Yes I think WYIS have got that from the posts on Twitter rather than them having their own exclusive information

According to WYIS.org.uk, the two solos and a Tempo have gone to Thorntons. I'd say that's pretty nailed on as that's a Thorntons low-loader in the picture. Also, Alex Hornby's earlier tweet about the Tempos confirmed it:
Not everyone sees Alex Hornby's tweets. Would have helped if you'd passed on the tweet earlier.

Transdev planning new Mercedes Midibuses and Calder Country branding. Likely to apply to routes such as the 561/562, 574 and 577, I would imagine.

Just me that worries about their life span?
The manufacturers reckon around 12 years - doesn't seem long at all!

I have ridden on two Mercedes Stratas on Ribble Country routes 64 and 67. Whilst they seem to be fast and reliable, they have very hard suspension giving quite a rough ride especially on some of the country roads around Pendle.

I think these buses are a great idea, as I've been told there economical and cheap to run and there's not a lot of differences between these and small Solo SR's. I think they will do a good job the strata's, Transdev obviously like them, as Keighley got some and the little hotline and ribble county ones. I find it particularly annoying some people write these things off automatically because they don't look like your typical bus You're lke Joseph's alter-ego, constantly positive (which I prefer!) I've not written them off, just dont think the van engines with big bus bodies bode well. I'll happily be proven wrong. They have a cost saving comparison on the website & over their life span, it was as little as £3,000.

Just me that worries about their life span? The manufacturers reckon around 12 years - doesn't seem long at all! With a typical lifespan for an Optare Solo type bus being 15–18 years, if a Strata lasts for 12 years then it depends how much cheaper it is to buy and run – it might still be cheaper over time to buy Strata-type buses even if they need to be replaced slightly more often if the savings over a Solo-type bus are good enough.

Are they not leased like every other bus is?

The news article on Team Pennine's launch in August Buses magazine suggests a full fleet upgrade within 18 months.

I would agree with this Clearly cheaper to run, but the ride is rougher than a Solo And like others have said, will they still be running in 15 years like many Solos are

Interesting developments. Hopefully that’ll even tidy the operations and even the specs of buses. Hopefully a more looked after and maintained fleet with newer buses being introduced every so often. Also opens up new links especially between Halifax and Keighley which could do with re-igniting ( but that’s going off topic ) so stay back on track. Could do with altering the timings of 502 slightly for a better distribution of the buses between Keighley and Denholme.

Times have certainly changed on the 574, I remember double deckers on it when it was operated by First (going back a while I admit).

Not sure who would be responsible but saw a rather confusing tweet from Team Pennine earlier, stating that stops in the Riley Lane/Causeway Foot area can't be served affecting the 83 and 84. Alarm bells should be ringing at this point. It then goes on to advise people to use stops on Penistone Road at Lee Lane and Thunder Bridge. How on earth this tweet got out is beyond me as both locations are very far apart!

You're kidding me! What are the chances of having two areas with similar names in the same operating area lol. I was convinced they had mixed up two separate posts.

Right.
This thread is heading downhill quickly and this will NOT continue.
Posts that are argumentative are not acceptable even if aimed back at the original.
This is a thread to discuss the takeover of Yorkshire Tiger by Transdev, not to have a slanging match.
The relevant (Off-topic) posts will be removed. Any further deviation from this topic back down the arguing route will see the thread locked.

Good to see the Optare Spectra (2201 in its new guise) operating on all day service in Halifax yesterday. Although I was not a great a fan of these buses when new, I have now become interested in this vehicle, as it has become a very rare bus indeed which is still operating. I was wondering how many more Spectras were still in stage carriage service in the UK? I do hope Team Pennine keep it a bit longer to allow enthusiasts to experience it running around Halifax. Squarepeg in Leeds still have a few ex-AY low floor ones in use on school runs.

Timetable for Team Pennine's 262 service is now online on the Transdevbus website. Transdev marketing the service as "Kirkheaton Quick", however, compared to the existing Arriva 261 service, the journey time from Huddersfield to Upper Heaton is two minutes quicker on the 262 ( 19 minutes compared to Arriva's 21) and exactly the same time on the way to Huddersfield (23 minutes). Departure times are fairly evenly spread apart at the moment departing Huddersfield, timed at xx10 (261) and xx35 (262). However, from Upper Heaton they are timed at xx40 (261) and xx54 (262). images.transdevbus.co.uk/downloads/Kirkheaton%20Quick%20Web%20TT%205-Sep-2021_1.pdfwww.wymetro.com/buses/timetables/261
