route mostly early on a morning Mon to Sat, one school day journey and mid morning on Sundays as well as one late night journey from Leeds to Wakefield and Royston to Belle Isle Garage, Wakefield every day. Service 445 ran from Wakefield to Royston Mon to Fri AM peak and from Royston to Wakefield during the PM peak just under every hour. The 444/5/7 were used to bulk up or duplicate the level of peak service offered on the 446 as well as to provide positioning journeys. Service 446 had one short working between Wakefield and Barnsley and Royston and Leeds during the morning peak Mon to Fri. The rest of the Mon to Fri timetable consisted of hourly through workings from the middle of the morning peak until mid evening. 444s took over from mid to late evening with some short workings from Leeds/Royston. Additionally extra PM peak workings from Wakefield to Royston also ran but these wern't spaced well in between through workings. On Sundays an hourly service ran from mid morning to mid evening with 444s again providing shorts from mid to late evening. See also the next entry on the 465 as this also provided journeys between Wakefield and Barnsley.
I'll describe service 482 later but the 444/6 and 482 combined to provide a 15/30 min frequency between Leeds, Tingley, East Ardsley and Wakefield Monday to Friday peak times and a half hourly service Mon to Fri daytime and all day Saturday from early until late. Monday to Friday evening and all day Sundays until late an hourly service ran.
465 Leeds - Low Road - Stourton - Pontefract Road - Holmsley Lane - Woodlesford Station - Wakefield Road - Oulton - Stanley/Aberford Road - Wakefield - Barnsley Road - Newmillerdam - Woolley Cross Roads - Staincross - Barnsley. Monday to Friday, an hourly through service ran from early until late evening (mid evening from Barnsley) backed up by additional short workings throughout the day at various points but more especally between Wakefield and Leeds as this gave 2 buses an hour between those points from AM peak to early evening. From mid to late evening, short hourly workings ran to Wakefield and an additional journey ran late each evening from Wakefield to Barnsley to complement the through workings either side of it. Their is a typo in the Sunday timetable as it looks like journeys are split at Wakefield between Leeds and Barnsley in that direction only, however you can see where they've gone wrong as the words 'then at these minutes past each hour' has been typed slightly out of sync. Anyway, the Sunday frequency consisted of through hourly journeys from early til late (or mid evening from Barnsley) with mid to late evening buses from Barnsley running only to Wakefield.
474 Wakefield - Rooks Nest Road - Lake Lock Road - Aberford Road - Oulton - Woodlesford - Swillington - Barley Hill - Garforth. This ran at infrequent intervals throughout the day Monday to Saturday from early morning until mid evening although there were periods when a 2 hourly service operated. On Sundays from mid afternoon until mid evening a 2 hourly service operated.
475/6/7 Wakefield - Bradford Road - East Ardsley - then 475/7 direct via Thorpe Road to Thorpe Brickworks and 476 via Bradford Road and Thorpe Lane through Middleton to Thorpe Brickworks then all via Longthorpe Lane -Lofthouse - Robin Hood Halfway House - Rothwell Centre - Stye Bank Lane - Haigh Road (475/6) or Pontefract Road (477) - Holmsley Lane - Woodlesford Station - Aberford Road to Oulton North Lane. Service 477 ran during the day Monday to Saturday from mid morning to mid afternoon every hour between Oulton and East Ardsley extending to/from Wakefield every 2 hours. From early to mid morning and mid afternoon to late evening the 475/6 ran a mostly hourly service between Oulton and Wakefield with some evening journeys running only between Oulton and East Ardsley. On Sundays from late morning a 2 hourly service ran on the 475/6.
482 Leeds Bus Station - Dewsbury Road - Tingley - Bradford Road - East Ardsley - Bradford Road - Wakefield - Crofton - Nostell Priory - Fitzwilliam - Kilnsley - Hemsworth. An hourly through service ran from early morning until late afternoon Monday to Friday backed up by additional peak workings between Wakefield and Hemsworth and between Leeds and Wakefield. Evening buses Monday to Friday only ran between Wakefield and Hemsworth in conjunction with service 121. No other details of service 121 are in this timetable. On Saturdays hourly through workings ran from early morning until mid evening backed up during the day with hourly short workings between Wakefield and Hemsworth providing a 20/40 min frequency between those points. From mid to late evening short workings ran between Wakefield and Hemsworth with a single short from Leeds to Wakefield. On Sundays in conjunction with service 121, an hourly service ran between Wakefield and Hemsworth from mid morning to late night.
490 Limited Stop from Leeds Bus Station - Pontefract Road through Stourton, Oulton, Methley to Cutsyke - Glasshoughton - Pontefract - Cobbler Lane Estate. On journeys from Leeds passengers were not allowed to allight until Glasshoughton and the reverse on journeys to Leeds. Through journeys ran hourly Mon to Sat from the middle of the morning peak (including on Saturdays) through to late afternoon. Early morning, evening and Sunday journeys ran only between Cobbler Lane and Pontefract every hour.

Go on I'll give you a Part 15 as well!
491/2/3/4 Leeds - Low Road then Wakefield Road, Wood Lane (493/4) or Pontefract Road, Haigh Road to Wood Lane (491/2) then Wood Lane Estate (492/4) - Rothwell - Carlton - Stanley - Aberford Road - Wakefield - Thornes - Durkar - Crigglestone - Painthorpe - Hall Green. I'll split this into 2 sections, Services from Leeds and Services from Hall Green.
Services from Leeds - Monday to Friday through journeys didn't start until 06.26. Before this, short workings operated up to every 20 mins from Wakefield to Hall Green and single journeys ran from Leeds to Rothwell and Wood Lane to Wakefield. The through journeys initially ran with a gap of 40 mins with some short workings again between Leeds and Rothwell, Rothwell and Wakefield and Wakefield and Hall Green, then services on routes 492/3/4 ran 3 times an hour (hourly each) with an almost 20 min frequency from Leeds and regular 20 min combined frequency from Rothwell. This continued until the evening peak when additional short workings ran between Leeds and Rothwell with some extending to Wakefield and included the use of route 491. This increased the frequency to almost every 10 mins between Leeds and Rothwell or Wakefield. From just after the evening peak to 21.47, routes 492/4 provided a half hourly service through to Hall Green with 2 last buses running after this to Wakefield only. On Saturdays, early services did short workings between Wakefield and Hall Green with through journeys initially running with 40 min gaps punctuated by short workings between Rothwell and Wakefield before the 3 buses per hour frequency commenced again at the same frequency as described Mon to Fri until 18.26 when this journey terminated at Wakefield. After this, through journeys ran on the 492/4 every half hour like Monday to Friday evening. On Sundays, a short working ran from Wakefield to Hall Green then through journeys commenced every half hour on the 492/4 through til evening with the same evening times as Mon to Sat evening.
From Hall Green - Monday to Friday until the first through working, short workings operated from Wakefield to Leeds every 20-30 mins with an additional couple of shorts from Rothwell to Leeds. Through journeys operated from 06.27 every 20 mins with some slight time variations. Some additional short workings continued to operate from Rothwell to Leeds during the morning peak giving an almost 10 min frequency. All 4 numbers were used at peak times even on through workings and routes 492/3/4 continued the 3 buses per hour until late afternoon with an additional couple of short mid afternoon workings from Wakefield to Leeds. A short working ran at 17.36 then through workings ran at 17.52, 18.14 and half hourly until 21.14 with 3 buses after that only running to Wood Lane, Moorhouses and Wakefield in that order. The Saturday timetable consisted of short workings from Wakefield to Leeds before a through 40 min frequency operated punctuated by short workings from Wakefield to Leeds and then from 07.52 the every 20 min through frequency operated like Monday to Friday except no additional mid afternoon shorts. From 18.14 the evening service ran like Monday to Friday evening. On Sunday mornings, buses only ran between Wakefield and Leeds half hourly then from lunch a half hourly through service ran with a gap of 1 hour early afternoon punctuated by a short between Wakefield and Leeds. The service continued half hourly until evening with the same timetable as Monday to Saturday evening.
508 Leeds - Stanningley Road - Bramley Town End - Stanningley - Thornbury - Dudley Hill - Odsal - Shelf - Halifax. As a point of interest this was ran by both Leeds Bramley and Halifax Metro depots. A half hourly service ran all day Mon to Sat early until late and from lunch til late on Sundays. On Sunday mornings an hourly service ran.

re service 508:
I don't remember it ever being run from Bradford depot. Originally ran from the Halifax end then at the time Leeds were also involved although later it became just Halifax.

Your right, should say Halifax and not Bradford, I had one thought on the next set of routes which are Bradford ones hence putting Bradford and not Halifax. I've just come on here to correct it in the hope nobody had noticed but well spotted.

Must have become Halifax only before deregulation, as that was when they extended it to Commons.

It definitely became Halifax only on the 26th October 1986, and that is when the 508 started running to Rishworth/Commons. I was on the Leeds roster at Halifax at the time.

Despite York's loss tonight thanks to another Matty (bloody tallented ex players why can't they ever learn!), we're still in with a chance so I'll not starve you of part 16.
610 Farsley Intake Lane - Farsley Centre - Thornbury - Bradford - Little Horton - Great Horton Road - Hollybank Road - Buttershaw Cooper Lane. This ran in conjunction with the 612 between Thornbury, Bradford and Buttershaw, see below for combined frequencies over this section. Monday to Saturday Service 610 ran every 30 mins through to/from Thornbury (every 40 mins early Saturdays) with some early morning and early evening short workings to/from Thornbury. Evenings and Sundays it ran hourly with some early Suday morning short workings.
612 Troydale - Pudsey - Thornbury then as 610 to Buttershaw. Early Monday to Saturday journeys did short workings from Thornbury both to Pudsey and Bradford/Buttershaw. These together with the 610 shorts suggest the old Thornbury depot was still active and used for these services. Hall Ings may have had a hand in things as well because a couple of late afternoon and the last 612s of the day terminated in Bradford. Monday to Friday AM and PM peak together Saturday from early morning until late afternoon, a 30 minute through frequency operated. Monday to Friday during the peaks, journeys only ran between Troydale and Bradford every 30 mins. Evenings Monday to Saturday and Sundays from early til late an hourly service ran with some early journeys running only between Thornbury and Buttershaw.

649 Bradford - Manningham - Shipley - Otley Road - Esholt - Bradford Road - Guiseley (Hawksworth Lane/Tranmere Park) - Hawksworth - Menston. This was the only route to serve Hawksworth Village in my lifetime and I'm really surprised it wasn't ever routed via Guiseley centre (for the train station and Morrisons), if it did then it would have been more useful for Hawksworth and Tranmere Park users. This ran one Monday to Friday journey each way (AM to Bradford, PM from Bradford), as well as a Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime/early afternoon return journey and a short journey between Bradford and Esholt each way on Saturdays afternoons. Included in this timetable was the 652 via Esholt to Bradford Monday to Friday mornings.
