PB0004451/25 - THE HALIFAX BUS CO LTD, 18 STONECROFT MOUNT, SOWERBY BRIDGE, HX6 2SB Registration Accepted by SN Starting Point: Albion Street, Halifax Finish Point: Commercial Street, Halifax Via: Service Number: 527 Service Type: Normal Stopping/Hail & Ride Effective Date: 25-JUL-2016 Other Details: Monday to Friday 3 times a day Well that's not in Metro's leaflet. Anyone know where this will be going? A replacement for the extensions of the 700 that are being withdrawn? Timetable on the Metro website for the 527. Looks like a partial replacement for the 700 to Round Hill and the 800 on Natty Lane and Tewit Lane. The rest of the route follows the 504 and 526 to/from Halifax. There's only 3 weekday journeys running at 0905, 1105 and 1205. www.wymetro.com/BusTravel/bustimetables/Bustimetable/527/

Couple of complaints on Twitter about the withdrawal of the X6
To smooth it over and grow their network, First could have introduced a Brighouse-Wyke-Leeds service, even on an hourly frequency

Couple of complaints on Twitter about the withdrawal of the X6 To smooth it over and grow their network, First could have introduced a Brighouse-Wyke-Leeds service, even on an hourly frequency I suspect First got fed up of attracting traffic to the M62 service between Brighouse and Leeds - you couldn't get a much faster bus route on that section. Arriva's X25 has withered and died over the years too. Is there a reason you'd expect traffic to be any higher on an express bus to Leeds now?

It was 10 years ago when the M62 was withdrawn and it was only marketed as a shoppers bus to the WRC. I can't remember what the peak hour timetable was like but I don't think it was attractive.
Combining that target customer, plus the commuters, and a wider catchment area serving Bailiff Bridge and Wyke, and the fact there is no X6, and the 255 is only hourly, might be commercially viable.

It changed a lot over the years. There was always(?) a peak service though.
