Judging by the article Dale still seems to be in complete denial that they had any issues!

The convertible MG at the side of it is not too healthy now either.

Wouldn't have thought the Lowlanders used a lot of fuel as I regularly see them being towed in ;o)

Surely the Volvo double deckers will be B5TL's rather than B9TL's? Unless any of the batch of B9TL's built for stock are left. It doesn't state bodywork either, so assume they will be Gemini's.

The A62 is closed between Cooper Bridge roundabout & White Cross Inn junction due to a spillage.
Arriva services coming from Hudds diverting via Brighouse / Clifton Common, not seen any go the other way, perhaps using Wakefield Road.

June fleet news from EYMS website:
9th Bus 614 (N746 ANE) has been sold. Loan bus 134 (YX64 VOO) will be returning to EYMS permanently in the next few weeks, and will become fleet number 794. The Volvo B5TL MCV (BP15 OLH) due in the next few weeks will be given fleet number 793. There are three Volvo B9TL double-deck buses on order. These will be given fleet numbers 790 (BP15 OLC), 791 (BP15 OLE) and 792 (BP15 OLG). There are three short ADL Enviro 200's due soon. These will be given fleet numbers 502 (MX12 CFF). 503 (MX12 CFG) and 504 (MX12 CFK). 29th - fleet numbers 502, 503 and 504 (details above) have arrived.
I assume the E200's are from Mistral and were previously on a 3 year lease with somebody.

Do Island Fortitude still have a stake in Tates? I see King Long have now ditched them following the bad press they recieved, so probably no more KL's for Tates. Island Fortitude seem to have sold or wound up most of the other bus companies they acquired.

Is 1004 still at Selby or back at Cas? Saw all the others except this at Cas on Saturday, I may just have missed it or it could have been in the depot, just thought it was a coincidence that it was the one Selby had borrowed previously that I didn't see. 1004 was working out of Castleford this morning when I saw it in Wakefield Thanks. Must just have missed it.

Don't really see the point in this branding as the vehicles will get mis allocated anyway onto routes that don't have that frequency and a generic branding across a lot of routes does nothing to help the general travelling public.

Photos of this on my flickr www.flickr.com/photos/clifton009/Both 630 & 631 were in service. Had a nice scenic ride on 630 to the Humber Bridge via Skidby Mill, then 631 back to Hull Interchange.

On its way, Volvo B5TL MCV Decker: Volvo has married its Euro 6 B5TL chassis with an all-new MCV double-decker body, and the first example is on its way to Hull-based East Yorkshire Motor Services. Volvo’s relationship with Egypt-based MCV is long-standing, with its Evolution single-decker finding a slot in many independents’ fleets. At Euro 6 it has added an all-new double-decker body, meaning that the UK market now has the choice of three (including ADL and Wrights) on the new B5TL chassis www.route-one.net/vehicles/first-look-volvo-b5tl-mcv-evoseti/Shame it's not been delivered yet. It would have made an interesting contrast with the Northern Counties Olympian working it's final service on Saturday!

I agree competition is a good thing, but it needs to be a professional operator that adds value for the traveling public & bus industry.
SGI certainly does not do this. Cheaper fares are not everything, you get what you pay for.

Interesting article. All looks a bit dodgy. Is Tates linked in some way to Island Fortitude as they have a lot of King Longs?
Ridiculous how companies can be wound up leaving debts then start again the following day under another name debt free. Unfortunately common in many industry sectors. Companies I have worked for have had customers do this, sending new account applications in the day after leaving us with a debt! The answer being NO you can't open an account! On what planet are companies who think they will recover the outstanding debt from the new company? More likely the new company will also leave a debt at some point.

I passed Bradford depot yesterday & could only see 2 yellow school buses. I assume they were moved to alternative parking so the drivers didn't have to cross the picket line during the dispute? All yellow school buses are running out of Cherry Row until Wednesday morning Thanks. Thought that might be the case.

1546 (254/5 branded) on the 220. Unusual to see a Gemini on the 220, usually B7RLE's or older deckers.
