From reading the above posts, First only seem to be trialling the StreetLites. Do we know of any firm orders yet?. Based on what First have done in the past (as well as other operators), If a smaller bus can do the job of a bigger bus and there's a significant cost saving then they'll be ordered in their droves. Look to the recent past when all the ex-NBC buses were deemed to be obsolete by their new operators. Leyland Atlanteans/Olympians/National's and Bristol VR's were all replaced by step and LF Darts etc. I'll bet anyone on this forum can quote a route anywhere in the county that perhaps a decade ago ran almost exclusively with deckers, Fast forward a decade and the same service (should it exist) will probably be run at a quarter of the frequency and by Solo's or Midibuses etc. Ever since de-reg most bus companies have down-sized wherever possible. First are no different.

Isn't the Pulsar exactly the same model as the Eclipse Urban, just that it is on the VDL (Arriva's choice) rather than Volvo. Wrightbus always give the same model multiple names depending on the chassis. Pulsar is lightweight with small wheels, hence why i think the streetlite should be compared to it not the eclipse,a heavy weight bus,put apart from that yes,its the same bus on different chassis Pulsars are only slightly lightweight & has small wheels because the of the VDL chassis that it is built on, it wasn't intended by Wright to be their dedicated lightweight bus, the body is the exact same body as an Eclipse etc. & the Streetlite is even lighter than the Pulsars.

They look smart and clearly have the new pink handrails, and I reckon also grey leather seats but I couldn't quite tell. This picture is the first vehicle I have seen with a 13-reg!

According to the 2013 First Bus Handbook, First WY are to receive 69556-69587, Volvo B7RLE Wright Eclipse Urban 2
All the Enviro 400s, Enviro 200s, Enviro 300s, Optare Versas and Wright Streetlites are being allocated elsewhere.

If they are going on the 301/302 Golcar circulars, they should have ordered the Max version instead.

32 Eclipse Urban 2's? Assuming Bramley gets the bulk of these. It would lead to the Axcess-Ultralows withdrawn, some Flolines reallocated as well as some Eclipses (probably the Hunslet Park allocation) to Halifax/Huddersfield.
We will see.

That's ashame, I'm sure many forum members (including myself) would want the enviro 400 deckers in Leeds too. They would have made great replacements for the ALX 400s,which are 12/13 years old now. I did know Scotland got some more enviro 400s. Saw a Flickr pic once. Can't see the demand for single decks in leeds unless they all go Halifax/Huddersfield which will be very good for both depots and their routes.

I am happy that they're getting rid of the Ultralows, a nightmare if you're travelling in one on a rainy day as water would leak through the windows.

Leaves me wondering where the other 70 vehicles are coming from with regard the 200 on order?
Or have they vanished?

im thinking the new eclipse 2`s would upgrade services 9,5 & 19/19A Meaning some of the scania`s get withdrawn & Newer Eclipses move over To Huddersfield/Halifax

Can't imagine any Eclipses leaving Leeds, and definally not any moving to Halifax/Huddersfield.
There are 40 Axcess Ultralows and Axcess Folines in Leeds, so with an order of 32 there isn't even enough to cover them. I predict the Axcess Ultralows will be scrapped with some Folines being withdrawn, no doubt reappearing in odd ones or twos in Halifax/Huddersfield.
I would have liked to have seen some of the Enviro 400s to go to Bradford to enable the '576' Geminis to go back to Halifax. Those Geminis just don't look right in Bradford.

Thank you for reporting this. The Eclipses may well have the grey leather seats and pink grabrails. However, with the E300s, Versas and StreetLites going elsewhere, I am suddenly less likely to come to Leeds in July.

I would be very surprised if Bradford's former 'Blue Line' route 607 doesn't receive some of these B7RLE's, in fact Bradford stopped repainting their B10BLE's below 60843 and some of those earlier numbers have taken on a decidedly patched up look over recent weeks/months. Having said that it would need 21 vehicles to replace these and Bramley do have older buses to displace so my head says that it may just be 6 for the 607 which has seen a lot of demonstrators over the last few years and must be the high frequency route in the First West Yorkshire area which has the oldest branded buses.

10 B10BLEs from Bradford are going to be transfered to Halifax when Bradford receives new single deckers later this year,Huddersfield are also taking delivery of 10 new single decks as well,i don't quite believe Leeds are only getting 30 new vehicles, Firsts priority for growth is the Metropolitan areas.

Is this a fact?. Are Huddersfield definately getting 10 new single-deckers. Or is it a well intentioned prediction/rumour?.
