Yes but couldn't it be kept as a special events bus ? Oh dear. Its probably worth more to YP when sold for the few thousand it'll get than the 'special events' contracts that YP may or may not get. I agree, was bit of stupid question to fire off as it would be worth more selling it! Remember these companies are "Businesses" and have to make a good turnover if you want to see them on the streets!

Again, I must stress, although Tom James is an enthusiast, he is still running a business. It's nice to say 'Oooooh he should keep this' and/or 'make this bus that, make this bus this' and perhaps not as nice to say 'the lights don't match on this bus', but Tom is running a business and to run a business, a, you have to make a decent amount of scratch from it (whether it be by selling vehicles or other means), b, you have to progress and buy new vehicles.
It would be awesome if YP could be run like a collection of models, and keep everything and put it on the shelf when something new comes along... But that's impossible...

This has already been mentioned in a new thread, I doubt it will be fixed unless they are desperate.

Where is the bus currently, will it be heading to scrap. Im guessing there will be all the insurance stuff to sort out now which can take a while. First York's B7L was parked in the depot for years.
If memory serves me correct James. Did you say this bus was leaving anyway.

Apparently so...
It was at the depot as of yesterday, I wouldn't suggest going to look for it though, might be seen as a little 'stupid'...

Anything interesting at the depot James, i may take a visit if there is any new additions.
Still curious about the recent Mercedes minibus, if you have details ?
So are Pullman going to have a short term replacement for the DAF ?

There isn't a replacement needed, DAF was high-floor, so runs it was on can be covered by what's spare at depot... There isn't anything new at the depot... The merc wasn't there when I was up Tom, but it's still on fleet strength, it's there to supplement current fleet.

So are Pullman going to have a short term replacement for the DAF ? As they are losing the contract for the 37 this weekend, that's one daytime diagram that they are short, so one less bus needed. But I don't know whether they'll be able to cover the school contracts with the existing fleet.

Trust me stevie Pullman are always swimming with buses and there is additions almost everytime i pop to the depot which is often.
Pullman has a few vehicles off the road at moment. If the 37 was changing hands anyway surely it would of been mentioned somewhere on the forum.
They normally use the Scania for that service (if that's the Holme on Spalding Moor service your talking about).

Nope - the 37 is the backroad service between York and Tadcaster, that usually used either the old DAF, one of the Darts, Tigers or any other heap that they managed to start the engine of. On schooldays, the diagram starts in Taddy at 0900 and finishes at 1500, but it runs later in school holidays, which is why I think it's tied in to school contracts. As part of the NYCC Subsidy Dance, the 37 is moving to Utopia next week, but I doubt that the school contracts will change hands at the same time, if at all.

Utopia been an operator with Mercedes Sprinter minibuses ?
Im suprised there is a 37 service with Coastliner running a numerous amount of services.
Forgot to mention back on the topic of York Pullman. The ex open top Metrobus BXY304V is now found a home down in Devon.
Unsure where the National has gone and the other Metrobus BXY143V.
Infact for anyone interested i can upload a current Pullman fleetlist i have been sent. Can you upload files to the forum ?

The 37 operates via the Villages between Tadcaster and York hence the service is there.

Utopia been an operator with Mercedes Sprinter minibuses ? Among other things, yes. They have a range of minibuses, midibuses and minicoaches. Coastliner don't offer much of a service to Wighill, Healaugh, Catterton, Bilbrough, Askham Richard or Askham Bryan, which is why the 37 runs, and has been running 2/3 times a day for more than 25 years.

Fully open top or closed open top. 304 is now in Devon so could of been 143.
