In Bowling depot today, half a dozen Streetlites including 63276/7,63280 and 63286. All in Bradford branding. At least one was registered SL15 ZFK. Also a Holmfirth Conection Royale. Which royale?

Bradford batch is 63277-63288 In your previous post you said 63276 is at Bradford, did you notice which area that was branded for or are we now expecting 13?

Might have been mistaken, I snook into the depot, there were certainly six there. You're right though sources say just 12. There was the Royale and a wrecker in the way too. I'm probably wrong. Soz!

Definately 63279 & 63282. with possibly 4 others by the fence on Bowling Back Lane (difficult to see because of the bushes), plus at least 2 more poking their noses out from behind all the parked up vehicles on the left side of the main building.

Nice to see they got large size front fleet nos, I do not like these small numbers on the front of repainted buses

I've travelled on them a few times. I was a little surprised that the layout is 2+2 throughout given that the first 'Red Arrows' were 2+1 at the front. Also, the front of the painted buses look almost identical to TJ Walsh now that the deep red flecks aren't there. Whilst I realise this won't catch us out, Joe Public might not be so observant. Of all the colours to choose, they had to brand them using a colour almost identical to their rival...

That's the idea. That's also why their fares are cheaper. Shame folk in Brighouse can't get cheap fares where First have a monopoly on the route.

Every company does it, just look at the Stagecoach route 3 branding in Preston, they couldn't have made their buses look more like Preston Bus vehicles if they'd asked the Rotala paintshop to paint them! Look in the supermarket, how many 'own brand' products mirror the major brands in looks and style. Having spent an hour in Illingworth yesterday however I don't think you give Joe Public the credit they deserve as they seemed to have no problem letting the TJ Walsh buses go by while waiting for a Red Arrow. Anyway if Metro get their way passengers will have to get used to every bus in the county being the same colour.

I've not had a chance to get on one yet.

I know little about gearboxes so I can't really comment, sorry (I remember that I used to ride around Sheffield on Dennis Dominators in the late 70s and 80s which had Voith gearboxes and those lovely Rolls-Royce engines though!)

In Sheffield you must also have had an opportunity to try the Voith box connected to both Leyland and Gardner engines as well as the Rolls-Royce

You might be right. Certainly 'Herries Road' garage had a good allocation of Atlanteans and Dominators.

Driver training has being occurring this week and all are currently stickered up with fleet names. When the First management representative spoke on radio Leeds during the Bradford driver`s strike, he was at pains to suggest that in reply to the aged Bradford stock of vehicles ( which was a union critisism ),new vehicles would arrive in July. What he didn`t say was that they would gather expensive dust in the depot yard for nearly 2 months. Money to burn? Regards Gary

There were quite a few of Bradford's new Streetlites out on Sunday, 63277/280/282 on 636/637 and a few more on 621. Noticed 63280 just carries the name 'Singh' on the front and not 'Satnam Singh' as detailed in the T & A article. 63287 not carrying any name today.
None of those on 636/7 seem to be able to clear the mini roundabout at Clayton terminus in one manoeuvre, each had to reverse at least once, not sure if this happens regularly with the other stock, it's years since I've been to Clayton until today.
