Pennine sounds like a good name for a bus company. Orange and black livery anyone? Save on repainting. It’s gonna be called Team Pennine and the new livery is purple/red/pink Dear gods, what an awful combination! I've never liked pink and purple anyway, especially together, and I think red will just look awkward combined with those colours. I'm not so sure about the name as well, sounds like something you'd use for one of those team bonding sessions. Going back to my earlier point above, just to highlight how strong the Tiger idea was with younger children, I was waiting in Huddersfield for the 343 and overheard behind me a child say to his parent 'I want to get on the Tiger bus, not the double decker' and sure enough they too headed for the 343. They both got off in Halifax, so it's obvious the parent ideally would have boarded the 503, but the child had other ideas lol.

Personally, I wouldn't be reading anything into the name they've used to apply for a licence - it could even be an off-the-shelf company they've used because it's convenient to do so. We all know there are operations using different fleetnames from the registered company name, after all. Wouldn't surprise me to see the company name change before they actually begin operations, either.

www.transdevbus.co.uk/_/teampennineJust a quick search in Google and it throws this up. From what I’ve heard the Yorkshire Tiger brand is now beyond repair and which Arriva admitted a couple of years ago so looks like a fresh start from 11th July

it also suggests a vehicle increase as the reports originally were 61 but that's showing 81. I'd suspect they'll be asking for a number that allows a bit of growth without having to make another application. Also the allocation per site is the maximum number of vehicles you can park on each site, which you need to be able to justify with site layouts and parking plans (not sure how detailed the checking always is, or how or if it is actually done, given some of the totals I have seen on some big groups subsidiaries but it often worries our engineers that when sites are removed or replaced the total authorisation may need to be reduced), this is different from the number of discs you have for the entire company indicating how many buses you are actually authorised for. It is perfectly possible for the combined depot capacity to be higher than the number of discs applied for, it is not allowed to be the other way so you cannot have more discs than authorised parking spaces, as this gives you leeway to move vehicles between sites just like it is normal to have slightly more discs than you actually need at the time to provide some headroom to pick up new work at short-notice without having to go through all the legal processes of increasing your authorisation before you can add things. Plus the 61 was only the estimate of the number of vehicles changing hands with the business, not a statement of what the O-license authorisation was intended to be after the takeover.

It’s a shame Yorkshire Tiger is beyond redemption, it’s had a very rocky life and never really reached its full potential

Interesting note that Transdev did a mock up livery for Team Pennine on a E200. I don't think Transdev have any have standard E200's do they? The mock up livery reminds me of the former Pronto livery Trent Barton used on their Wright Solars on the Mansfield to Nottingham service.

I believe they have 10/11 at Rosso for the local Rochdale services.

Yes 11 E200s at Rochdale, 731-741. The WYIS fleetlist is already including Team Pennine; could their be a further batch of used E200s being acquired; presumably some vehicles will need to be acquired to launch the new livery or do Yorkshire Tiger have a stack of spare decent vehicles?

Judging by the mockup, I really like the branding it looks really good. Really like the colour. I'm actually glad they aren't using Orange.

Surprised Arriva are hiring driver for Elland, surely by the time they train the driver ect wouldn't Elland be in the hands of Team Pennine. Thought it'd be Transdev posting hiring driving jobs at Waterloo and Elland now.

Thought it'd be Transdev posting hiring driving jobs at Waterloo and Elland now. My guess is the contract will specify the number of fully and part-trained drivers to transfer, with Transdev paying less if the number in the contract isn't met. That'll ensure business continues as usual until the sale. Will there be anything special happening for the last day of Tiger operations on July 10th & what will the final duty being worked from both Elland & Waterloo? I suspect the last run at all will be the 321 from Meltham at 2325, arriving in Huddersfield at 2347. I think the last Elland will be the 2225 574 from Halifax, arriving at Booth at 2302.
