i'll go for 587 or even Rosso route to Todmorden as move been ruuning for years and had numerous service number and route incarnations along the way. Also, 587 most definately wouldn't be going. More people use it to get to Rochdale than on the 590 bus route and also alot of residents near Lydgate and on Rochdale Road use it as well as people heading to the moors for a walk or for a pint at the White House Inn. yeah put remember Andy1 said it's a cancellation with a possible change of operator so that would be the 587 given it's many forms and operators over the years.

I can see Team Pennine pulling out of a lot of services in Halifax now that they have run them for a while, Just about all the investment has gone in the Huddersfield operation. Team Pennine won't pull out of Halifax as the 502 is the only route linking the operation to other parts of the Transdev Blazefield network. The reason why Halifax has had less investment is because the majority of the routes are tenders and most them are ending 2023 summer so until they are sure which tenders they are winning they won't invest as much as it would be a waste of money. Never said they would pull out completely

Does anyone know if there is a reason why CT Plus have either given up or lost the 485 service?. I`ve driven that route and its a really nice one.

I think if it was to be the 508 (which I think is very unlikely) surely Transdev Team Pennine would be the operator to take it on. Running a 15 minute combined frequency with the 60 (maybe even routing it through Rodley via 16A route) then running all the way to their existing market in Halifax. The 508 & 60 virtually follow each other from Rodley to Leeds anyway or have the amount of times I’ve seen them on Leeds & Bradford road then the 508 sits waiting time at Kirkstall Morrisons, last week I had to catch the bus home from town outside Majestics and the 60 & 508 were due together back up to Kirkstall but the 508 didn’t show in the end. The 60 is timed out of Leeds roughly every 15 minutes with and A1.

This Calderdale cancellation has really got me thinking! I wonder if it is the 537 Halifax - Outlane - Huddersfield run by Huddersfield Depot? Never a busy route and could be run by Team Pennine all day. Or maybe cancel this route entirely and extend the 539 to Outlane? My ideas for the 508 cancellation , as I have suggested before would be increase the 681 to every 20 minutes frequency (admittedly it would probably need a PVR of 5 buses to cover the round trip reliably) but run direct via Halifax Road. Maybe one trip per hour could divert via Hud Hill (681A - as tried in the past by HJC). Or extend the 534 to Stone Chair and return in a circular route, as before via Bradford Road. I have never thought that the 534 needs to operate in both directions every hour up the narrow roads in the Shibden Valley. I can see that the 590-592 Halifax - Calder Valley routes would be a useful gain for Transdev, but First will not want to give these profitable routes up. I Had also thought about it possibly being the 537 as apart from the journeys around New College starting/finishing i agree they are not too busy,if they do look for a replacement i wonder if they could merge the 539 & the 377/8 together? If you extend the 539 to Outlane its only a couple of minutes extra to Mount roundabout,it would give Stainland/Outlane links to Huddersfield Royal, plus keeping most links currently available. For the 681 i would actually keep it running through Northowram Green & Hud Hill,as when i've used it thats always one of the key areas for passengers boarding/alighting so i think could warrant an Every 20 Mins frequency (or Every 15 Mins if we dare to look at keeping the current frequency) Isn't part of the problem with the 60/508 that the 508 departure times from Leeds vary every few hours M-Fri (Saturdays are slightly better) whilst Route 60 is flat half hourly?

At the Team Pennine preview day, it was for request that the 534 could operate up the roads of Shibden Valley. Also there was no point serving Bradford Road as they have two other more frequent services.

Watch out for a significant cancellation from this date , cant say anymore, but its run for many years . Very likely another operator will take it on . My guess is the 574. I don't know why but it is. Maybe First might take this one.

Fair enough. Also isn't the 586 contract now tied up with the 587 as well. Also I think in that case its the 586 as First have ran that for how long with no change in route since the 90s.

Does this mystery route operate entirely in Calderdale or run into other districts?

I would fully support that given one can quickly get to the Rosso network from West Yorks on one ticket

I’ve heard that from July change Arriva will be going back to a normal service on a Saturday.
Also does anyone know if the X32 will be reinstated from the same date
