Makes sense, given the current setup requires a driver and vehicle to ferry the drivers between Keighley and Shipley, and it should also improve timekeeping as some of the 60A journeys have a tight turnaround at Shipley.

Go-Ahead are certainly trying to expand the company! There's going to be quite a bit of dead mileage on the 22/23, I wonder if the focus of the route will change at all to see more diagrams starting/ending in York.

If you run through them at a reasonable speed you wont have to worry about it

If you run through them at a reasonable speed you wont have to worry about it Didn't end too well for the Stagecoach E400 in Greater Manchester on Friday. Still the fact remains these are tendered routes that carry less than 30 passengers the majority of the time (if not all the time) so unless a single decker shortage appears then DDs are not warranted

The 22 and 23 a combination of the 142/143 and 56 which came about with Transdev coming to an agreement with NYCC so aborting the former CC's plan to change them to their own minibus operation. That would have had the 142/143 terminate at Poppleton Park & Ride site. Transdev did for while run what became dead mileage working as a public service direct along the A59. More logical IMO would have been to tweak the workings so that one duty could have been worked by Starbeck. Now their seems to be situation whereby Transdev and Go-Ahead need to swop brands - York & Country v York Local

Now their seems to be situation whereby Transdev and Go-Ahead need to swop brands - York & Country v York Local It’s a six hour round trip with time for a driver meal break in Knaresborough so it’s unlikely Starbeck depot could have worked a diagram as without moving individual trips around to give a meal break in York then it wouldn’t work within driver hours rules. EY may perpetuate this or move the York bound trips by an hour but that is still a 5 hour portion and they will need to find somewhere to park in York for an hour for a driver break. It’s probably easier to leave breaks in Knaresborough.

Now there is a ridiculous amount of milage Travel South Yorkshire / SYMCA are currently running a public consultation on a large number of planned bus service changes. Proposed timetables and network maps can be downloaded from www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/April2024

They also house vehicles at opposite sides of Selby, I'm assuming the Route 8 will be based from the South Milford outstation (Honeypot Farm) what's only 15 Miles/20 Mins down the A1 from Wetherby.

What sort of vehicles are we talking? Mellor Orion type things? They might get more 'bus type' vehicles but at the moment I think they only have Ford Transit/Merc Sprinters/Iveco Dailys more closer to taxi spec (they are also a taxi operator)
