Does anyone know how long the 482 between Bury and Bacup extension to Todmorden lasted? 8 months April 2016 - January 2017. Was just the same as the current 7 route on the Tod end

South Pennine Community Transport launched a 359 service between Holmfirth and Oldham via Greenfield in September 2019 (essentially recreating the old GM Buses 180/429 Summer Sunday services), which ran two return journeys on a Wednesday (effectively running at the same times to/from Holmfirth as the 357 to/from Ashton on Tuesdays). Ended up being suspended during the first Covid lockdown period in spring 2020 before officially being withdrawn in September 2020.
First ran an M60 bus service in around 2004/2005 between Bradford and the Trafford Centre via Queensbury and Halifax before heading into Manchester via the M62/M60 motorway and then along the X43 into Manchester via Prestwich before heading down to the Trafford Centre and then looping back directly to Halifax via the M60/M62. It was then briefly replaced by an extended 561 service from Rishworth to the Trafford Centre via M62 and M60 motorways.
Seem to recall that First Calderdale and Huddersfield also ran a summer service A1 to Meadowhall and Sheffield (think from Huddersfield but may have stared from Halifax). Also seen in an old Changing Times booklet that they ran summer services in 2006 from Halifax/Huddersfield to Chester and Chester Zoo and to Southport.
Obviously outside of West Yorkshire, but Hulleys' X1 service between Manchester Airport and Ashbourne via Macclesfield and Leek lasted two days in September 2021 before they withdrew the service due to a lack of drivers. Not sure you'll find too many more short-lived services than that.

Streamline started running an hourly service on the 301 (Golcar Circular) on 24/02/2020
I'm guessing it lasted about a month

One was the shortlived Yorkshire Line launching with the 53 then they ran a minibus service in Wakey. Grew too fast then went bust! Did they even last a year?

Oh yeah, Yorkshire Line also ran an X10 service from Leeds to Wakefield which lasted just as long! Gledards did operate the 53 for a while after Yorkshire Line went bust but it didn't last long.

Remembering somepoint in 2008 when the 40. Got its old re-instation back to Pudsey - Leeds - Seacroft. To replace the 73 which was created in 2000 ( overground times ) to replace the original 40 on Pudsey to Leeds Section. Oh boy that didn’t last long. Reliability issues became apparent on the route. I once sat on it to travel to Stanningley, driver got to Bramley town end. No replacement driver. Everyone including me changed for the 72 that was minutes behind. Overall what happened - maybe about nearly a year later the 72. Got a Frequency increase to every 10 from 15 mins as a result and I think the 14 was born by stapling all the parts together. And the 4F helping out on the Fartown Section to now get the 14. 40 went back to Leeds to Seacroft to keep reliability. I think it only lasted 3 years at most; I think it was October 2011 when the 40A was withdrawn and the 40 cut back - as far as I know both ran the route the 40 runs nowadays between Seacroft and Leeds, then extended up to Pudsey following the 72 route as far as Stanningley Fire Station where the 40A turned off and went to Swinnow (as the 14 does now) before heading straight up into Pudsey Bus Station. The 40 kept going at the Fire Station still following the 72 route and basically was a clone of the 91 route into Pudsey. I believe some journeys on both routes extended to Station Street/Carlisle Road at the top of Pudsey on both the 40 and 91. I don't know how accurate this is considering I was 6 when the 40A was withdrawn but I seem to remember it.

HJC did a brief 509 Todmorden - Leeds Bus Station and were run by MCW Metrobuses. A couple of journeys started from Portsmouth and they turned around at the lay-by about half a mile towards Burnley

125 I seem to remember Wakefield to Outwood Broadmeadows run by something like Yorkshire Buses (although I could think that because of the new Yorkshire Buses) they got pushed out by Arriva suddenly starting a similar service then stopping it after they killed off the competition

They really did. Portsmouth is a small village near the Lancashire/Yorkshire border. It even used to have a railway station. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portsmouth_(Lancs)_railway_stationAdditional shorts on the 589 used to turn there when First had competition between Halifax and Burnley from Yorkshire Blue. I would be interested to know how such a landlocked area got that name.

First Bus's 9S, that was supposed to replace First's route 9. 9S ran on weekdays mornings on school days, and ran between April 2023 and May 2023. Later discontinued due to Yorkshire Buses taking over First's 9

I do remember the short lived extension of the Huddersfield free town bus to waterhead quarter - lasted a few months to a year

X80 Halifax to White Rose via Elland & Brighouse with the return journey operating via Birstall IKEA. May 2011 - January 2012. Think this was also the case with the X8 Halifax to Leeds as they interworked.
