Very smart! That little bit of extra branding breaks up the huuuuge block of red nicely compared with the standard new Transdev livery.

Has the routing been confirmed, will Cityzap stick to the A64 like 843 or will it run via Cross Green via the East Leeds link road and M1 like the previous 743 rush hour journeys.

Buses will have sat navs that will allow drivers to pick whichever route is likely to be quicker depending on the traffic.

A very smart eye-catching livery, In my humble opinion, so much better than the drab, dreary, boring "36" livery. However, that said it's no reflection on the new buses, they're fantastic!. I just wish the 36 could have had the Cityzap "Pzazz" colourwise.

Re-reading my above post, i should have made clear i was referring to the old predominantly black 36 livery carried by the previous B7TL's on this route. The new livery on the B5TL's looks marginally better, but still too much black for me. Just a bystanders opinion which, no doubt many will disagree with.

Agree, far too much black. They don't stand out like they should on cloudy days, the bright green on keighley's refurbished b7's stand out more when they pass through Harrogate!

IIRC black was chosen for the 36 to reflect the typical luxury vehicle, although the initial version was offset by the extent of silver and red as well as the large 36 lozenge. See the picture on Scott Pooles blog for how eye catching the original was if you have forgotten www.scottpoolesbusblog.com/current-events/the-36-from-1924-to-riding-redefinedUnfortunately the later versions extended the predominance of the black and relegated the silver to a far more minor role which did not offset the black as much, being low down and faded out on the City Connect version. To bring the topic back to the thread I have read on Flickr that the CityZap is a reaction by Transdev to a plan by Connexions to launch a York-Leeds service in May, with the implication that Connexions have dropped it. This would explain WYIS originally reporting the Geminis as going to Keighley.

It was the Blackburn examples that were originally rumoured to be for Keighley.
I seriously doubt such a larg project like Cityzap was just invented based on what Connexions are rumoured to be doing, can you post a link to the relevant photo on Flickr?

Starting the summer timetable earlier and introducing this service are obviously the latest initiatives to drive growth at Transdev, along with the extended 762, increased 66, the 36 relaunch, the late night buses, the Witch Way to Skipton, Boxing Day services, Tadfaster etc etc.

Keighley's green livery, much more to my taste too. Be glad you haven't got the Witch Way livery, black and grey! Taste is just a weird personal thing, surprisingly i actually like the new Witch Way livery. For some unknown reason, it just seems to work for me.

I'm not entirely sure about the "sexy witch" used on the newer livery compared to the more classic design of witch used previously. Not sure what image it portrays.
