They just seem more modern than the old BMAC, BRITAX ones.

Meh. It lights up, it gives the indicators it needs to. I couldn't give two monkeys if it was a halogen bulb, floodlight or LEDs.

Here's a question, according to this student protest group that recently campaigned for better buses up Headingley they have secured an improved service up Headingley from May. Does this improvement by any chance include the re-introduction of bendi's? All sorts of rumours are saying their coming back so perhaps this group had campaigned for their re-introduction.

May seems an odd time for the launch of this speculated student orientated bus service considering most will be going back home by then!

Good point, wonder what these improvements actually are to say their taking place when students break up for summer, do they involve running the 95 during the break perhaps? It would be an unbelieveable score for these students if they've managed to convicnce First to run the 95 with these Bendi's during the summer months. Maybe, just maybe, these students really can convince the powers in bus land to do stuff which would be seen as unprofitable or expensive.

I thought Leeds planned taking York's Citaro's sending FTR's to York. Making Park and Ride in York fully FTR operational. Whilst York gets maybe Geminis for the 4.

Whilst York gets maybe Geminis for the 4. That bit was never suggested by anyone ever.

I heard that one about 6 months ago, but I don't think it will ever happen.

It was 'in the thinking' that the above was to happen but the 4 was to actually convert to ALX400 usage to keep the fleet in a ordered state.

The improved service mentioned above, if correct, does tie in nicely with my original posts on Jan 15th : ........at least some of the B7LA batch 10038-43 are to be painted in a special student service livery and are said to be returning to the streets of Leeds very soon!
Apparently the service, and i'm not even sure if it's the existing 95 will be offering students a single fare of £1 max. It's expected to be April before the B7LA's return to service as they will be going away to Volvo for a refurb 'underneath'....Further news on the livery is that it is predominantly pink(!) although I suspect this actually means magenta.

They have been going back and forth to Birstall Volvos. Monday was the one with the Jet2 stickers in the windows and went back to Leeds yesterday afternoon.

The bendis will be going on the 95's in May. No student £1 fares as First said that everyone will have to pay even with a Student Term pass!!

Saw 10038 at Crossroads yesterday in a pretty dilapidated state, certainly didnt look like it would be going anywhere soon. Id be very surprised if that bus was back in service soon.

Speaking to a man with a Paint Brush in his hand this morning told me the first one had been painted in allover ORANGE.
Although he did say the need for a blue skirt will be delayed unless they prove to be unreliable again

Would that be one that is supposed to be going to Bath?
Their bendi buses are orange and blue.

Would that be one that is supposed to be going to Bath? Their bendi buses are orange and blue. The plan now is that the Leeds ones will be all Orange for the 95. I believe the initial view was for them to be Orange with a Blue skirt but someone thought that might make them look like Centrebus, so no blue.

Yes, it is interesting that First have two different brands for services aimed towards students. That is of course, unless the Unilink brand has been scrapped (does Sterling still have Unilink branded buses?).

Although he did say the need for a blue skirt will be delayed unless they prove to be unreliable again So if they're unreliable they're going to make the bendis look as if they're owned by Centrebus?

I can see why they have chosen to standardise the livery with the Bath operation but it's going to cause confusion all round, the 50/50A being the orange line at present and Centrebus! They should be put into a totally different colour or leave them in standard First livery!
