probably will be a mix especially to replace darts, i remember when the only full size single deckers in Leeds were Nationals, only last 15 years they have been large numbers in leeds fleet.

theres no point buying single deckers if more people are to use buses! them darts are dreadful, hope they dont replace the dual door olympians though

that was a horrid livery, much prefer the Tillings style Red and Cream, grey buses, how boring.

you mean todmorden, halifax buses were orange and green. Bradfords blue and cream would be great, not on a gemini though, olympian or ALX400 bodied B7TL would be best

all of 5507-16 were fast performers on account of their powerful Leyland TL11 and high speed rear axle, 5515 is best to me

It seems to me that most older buses, like the Roe Olympians with First Bradford, and other buses from around that time, seem really reliable. These Olympians for example have been running for 24 years, which is quite impressive. But will the B9's geminis ever make it this far? Somehow I can't see 24 year old gemini's (B7 or B9) running in years to come. What does anybody else think, are older buses more reliable? the olympian type in bradford has operated there for 27 years this year! atlanteans lasted in bradford about 34 years and nearly 40 years in leeds

further to above 759 from Kly ran express between Shiple+5 lane ends. 68\68A BRADFORD Chester st-Eldwick was a joint bct\wyrcc service and the only BCT service at the bus station. Later replaced by a diverted Crossflatts service, but these did not venture on to Dic hudson's. didnt 76 or 78 (cant remember which) Leeds via Pudsey operated by BCT use chester street when wyrc took over ledgard?

nobody has mentioned the roe olympians why? they are the oldest buses at first and not only do they still look good they sound fantastic thanks to the gardner unit that powers these beasts.i remember when they were new and compared to previous other buses atlanteans, fleetlines etc that went before them they were streets ahead in the style dept despite the 5001-5020 bach been the same age as the later atlanteans.the build quality was superb mainly down to roe/optare high standard, i always thought ecw s attempt was a bit poor. i have to admit maybe been a bit bias as i v always been a fan of these vehicles from day 1. so are new buses as well made as older vehicles? will they serve as long as the bradford roe bodies? only time will tell. i agree the Roe olys are the best buses! there longevity is a credit to thos ewho built them, they have survived bradfords hill over a quater of a decade, 27 years in fact, 5001 was new 1981

Easi Rider / Fair Rider / Paul's Travel / Incognito Rider certainly were a quality operation! I wonder if there will be another renamed permutation arriving soon to the streets of Huddersfield. I can't think of one single major improvement to the buses of West Yorkshire in 2007, but some things to highlight would include the full launch of ftr (its not a huge success, but it's helped to promote bus travel in Leeds), the launch of Metro's third free city bus in Wakefield, and the big investments in new buses across the county. you must have a funny sense of whats quality lol. They were terrible in every such way, even worse than first!!
