It looks like all the routes may end up having the same colour green Connecting branding! so far 229, 268 and now 126.127 are all green! It appears to be the new National branding colour as it is the same as that on the Route 116 Streetlites down at Southern Counties too! I don't see the point in branding them if they are using the same colour for all of them. At a distance they all look the same - at least the First ones stand out more with different colour "lines". Also there seems to be an inability to put them out on the correct routes anyway. You can guarantee when Heckmondwike get the Geminis that the vehicles branded for 268, 229 & 254/255 will all end up mixed up on the routes. The Eviros are already out on 229's regularly.

I first saw it on Bangor based Darts about two years ago. Looking on Flickr, I see other Arriva operating areas now have it. Matter of opinion, But i think this new branding looks smart. The light green stripe contrasts well against the blue background. Eye catching, But not gaudy.

That would be an interesting journey - Lower Edge at 16% is a challenge for any bus, but First used to run their vehicles on the M62 route to White Rose a few years ago. Hahaha Yes would be interesting... I saw a photograph a while ago and there was an arriva Yorkshire Leyland double deck (cant remember the bodywork) it was displaying the 279 which was the old number (278,279) but now is just the 278.

Also any idea whether the 110 Geminis will have wheel arch brushes fitted? Probably not as I dont think I've seen a Gemini with Brushes fitted. Dont actually know why they have them on really.

Dewsbury based Geminis 1529, 1531-1535 were all parked in Cut End with 126/7 Wakefield - Horbury - Ossett - Dewsbury, Route Branding applied.
Nose in by the back corner was Dart 187, looks like this won't be running again in Dewsbury.

Gemini's 1538 YJ61OBN & 1540 YJ61OBP were both parked up in Heckmondwike depot this evening. Didn't see them there today. I had a chat with a driver and asked when the new 'deckers would enter service, but he wasn't sure as even they, the drivers, are told nothing. They, like us, hear rumours, e.g. Volvos 1100-1112, heckmondwike retaining 4 or 5 of these fine machines with the rest moving to Dewsbury, along with DAF saloons 458-471 going in the opposite direction. Heckmondwike to also receive 1600-1615. The presentation at Temple Newsam is on Wednesday 8th. March. Any drivers want to volunteer?

Current indications are that these Geminis will work routes 110, 126, 127, 229 and maybe 221. Roll on March for my next visit to Leeds!

A few Gemini's outside at Belle Isle this morning: 1508 / 1510 / 1514 / 1516 / 1519 / 1522 / 1524 / 1526 1537 / 1539 / 1541 / 1542 / 1544 The Wakefield ones 1510 / 1514 / 1519 for the 110, the Heckmondwike ones looked to be all for the 229, except 1544 was branded for 254/255. Couldn't see the branding on the others, but assume 110. 1544 - for the 254/255

I think there are going to be rumours all the time, I heard two different rumours yesterday, one is that 1600-1615 Lowlanders are going to Heckmondwike to be used on 220/221 etc. whilst I also heard that they may yet go to Castleford with some to be branded for 189/410!

Cas aren't losing any deckers though and they have no need for any more really so can't see them heading to Cas.

Until very recently I used to live on the 163/6 route, putting the Optare's on the route was a big big mistake.

Still not seen any later than 1544, wonder if they may be 254/255 branded when they turn up? Also not seen the last few Belle Isle ones, wonder if they may be branded of 126/127 as I assume BI will also put Gemini's out on this?
There was a row of 7 Gemini's in the yard at Dewsbury. The end one was 126/127 branded. I assume this is the full Dewsbury batch for the 126/7. There were a lot of double decks in the yard / depot building. At least 1 of the 18xx batch was there.

Amazing what Google can pick up when you search correctly, I have found a school newsletter for Sherburn Hungate school which confirms that their year 6 kids are having a trip to Temple Newsam on Wednesday 8 February for 'Arriva Bus Launch'.

Selby Allocations should be 260-2, 1500-7, 1600-13 & Small Number of Enviro200's to replace the Darts or this is what was on the cards.

Strange how arriva is going all the way to temple newsam to launch their new buses. Would have been better in their own territory like green park in Kirklees or some field in Wakefield. Not on First door step!

Observed 1545 (No branding applied yet) on the M62 heading towards Lofthouse interchange this morning. I assumed this would be a test run.
