Anyway, she looks very tatty on that pic. Both were loaned to Blackpool in exchange huddersfield got two east lance bodied atlanteans. Neither wore rider livery, straight from Wypte to Hudds red etc in 1983

Actually 6299 and 6300 were repainted in the late 90s into the green livery getting withdrawn around 2002/3.

Assuming the current weather is not a one off event, how would a trolleybus system cope with wires coming down on a regular basis - if we look to the ECML which has much more heavy duty equipment, and yet still has frequent problems with wind etc - not very well!! Weak argument against NGT to be honest, Bradford coped well for 60 years with trolleybuses in bad weather

The centre car was damaged by fire a few weeks ago on a run from Manchester Victoria to Leeds and suffered further damage at the hands of the fire brigade in the process of accessing underfloor components to extinguish the blaze. The unit was taken to Newton Heath depot for assessment. The centre car will be repaired and put back into service, with the unit formed as a 2 car set in the meantime. As for DDA, the rolling stock owners are looking at their options. The owners of the Class 142's are not planning any modifications and the units are expected to be withdrawn by 2019 (or sooner, depending on stock movements relating to electrification and whether a case is made for retaining the units to provide additional capacity on non-electrified routes), while the owner of Classes 143 and 144 say the units can be modified to comply with DDA requirements, but have not said whether they will be modified or not. Glad it is to be repaired. Re: DDA www.porterbrook.co.uk/downloads/brochures/14x%20Brochure.pdf

Not really a misallocation as such, but just seen Northern Rail 'pacer' 144023 at Knottingley station about to work the 14:17 to Leeds running as a two-car unit, minus it's centre car 55859. I wonder what it's chances of returning to traffic are.

Been various mentions in articles, the original plan was for the standard diesel double decker offering to be the B8TL, then a few operators requested they fit th 5 litre engine instead. I read that the B8TL is meant to be a 3 axle replacement for the B9TL like the ones in Hong Kong. Might end up like the Super Olympian B10TL, not being in UK operation. Volvo missed an opportunity for another best seller not offering the Super Olympian B10TL to the UK, instead they initially offered a B7L, then the B7TL two/three years later

Thanks, good to know it is still around. The moquette on the upper deck is mostly WYPTE pattern and a few seats downstairs too In London in the early-mid 80s London Transport used the same moquette as WYPTE. So it possible it could have recieve these seats while still in London, but more than likely would have had them fitted after it arrive in West Yorkshire Almost the same..... WYPTE had leatherette edging unlike LT which didnt. I'm doubtful they received them at London as they were only fitted whilst being with First WY at Bradford as far as I know

What happened to Bradford's 13 reg Volvo saloons? Oh R reg cast offs instead. Bradford's newest buses are 09 plates I believe. Could be worse, could be poor Halifax. Sun/some readers, this is irony The new single deckers are in Manchester, ironic also as the S-FWY Royales were for Bradford but ended up with.....First Manchester

In my mind it should be all be regulated, i strongly disagree with a public service been operated for a profit...First etc
Having to pay premium prices so you can use all operators buses is a pain in the arse too!
