Cumbria Classic Coaches have posted a rather hacked off statement on social media slamming Western Dales Bus for altering the operating day of one of their services through Kirkby Stephen. Basically, Western Dales Bus have altered their Kirkby Stephen to Kendal service to run on a Wednesday instead of it's former day, whatever that was. Cumbria Classic Coaches have said there won't be enough passengers for both it's Barnard Castle bus, which too runs Wednesdays, and the Western Dales Kendal bus, thus affecting the viability of both services. It's a competitive move you could argue as I bet most users only choose one service a week to go on, it'll be interesting to see how this develops.

I had no idea such 'heritage' services even existed. I will have to try them out one day. How do they manage to get around the DDA regulations? Is there an exclusion for these services?

They only use heritage vehicles on one route, and then in summer only - they're allowed to use a non-DDA compliant vehicle for up to 20 days a year.
