Keighley & District are getting Dennis Dart 848 (V548JBH) & mini pointer dart 779 (X779MBH) back from burnley to replace both long darts 803 (KL52LZX) & 804 (KG52VAA). These should both be on the road by monday - 779 in starship colours and not sure what colours 848 currently wears. 2707 is in paintshop getting painted in all over white.

2702 is currently in all white aswell, possibly for route 124 at LU which could be in spot in livery.

I don't think the 124 forms part of the SpotOn network which is really just services that run within the boroughs of Blackburn & Darwen and Hyndburn.

The 124 is going to be run with DDs on there so possibly for that. But there could be a chance it will be put into spot on livery and used on that network.

The 124 is being operated by B10BLE single decks, in Spot On livery.
It was originally thought that the 124 was to be run by high floor Leyland Olympians and one has been repainted blue for an unknown reason

is anything gonna happen at York soon, the fleet seems pretty boring and small. Why can't transdev compete with first and grow some balls.

Why do you keep thinking Transdev should be competing with First? They're obviously making enough profit out of York as it is and dont want to chance their arm at making a loss.

I would have thought that Transdev would love to maintain the Status Quo. The last thing they want is to see First start to eat away at anymore of their more profitable routes.

Will they get Zone livery or fleet livery? Not sure yet - and not sure how long they will stay. I had heard they were getting B10's to replace the long darts. I will try and find out but they will more than likely change their mind 5 mins after they tell me!

I doubt they will get Zone livery, that brand is pretty much defunct

Not seen 848 today. However transfers have been applied to 779 indicating it could be the first of the two out. I did see it on road test about 3pm today. 803 is on annual service, not sure if it will work for K&D again. 804 is in still use, and assume will get withdrawn when 848 is ready. Took a better shot of 779 today, parked in a better place and had a better camera with me. www.flickr.com/photos/thrashmerchant/4170231542/?eOrig=4170144694

Will 779/848 work the boards 803 and 804 are currently allocated to?

I would presume so - but 779 has same seating capacity as the rest of the zones so could in theory do anything. My guess is braithwaites until it gets repainted, 848 is longer and may do either one. Both boards do a busy trip in the morning.

Oops! The caption confused me. It's these early starts i'm doing! lol
Question is, with the longer Darts leaving, does that mean MPD's galore on the 727/729 or are we gonna get variety (B10's, Olympians)?

The 727/729 interworks with the 720 which has a low bridge, preventing Olympians being used (except 389 I think). Given the passenger numbers on both routes MPDs would probably cope OK

Given the passenger numbers on both routes MPDs would probably cope OK The problem with a MPD and full length Dart is circa 10/12 seats in a overall capacity of 45/55 which at face value should be OK. Look where the reduction in seats is between the two types and they are all forward of the step, in the area used by young Mum's and the elderly. In that section the number of seats could be half as many in the MPD's.

The 0715 727 is a busy trip as carries kids to Parkside School (Cullingworth), the 1340 727 picks up Bingley Grammar on the way back & the 1530 720 Leeming is busy out of town. Otherwise the MPD's can cope ok. The reason the longer darts have been used on those services is they were sort of replacements for the B6's. We complained about vehicle clearances in morton (727) and Harewood road/Leeming (720) and was stupid to see MPD's over loaded on services 702/3/4/6. The company said the 727 - paid for by metro - was tendered for a 40 seat vehicle. I'm guessing 36 seat 848 would be used on the diagram that does 0715 Cullingworth 727, 0920 Oxenhope 720, 1040 Cullingworth 729, 1220 Oxenhope 720, 1340 Cullingworth 727, 1530 Leeming 720, 1710 Cullingworth 727. The other diagram currently a long dart is 0720 Ingrow - South Craven School 943, 0840 Cullingworth 729, 1020 Oxenhope 720, 1140 Cullingworth 727, 1320 Oxenhope 720, 1440 Cullingworth 729, 1620 Oxenhope 720 which an MPD could cope with though the school bus could be slightly crowded. To Westyorkshirebus, Blazefield did occasionally use other fleet colours after transfer - i remember the Volvo/NCME from Harrogate (S53VNM etc) operated in Red & Cream, and some of H141GGS batch of Olympians operated in Huntingdon & District colours for a while.

Also i remember one of the Ex-Sovereign Roe bodied Olympians operating in a horrible greenish greyish livery.
