Talking to one of the union guys at work today, he told me that Dewsbury is to get new deckers this year (sorry don't know a date). He said that we (Selby depot) is to get 06 reg deckers from Dewsbury to replace the presidents when Dewsbury get there new deckers. Am I right in thinking the East Lancs Lowlanders are 06 reg and based at Dewsbury? If so then the new deckers will most likely be for the 202/203 service.

Nice one! I heard about the Olympus's going off the 110 to go onto the 202/3 & Belle Isle to recieve brand new buses for the 110. But they have obvously changed their minds now.

More interesting though, does this mean that the T/V reg Spectras will be leaving the fleet?

The presidents will probably be sent to replace Olympians at other fleets

I think all the Deckers at Selby will go elsewhere including the Low Height Gemini's to be replaced by the Lowlanders & the Low Height Gemini's will go to Dewsbury along with some more brand new ones. I have a feeling something like that might happen.

The gemini's where partly funded by North Yorkshire Council so have got to stay at Selby and the olympian's are going in next few months as the depot loses 412/3 Wetherby's to Eddie Brown from April 2011 been told by a driver from Selby

Arriva Yorkshire are not shy of trying any new decker for their fleet, hence why we have such a varied and eclectic mix, ie Spectras, Presidents, ALX400, Olympus, Lowlander, E400, Wrightbus etc. If Cut End is getting new deckers for the 202/3 perhaps they may even go for the Scania/Omnithingy integral or that new MCV decker. Whatever arrives, it,ll be interesting in Dewsbury.

Maybe the new Integral Optare Olympus with Cummins & Voith combination ?? Maybe so, but one thing you could never accuse AY of is being boring with fleet choice, unlike First with their year on year deliveries of B9TL/Wrightbus or Stagecoach with their obsession with ALD or Scania E400s. Whatever Dewsbury gets im willing to bet its something we havent had before.

It was only t'other night i was wondering when Arriva would replace the (now) 5year old ELC VDLs. Dont know what they'll get, dont want to speculate, but aslong as its as high profile as he VDL Gems or Volvo Darwens, i'm not bothered.

It would be interesting if a new type was brought into the mix from an enthusiast perspective. However, looking at the 2008/09 orders where Enviro400s or the Wright Gemini 2 LH entered service in various Arriva fleets. Surely, it would be likely to be one of the two.

Dont wish to sound negative, but at the start of this thread 110 said he got his info from a union guy. This infers that it hasnt officially come from AY management, therefore at this stage is it mere conjecture?. I certainly hope theres some substance behind this, but until we hear confirmation from AY regarding new vehicle orders, we will have to continue speculating. Just as an aside, if Selbys Presidents are being displaced, then what about Heckys Presidents as they are from the same batch?.

Would they have to be low hight as the scout hill bridge has been taken out and the new one is alot higher, but they do get diverted alot along forge lane which has a low bridge and is there a low hight enviro 400 or are they already low.

The Enviro400's at Heckmondwike are already Low Height, all orders with Arriva Yorkshire have to be low height for some reason so I heard...

That is probably the reason, just to take precautionary measures. I know there is a Low Bridge on the 189 route at 14'3" & ALX400's are 14'1" I think, so very close to the roof when it goes under.

If I could get some decent odds I would be putting my money on some more Enviro400's I suppose the the key question is where will they be based and which routes will they be badged for, I wonder.....

Not sure if this had any bearing to this thread but Lowlander 1603 was at Selby Depot in late November.
I don't think it was operated in Service while it was there.

I have found out what the master plan is and Spectras 624-641 are not going anywhere for a bit as they are cheep to run and good on fuel 110 B9s are moving to Dewsbury for 202,3 but that still could change with the new ones still could be for 202,3s but unlikely. 10 new double deckers buses are due for the 126,7 with the Commanders going some where but dont know where at this point but arriva are not happy with them as they are bad on fuel. The VDL lowlanders are going to selby to let the plaxtons go as they are bad on fuel and Hecky could be getting more enviros for the 254 freeing up b7s to let the alx 300s go as they are costing 10k a month to keep in traffic but that still could change with there Plaxtons going. Im not sure how quick these chagers are to happen but it 126,7 sounds like it could be asap and same for the lowlanders and I will know more by the end of the week hopefully.

So: B9TL Olympus -> Dewsbury 202/203 10 new DDs -> 126/127 Commanders Elsewhere Lowlanders -> Selby Plaxtons -> Elsewhere New Enviros -> 254 B7RLE Wright -> Elsewhere in Yors Alx300s -> Elsewhere in group
I take it theres new buses on order for 110. Alot of buses will be spare with that order, presumably the last of the Ikarus Dafs and ALX300s are to be displaced/withdrawn?
