UID Transdev learner Volvo B10BLE going through Beeston, Leeds. Bit confused as they tend to park up at White Rose Centre but why as that's an area Transdev currently do not cover. Happened last week aswell. Michael Windle They get all over the place, been seen in South Yorkshire and even Derbyshire.

I mean, it's gotta be more lucrative than the 29, surely. and what makes you think the 29 isn't doing ok? I didn't say it wasn't doing ok, I was comparing a route that is a vital link for lots of people; one that is the only bus to connect certain parts of Leeds with a route that has alternatives within a short distance. Not knocking the 29 at all.

Yorkshire buses are looking at covering one of the lost routes in West Leeds, at this stage it's not known which one but they have said to watch this space. My guess is it'll be the 9 as far as Pudsey. I mean, it's gotta be more lucrative than the 29, surely.

Or as some of the routes previously planned for the Wright SD electrics have now been axed there will be enough leftover for route 5,allowing Yutongs to move? to be fair no matter what bus goes up Halton moor it’ll get wrecked that’s why they call it the zoo I’m surprised first haven’t sent buses up there with wire mesh over the windows with an armed guard They wouldn't be able to get an armed guard for love nor money anyway, the police won't go up there lol.

That Twitter account is offensive, probably comes under the header of online bullying, and whoever set it up is probably in need of some sort of help He’s a normal bloke who runs a bus company, not a celebrity like if a TV presenter disappeared from their show without any explanation It gives me a good chuckle anyway...

I've never heard that before, but if they can't make Gateshead/ Newcastle work at the moment: they'd surely have no chance in somewhere like Huddersfield/ Halifax The black prince page on Facebook mentioned it a couple of years ago a deal was on the table but apparently go ahead pulled out at the 11th hour Fair enough. Was this pre-covid?

Weren’t go ahead supposed to be buying Halifax and Huddersfield at one point? I've never heard that before, but if they can't make Gateshead/ Newcastle work at the moment: they'd surely have no chance in somewhere like Huddersfield/ Halifax

I'm glad you created this thread as I had too had queries. I saw a render of a pedestrianised Market Street a few weeks ago. As anyone in Bradford knows, the Market Street stops are very busy; often more people board there than at the Interchange or Hall Ings. Without the buses taking a silly re-routing, I can't see how they will serve Forster Square and the back of the Broadway Centre. I don't know Bradford as well as Leeds but it appears that buses would have to go in front of the Broadway Centre and then take a detour around the tight streets of Little Germany to then get to the bottom of Barkerend Road and to Forster Square or Bolton Road/ Valley Road ect... I had no idea such 'heritage' services even existed. I will have to try them out one day. How do they manage to get around the DDA regulations? Is there an exclusion for these services?

The situation with the park and ride is shocking. As well as the weekend withdrawal, reducing the frequency to every 20 minutes isn’t good enough. You could drive into Leeds, park up, and be in your first shop in that time. The cuts to evening services look quite substantial with the Marsdens and 508 Even Ross Travel getting in on the act axing the long established 125 This sort of thing could only ever happen in Leeds. I mean it is absolutely typical of our city. Let's spend millions of pounds on pedestrianising Leeds City Centre and then further millions on bus priority... then cut the Park and Rides. If it runs at a loss then tough, that's how it is if they're serious about reducing city centre car usage.

The other day somebody posted the 86 will replace the missing section of the 508 does anybody have any more info on this as in which route it will take There's nothing official, and even if it does; it would cut Rodley off even more, as the assumed route would be Calverley lane up to the top of Farsley, maybe terminating at Dawson's corner. Also, if it was to stick to the operating hours of the 86 to Rodley at the moment, it would be completely useless for commuters as the first journey isn't until 09:20 and the last at 15:20. Oh... and the huge thing of it not going to Leeds or Kirkstall... but apart from that it sounds like another cracking idea for WorstBus to try out. I think the outcome of the 508 change will be obvious, it will either return to the route through Farsley or it will be withdrawn altogether. Anyone travelling from Halifax to Leeds is still going to use the train. An hourly service that now cuts out one of its main passenger areas isn't going to be popular. It doesn't take Nostradamus to work that one out.

Transdev Harrogate appear to have a Wright Electroliner on trial. I saw it as I drove past the bus station tonight.

I imagine when people suggested the 508 went via Stanningley Bypass, I’m assuming they expected a different service to be provided for the Farsley/Kirkstall route, which I presume isn’t happening? To think that as well as the 508 there was also the 670 (35) along that routing at one time, and now only the 60 remains? That's the thing. It's a bit before my time, but I believe that when the 508 used to run the old route (via Stanningley); another route existed covering Intake/ Farsley ect... This is now just a kick in the knackers for everyone in the area.

I’m sure that’s the exact routing people here have suggested for the 508 for years How many of those people will actually use it though? In reality it's caused a massive pain for people in Farsley/ Intake/ Leeds & Bradford Road and Kirkstall, as well as areas towards Bradford and Halifax. Dozens of people on the Farsley Community Facebook group have described how it affects them personally, and our local councillor (Peter Carlill) is getting involved. This is also coupled with the withdrawal of the 9, which would have offered links to Rodley for people to get the 60.

Awesome, that's me never using the 508 ever again. Word on the town is that the 9 is also withdrawn, but there is no official registration yet.

What do you mean by 'more bad news'? How about changing the title to 'Transdev bus involved in RTC in Keighley'

I wonder if it will be someone already within the company who will step up to the (ostensibly) vacant role or someone brand new.
I fear it will be someone who will have been employed to ruthlessly cut costs, and thus the standard of the company will hugely decline.

9A won’t run between Horsforth and White Rose. However they only talk about the evening contract. Oh dear. Strange. In my experience 9's between White Rose Centre and Pudsey/ Horsforth have always had much better loadings than Squarepeg's equivalent on the other side of Leeds. What gives?

Councillors are starting to get feedback following emails to First 9 between Horsforth and White Rose withdrawn. 9A contract revised to cover White Rose to Seacroft. A journey in the morning will be registered (9S) X11 new timetable with some journeys withdrawn 14 becomes hourly and only runs Leeds to Pudsey. PR2 will observe stops on Pontefract Lane Thatcher's Britain! (Quite literally). What do you mean by 9A revised to cover Seacroft to White Rose, as it already does? Attachments:

New route for 508 , cant disclose yet but commences April 2nd , and yes it is reduced to an hourly service. An hourly service between a major town and major city… Gonna have no buses left at this rate And I have absolutely no doubt the new route will totally avoid Farsley, Leeds and Bradford Road and Kirskstall Road; which is fantastic for both myself and also the people who rely on it in those areas!
