Woodlands, the exclusive estate running through the bottom part of Rawdon, is one place you'd never expect to see a bus service. Now, for arguments sake, the edges of the Woodlands area at either end are within easy reach of bus routes, however the area itself is not served for very obvious reasons (for those not familiar with this area, it's just too posh for a bus route lol). It got me thinking if there are other locations in West Yorkshire that you'd never expect to see a bus route for any reason. By regular I mean running daily and for use by the general public, so for example not weekend leisure services, works/school services, dedicated hospital services etc.

Though this has always surprised me as there are quite a few houses there and it is a steep walk up to Ilkley. Maybe the area is just too posh, yet there will still be elderly residents, kids, and commuters wanting to board the train surely? One very local to me is Canal Road/ Bridge Road, Rodley. I believe this used to be the Rodley terminus (way before I was born) but some bus drivers still used this for the 86 until Canal Road outside the Barge pub was made one way in about 2016. Of course routes run on the main road, but it was just very strange to see buses on that particular street. As for places you'd 'never expect' to see a bus, well there's thousands: Clara Drive in Calverley, the Springbank area of Farsley, Pollard Lane in Newlay to name just a few.
