If i remember rightly, werent Spectras 624-639 originally cascaded from the 110 onto the 202/3, thus displacing the original branded ALX300s from this route ?. So if it transpires that the Olympuses are going to Dewsbury its just a case of history repeating itself. At least the Olympuses might look a bit smarter with the 202/3 branding than they do now with that nondescript 110 branding that looks like a dull afterthought.

They have put a bit more effort into the 110 branding than the 202/3 branding as there is 3 colours on the 110 branding & only 2 on the 202/3, they have chose the colours more wisely on the 110 too.

What?, so you think that branding thats predominantly black against a blue background is choosing wisely do you?. The 202/3 branding in bright red is eye-catching. The 110 branding, by comparison is dull, uninteresting and looks shite.

MCV have just brought out a new decker Which stands at if i remember correctly 14'3, not sure if Arriva would opt for the MCV Decker i could see Centrebus possibly but i don't think it would catch on with Arriva plus i am not sure if its made a success as of yet after its appearance at Bus Expo in November. But i guess we could wait and see as we never know until a formal press release happens.

I can't imagine that Arriva Yorkshire would want anything to do with any decker over 13'10" especially with the number of suitable options already available

I quite like the Presidents. Better than the VDL Wrights.

I quite like the Presidents. Better than the VDL Wrights. In what way? They are really tatty now, looking much more than 10 years old. The seating has never been all that comfortable (not when compared against the luxurious B10BLEs that also worked out of Selby), the ride is harsh, and overall is nowhere near as nice as in the Geminis. Add in that awful fingernails-down-a-blackboard shriek that the badly maintained engines make (why is this? First B7TLs don't make the same noise), and I'm tempted to think that even the mind-bogglingly ugly East Lancs vehicles might be better.

The Presidents are awful compared to the LH Gemini 2's but the Presidents are meant to be the best Low Floor decker ever built.

The Arriva Presidents have Voith gearboxes if you mean the screeching when they slow down very common for screeching noises, also present on the Spectras, the VDL Commanders and DAF ALX300s (though the Spectras and the Commanders perform far better than ALX300s)

The squeeling noise is the Voith retarder slowing the bus down, First don't have Voith's so won't have a Voith retarder fitted

the presidents are too slow of the mark for my liking. the gemini 2's are brilliant buses. i especially like the turbo boost in 1st gear when setting off.

They all should be the same at setting off, the Voith ratios don't change much plus in older & newer buses & the Turbo is meant to kick in in 2nd gear not 1st...

That's one nice order! I wonder if West Yorkshire will get some of the Versa's or Solo's that are on order from Optare?

Dare I say the Olympus would be for the increased passenger numbers on the 128/212/205?

Dare I say the Olympus would be for the increased passenger numbers on the 128/212/205? Might be a spare decker that will float around might finds its way on to the 281,2,3, saying that there is allways a lowlander if not more than one out of servise.
