Seen at Waterloo since monday, have been 3 Gemini's, 2 President's, the Heart FM Trident and a UID Arriva liveried ALX or President. 7 deckers at Waterloo. This must be the biggest decker allocation at Waterloo since Stagecoach, though i suspect this will probably contract as YT's decker movement's seem pretty fluid between depots. 896 is withdrawn as is the ex selby president. The alx400 is V.O.R so only 880, 881, 831, 832 & 834 are in service.

I passed it on Wakefield Rd and it definitely had passengers on.

TBH i thought 896 had been withdrawn a while ago, one of my previous posts did allude to this. As you say, probably on borrowed time now, but deffo out in service this morning. Do you know if 770 is back at Hudds permanently?.

Omnicity 782 also now working out of Leeds depot on 29 today. I'm guessing it makes sense for 782 & 783 to be based at Leeds so they only have 2 vehicle types at the depot. If they are only doing the airport services it would make sense to repaint them, but many other vehicles would be ahead of the, in the paint queue, if that queue even existed at all!

896 was also on the 231/2 Double Decker Diagram(12:35 from Wakefield) this afternoon, so withdrawal escapes it just yet!

However the desti blind appears to be have been withdrawn. i've seen it a few times in the last week or so with just a paper sticker in the window for the route no. Perhaps it's a new YT policy, withdraw the desti blind first and the rest of the bus will follow in due course.

Are the 2 Scania Olympus Darwens coming back to Huddersfield when Leeds shuts ?? This will leave Huddersfield with 6 decent doubles then ( inc the 4 geminis)

It may also make sense for the evolutions that didnt have there luggage racks removed when transferred to waterloo to leeds to go to idle and on to flying tiger. 227, 228 300, 339 & 340 will either get centralised at waterloo or elland or even transfer to tiger blue (my guess is elland or tiger blue).

Nigel featham has tweeted a pic of a versa arriving at Idle. Only over a fortnight until Kirkstall shuts and flying tiger relocates. The count down offically starts for mass fleet changes this week.

I can also see 880 and 881 off back to elland and 891, 897,898 & 899 returning to Waterloo with 894 and 895 whilst 892 i dont know about (it may stay and get convert to single door or be sold on or scrapped).

I would guess the Arriva livery single decks drafted in recently would be withdrawn. There is always the chance some of the better vehicles could move elsewhere within Arriva as they might be seen as too good for lower profile work at what is supposed to be a low cost operation.

My guess for what it's worth the ALX400 Volvo B7's ex Arriva Yorkshire will go first. Arriva didn't have any problems moving the rest of that batch on so there should be some potential buyers out there for these, could also include 662......
The B7 Presidents which had been parked up at Belle Isle also appear to have been moved so 880 and 881 and any other B7 at Elland could be close to the top of those leaving.

Inter mixing of orange and blue vehicles on routes is quite frequent. But the best so far had to be the K Line liveried Wright single decker operating on the YT service from Holmfirth to Wakefield. Just one livery would be a good idea.

The ALX400's have a better chance of staying - as they can be made DDA easier as proved by resale. The presidents could not be made DDA as it wouldn't be econmical enough, only 2 left at Waterloo(Being 880/881) after 686 had a meeting with a wall in Halifax not long ago..

Also anyone got any idea when the Optare Metrodecker demonstrator is due for its trial period??? (Would be intresting if the Metrocity demonstrator spent time there too) The Orange Metrodecker is currently reported to have just gone as a demonstrator to New Adventure Travel in Cardiff & the Welsh Valleys, I'm starting to wonder if someone at either Arriva or Optare have had a change of mind about it spending a lot of time there (First have taken a blue one on long term trial that perhaps is fulfilling that testing role from Optare's perspective).

I believe the blue First one is with South Yorkshire's Rotherham depot, and is currently being used on the X78 for comparison with the regular Streetdecks on that route.
