In Huddersfield JOC days wasn't one the corporation service (trolleybus) and the other effectively the 'railway' service? Hence the differing fares etc.

Interesting. I do hope Heckmondwike and Dewsbury drivers are more adept at 'A' numbers than Belle Isle are. We regularly get 174s on the 174A and 174As on the 174. Personally I think a different closely associated number is better. i.e. 171, 172, 173, 174, 175.

Route numbering would appear not to be one of Transdevs strong points.

When I asked the question it was more about what happens to Arriva. Have they got a new site somewhere else etc.

Now that Belle Isle Depot and Arriva Yorkshire's HQ are up for sale what's the plan? Anybody know?

Earlier today (1030 ish). Arriva Spectra 703 working a 148 to Knottingley, Frequenta branded Olympus on the 110 and an unidentified Sapphire vehicle on the Pinderfields shuttle (service 111). Shuffle 'em! Later Sapphire 1944 on a 446.

Presumably this means one journey in each direction empty as well. What is it with bus operators?

Spectra 703 seen working a 444 yesterday. You would think that following transfer of hybrids from Northeast that Arriva would have enough for the 444, which at best is only every 20 minutes during the day.

1716 seen on 444 again. How many have arrived I am not sure as I just keep seeing the same one!

It was in Arriva North east Max livery. Looked as though it was unaltered since its move.

Maybe they should combine existing brands, new brands and the bus butlers theme, and call it " Rosso Espresso"... I'd probably have one at lunchtime next time I have a day out in the area. Just noticed a restaurant in Manchester called 'Rosso'.

Route branding is okay if you make sure the route branded buses stay on the route they are branded for. Unfortunately this seems to be impossible and that includes Transdev and Go-ahead. Arriva uses 110 branded buses on any route and appears not to make any effort to get them back on to the 110. It's Sapphire branded buses for the 162/163 turn up regularly on the 189 alongside similar vintage unbranded buses making the branding pointless. Perhaps the destination blind is the best form of 'route branding' as I remain to be convinced that the general public take any notice whatsoever.

I may be wrong but I thought that optional bus used Maroon and off white. Or have I got the wrong company?

Saw the new Spectra training bus in Wakefield this afternoon. Very smart. Couldn't take a picture as I was driving at the time.

I would have thought Joe Public still thinks it's a Sapphire route though so would expect a sapphire vehicle. if it's not why not move them to a route that is/could be, even if that means to another Arriva company.
