I hope they dont try and market these buses, give them a smart livery and they'll look good. Glad Optare have delayed the order and i wasn't illinformed.

Arriva are not so upset as the longer it takes Optare to deliver the buses the more money Arriva get back.

He didn't give me that much info just that they were late. The directors tend to keep tight lipped so lucky to get this much.

Arriva don't seem to have much luck with buses being delivered ontime Had problems with the East Lancs Olympus which arrived months after they were due and now Optare own them (now one brand) still being late at delivering. Thought Optare would be better than that!

Apparently the managers at Arriva Yorkshire and other regions have been in trouble for painting buses in the interurban livery as the top dogs at Sunderland don't like it.
My manager said all the managers and directors at AY like the interurban livery and when bus orders are made they ask for buses to be painted in it. However when the orders go through Sunderland the directors there change the order to the standard livery. He said some slip through like the 110 buses but others don't. He said they will always ask for the interurban livery as its there favourite and all refurbished buses will be painted in it.

Where did the livery come from then?

Well the name of the livery kind of gives away what it is meant for. It's like bosses at First WY repainting everything in the First's coaching style of livery!

I have to agree that the interurban livery does look better than the normal livery. As Arriva Yorkshire's network is mainly town to town work, the services you could argue are interurban!

Maybe this is why the Hecky Eclipses are standard livery whilst many other Arriva Eclipses are Interurban. Although I think some of the fleet looks suited to standard livery.

Intersting in that all the recent Double deck orders have been delivered in Interurban. All the recent Single deck orders have not. Is this typical with the other Arriva Regions?

In Derby, I think all their new buses are in interurban livery including the Scania Omnicity single decks and Optare Solo SRs

The 2008 order of Solos for the North East, the 28 for the Darlington town services are in interurban whilst the ones based at Durham and Peterlee which are allocated to interurban services are in standard fleet livery.

Hi mate, it is Optare Versas mate that are due at Castleford and not Optare Tempos. There are three believed to be at Optare, Hellaby in full Arriva Interurban livery and are as follows:
YJ09MKL, YJ09MKM, YJ09MKN.
Chris.

Don't think Arriva will have changed their order without testing on the guideway and taking a demo on.

Edit: confirmed it is a Tempo, theres also one at the front of one of the lines.
