Another addition appears to be Alexander RH style (new to Dublin Bus) Olympian N324NHG seen today on school CH21. It's mainly red with some sort of broadside offside ad which is probably from it's previous owner. The CH21 (& CH23) were withdrawn by Geldards at Christmas with the services taken over by Red Bus Days, Keighley. Therefore this Olympian is likely to be theirs instead. This is likely as it did seem to be an unusually old purchase for Geldards

Also seen on the CH21 are Royale P429KSX looking very smart in Red Bus Days livery with underlined fleetname, and lowheight Royale N594BRH which is in a primrose & maroon, the maroon is probably the original East Yorks livery suitably adapted by whoever owned it last. Strangely I've not seen N324NHG for a while. Not sure if these three are the entire school fleet (1 must be spare). They also have RML2475 available for private hire. Anyway I think any further discussion on this probably now needs it's own thread.

They also have a coach, Plaxton N reg that was being used on a service to Rainbow free school in Bradford, although I haven't seen it this side of Christmas.
N594BRH is ex Harpur Coaches, based Derby way.

I see it passing where i work presumably doing a school, any idea if its been converted to single door (i only see the offside!) Have they got 2 presidents?? Pretty sure saw two together going pass Arriva Bus and coach at Gomersal yesterday morning at around 9.30. Displays was N and 2 numbers. Was that fast didn't see long enough. May have been an alx400 but one was deffo a president. Both buses were in the student purple livery. Sent from my GT-N7100 using proboards They've got 4 - LR52KVS, KVT, KWP, KWS, all ex Metroline KVT & KWS were noted doing NC4 & NC8 in Huddersfield last week, so may be regular duties (The other two Geldards buses in Huddersfield were M85MYM & M87MYM)

They also have LR52KWZ seen on the X11 on Fri. This one has fleetnames, all the others I've seen so far haven't.

Geldards are now running the Halifax Sainsburys and Brighouse Tesco free buses. They are using Dennis Tridents, which probably makes them a tad over specified for the loadings, but they are obviously linked into school services at Huddersfield New College.
No new timetables on Metro's website but the times must have changed to fit inside those contracts, particularly on Thursdays when New College don't start until 10am.
The Brighouse service also runs on Saturdays

26 buses getting repossessed tomorrow, schools are going to be covered by other operators until Geldards decide what they are going to do but from what I've heard they can't afford the bill.

Well they've not helped themselves by keeping that useless 28B running for as long as they did, I'd also reduce the X11 as have seen some journeys with only the lower deck filled, finally if they knew they had cash flow problems then if they had any sense they'd have tapped into those pesky brats they transport all over the place and increased their fares, especially in posh Harrogate!

Apparently they've lost nearly all their Leeds School services as well - am hearing that SquarePeg are doing all the Abbey Grange services next year (about 10 buses!)

Just heard an update on this, they aren't getting repossessed but they are sending them back when the schools break up due to the constant electrical problems with them and the cost of the lease, instead they will be purchasing 8 more T-KLD's and getting rid of a few school runs and drivers. Just a basic downsize of the fleet to reduce expensive costs

All school services being suspended until Metro can sort it out yet now it is a policy change at the end of the school term, although the company will be down sizing.........

As the school term has only a few weeks to run, perhaps they are being allowed to continue to lease them until then. Much the same as what Dawsons were "apparently" allowing SGI to do, until they upset Dawsons over another vehicle.

Geldards have lost Abbey Grange school services from September (8 buses) as per the latest tender award (we don't know if they put a bid in and lost or just didn't bid) but that is all as far as I'm aware. The other 32 services they run are continuing as normal.
This is the type of thread where rumours start, a bus company decides to stop leasing some buses and that automatically means it is because they can't afford them and are going out of business!

I did hear one story from a driver then I got told the official story they've been told off management a few hours later. What I said the other day hasn't changed, they are loosing 26 02 & 52 reg Tridents and gaining 8 T-KLD's so they are loosing 18 buses. Drivers going & a few school runs going.

Sorry to use the 'R' word (rumour), but there's a strong belief within the industry that Geldards could be going into Administration any time now, tomorrow even? Not sure if anyone knows more about this?
