The South Pennine CT appears to be a Wednesday's only replacement(or additional service) for Stagecoach service 25. The Stagecoach 25 replaced Tate following their collapse.

South Pennine Community Transport are expanding into South Yorkshire with the introduction of the 257 between Holmfirth and Stocksbridge from 27 July. The service will operate hourly on Wednesdays between 0955 and 1255 from Holmfirth and between 1025 and 1325 from the new Stocksbridge Fox Valley Retail Park, which opened yesterday (16 June). www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=17179873936Nice to see some Tates services being restored. I myself live in SY and the Barnsley Bus Partnership is crippling Penistone and other outlying areas

This is an additional service rather than replacement for the 25 as that could be withdrawn in early 2017. Mind you with the way South Pennine are expanding, they may even offer to take on the 25 commercially!

I worded it badly but what I meant was the Holmfirth link into SY is proposed to be cut in the Barnsley BP (i.e. the aforementioned 25)

I think it's only the Round Hill part that is being withdrawn, there is another 700 still registered "Albion Street to Albion Street" I've just checked on traveline and the 700 still runs after 23 July, but it appears the Roundhill detour is no more.

To amend Timetable. No change to the weekday changes already announced (81 running Marske to Stokesley hourly with minor re-routing plus the 81a withdrawn) - this is the re-instating of the Sunday journeys between Redcar and Guisborough following discussions with Redcar and Cleveland Council - no effect in North Yorkshire.

There are no other options Leeds to Brighouse (except a train once an hour) The only other option Leeds to Wyke/Bailiff Bridge is the 255 which takes much longer and is only once an hour. None of the other options are operated by First, so if they split the service they'd be throwing away passengers. There are 2 trains per hour between Leeds and Brighouse, one via Halifax and one via Dewsbury. The logical option would be for the X6 to alternate between one journey operating Leeds-Bradford and the next doing the current route. That way the core section benefits from an increased frequency, whilst those who travel cross Bradford will still be able to do so without changing If they want the X6 to cover Leeds to Bradford every ten minutes, but don't want to do the same for the Bradford to Huddersfield section I wonder if they've considered an alternate X8 running X6 route Leeds to Odsal but then a limited stop version of the 508 between Odsal and Halifax. This should still be quicker end to end than the 508 although might undermine the 681 a little. I wouldn't worry too much about lack of Streetdecks, in other area's such as Eastern Counties they've just refurbished existing Gemini's to the same standards as their new buses to create spares.

X63 to run every 10 mins shared between Bradford and Huddersfield depots! I was expecting such an outcome if this X6 rumour actually came to pass, and it increasingly became likely by every passing development. There are many benefits, the X63 and X6 often run together due to differing traffic conditions, but the big loss is the link to Leeds that has existed for 30 years. There is room for a Brighouse - Wyke - Leeds via M62 service, if only we had either an independent or a major group looking to grow their network that could run such a service.

With Bradford taking on part of the X63 plus perhaps the all day X11 that'll be a decent PVR increase at Bradford, they'll like that. Maybe they could give Halifax all its 576 back in exchange and still have an overall increase.

X63 to run every 10 mins shared between Bradford and Huddersfield depots! Bit disappointed that the fast service isn't retained, taking 47 minutes for all daytime journeys. The original plan was for a fast service every 20 mins plus the 363 every 20 minutes (the 686 also runs every 20 minutes, giving a local bus every 10 minutes between Bailiff Bridge and Bradford).

I couldn't see the point in running an express just between Huddersfield and Bradford. Particularly at peak times its hardly any quicker as it's stuck in the same traffic plus at Brighouse you just end up with 2 buses every 20 minutes. Unlike between Bradford and Leeds where the X6 takes a different much faster route than the 72.

Customers between Bradford and Leeds get free wifi, usb sockets and leather style seating. Customers between Huddersfield and Bradford get partially relegated to well worn 54 plate Geminis?

More great thinking there by First on the X6, relegating the service to the X63. What about us Huddersfield people that use it end to end? So we now have to change at Bradford and it leaves us with nothing in the way of attractive bus travel between Huddersfield and LeEdstaston. I nearly 700 quid a year for a bus only Metro card looks like I'm going to have to start paying for the train as well now too.
When is WY going to be free of First?
