Just to prove nothing is ever as it seems with Transdev Blazefield the new Black B9 that appeared to be for the 36 has been seen in Manchester on the X43.

It is odd that this is operating in Burnley with Harrogate route 36 livery. Maybe it is just a short-term loan.

Has anyone got an opinion on the 36 livery?. Personally i think it's dreadful, almost as bad as BT's horrific nearly all-black livery. Black painted buses are nearly always filthy, it looks boring on a vehicle the size of a bus and to me, shows a complete lack of imagination from whoever commissioned that livery. Transdev are noted for smart bright liveries in the company, Look at K&D's green&blue or LU's blue&gold for example. But they've shot themselves in the foot with the 36 colours. It looks pants. Agree/Disagree - Cue debate!.

The 36 vehicles even when dirty look a dam sight better that those in the butterscotch and maroon which when dirty look like the butterscotch is leaking into the maroon. The Blazefield part of Trandev has had some pretty ropy liveries; The Zone, Spot On and the dreadful grey and red Keighley livery.

Interesting regarding he Presidents. They've definately robbed Peter to pay Paul there, meaning step entrance Olympians will still appear across Blackburn's network. ;D I'm guessing they probably won't be appearing on high-frequency high-profile routes where they are in competition with the principal operator in the area, though? First York and Transdev both run every 7–8 minutes between the university and the city centre, at a reduced fare (still only £2 return on both operators, despite First's normal fare for that zone being £3.50), which shows what intense competition there is on that route. If they can have more modern looking buses with wheelchair access, that puts them in a much stronger position to compete than keeping a mixed fleet of some Olympians. You call it robbing Peter to pay Paul – I call it sensible deployment of vehicles to the most appropriate route!

There are some timetable changes in Lancashire which may have affected the vehicle requirements.

There are some timetable changes in Lancashire which may have affected the vehicle requirements. A number of double deckers operate Blackburn's Spot On network because they interwork with schools. I believe 5 are needed on the 4/9/14. In the past some could be Presidents whereas now less will be Presidents. There is also 1 dd on the 152 and those on the Lancashire Way.

On the 36 livery question, I completely agree with Driver 6540 - total lack of imagination and looks grubby almost all the time. It should have at least had more red relief applied. The silver lines on the upper deck are barely visible, and the swooping silver line on the waist looks like an afterthought which doesn't really fit with the rest of the design. Bored with Best Impressions now as well, very predictable and commonality of application across different operators they work for makes different operators all look rather similar, right down to the fonts. Also a bit of a pain to photograph, but then it does look similar regardless of sun, cloud or rain. All in my humble opinion of course! Regards Steve

I very much doubt that it is permanent, but a short-term loan over the winter while they have some spare, possibly while a permanent move bus is liveried up for B&P. I don't know how many new buses Coastliner have coming now, but I doubt it would be enough to replace all the 55-regs and any 08s, and they always shift the older ones first. It would be unusual for them to shift buses less than 6 years old.
