How far from Halifax is the Waterloo depot at Huddersfield?.
Only asking as T J Walsh used to serve Halifax and the surrounding area`s and from what i`ve read CT Plus appear to have been awarded or taken on some of the former TJ Walsh routes and were looking into finding a depot in Brighouse. So also with that in mind, is Brighouse closer to Halifax than Huddersfield?.
And yeh Transdev have now secured the Flying Tiger route`s from September 2020...Arriva didn`t want them anymore..But i do know that the people that run LBA arnt keen on decker`s at the airport due to people carrying suitcases...Which does make sense..So it`ll have to be where possible a single deck operation..

Hi there Stephen01,
Thanks ever so much for posting your message on here, it truly is awesome and real appreciated.
I`ve actually been in touch with Craig Temple CEO of Connexions Buses this month ( April 2020 ) and he told me that it had passed to a preservation group last September 2019.
So has anyone actually spotted this Volvo engined Alexander Royale bodied bus in the last few months, and if anyone from the preservation group who has this bus is reading this please would you let me know how its keeping.
Thanks in advance,
Bryan.

Hello to all..
I`m just putting this out there to see if anyone has seen/observed anything within the coach/bus operational circuit that`s a tad out of the ordinary?.
Also has anyone seen T663 VWU anywhere, its an old Volvo engine`d Alexander Royale bodied Olympian painted in the really old Huddersfield Bus Company livery of cream and red to commemorate 125 year`s of buses in Huddersfield...
So now its over to all you bus/coach friendly folk...
Best wishes, Bryan.

Hello to all,
I`m really sorry to bother everyone like this but i just wanted to post a question.
CT Plus Wakefield depot run the 113 contract service paid for by the NHS which runs between Pontefract hospital to Dewsbury hospital via Pinderfields hospital.
I was just wondering if CT plus were planning to run any extra buses on this contract to both utilise the buses they may have that are currently stood idle and also to enable the procedure of the 6ft self distancing rule.
I realise that extra buses does involve extra fuel and extra drivers pay but when you think about it if this is a closed contract between CT Plus and the NHS then surley it would make good sense.
If extra buses were used then the frequency could be for the short term increased and that would most definatley help with the social distance issue.
Best wishes, Bryan.

Hello to all.
I`m writing this to see if anyone out there in the Bus industry knows of any Bus operators that are happy to put someone through their CPC course if that person already holds their PCV licence?
I`ve had my PCV licence since 1992 and i`m currently unemployed. My CPC driver card expired in June 2019.
If anyone has any suggestions then i`d sure be happy to hear them.
Thanks in advance.
P.S i`m based in Altofts near Normanton and only a mile from junction 31 of the M62.

Hi there stephen01,
I have read the watersons website and definatley seen the part where it states that from Monday 14th of January 2020 it`ll be taking over operation of the 249 service due to the former operator going into receivership.
Also the Access bus drivers were told to take the solo`s to CT Plus depot after their duties sunday evening so as to begin operation Monday morning from Caldervale road, the accessbus drivers will keep their roles if they so wish all be it employed by CT Plus.
Granted there isn't anything on BL`s website or facebook or twitter page which is even more strange as I`ve been monitoring it for the last 24 hours or so.
Metro`s website does state that a new operator is now running the 249 from January 13th and that the timetable will remain the same with the new operator ( Waterson`s ).

Not really sure how to word this so please bear with me.
So today Tuesday 14th of January 2020 I read that the 249 service route formerly run by BL Travel is now operated by Watersons Coaches of Hemsworth, according to their website its due to BL Travel going into receivership. Also it would appear that the Metro Access bus contract that BL Travel held has now been passed over to CT Plus ( Wakefield Depot ).
The 223 service ceased last November apparently due to conflict of interest with Arrive Yorkshire and now this double whammy.
Its a real shame really as Brian Lockwood put many many hours into starting up his business and now its gone, or so were told or led to believe.
From what I can gather BL Travel still have the 2 full size capacity coaches and a relatively old one.
If anyone can shed any further light on this then that would be truly awesome.

I went past the BI HQ a few weeks ago and I saw the sign on the front for sale or lease and I`ve now seen on the web a few adverts with ariel view shots of the depot. So is the BI depot now totally closed or is it just the offices that have closed down?

Hi there Dimmock87.
Thanks so much for taking the time to add a post on the thread. I do know that there is a youngish bloke who wears the old green west riding raincoat and he seems to get on the 125 and 146 ross travel services around the Stanley ferry area which isn't far from me here in Altofts.
I`m actually hoping that anyone who has either company uniform and doesn't want it anymore would let me purchase it for my ongoing collection.

Hello to all,
I`m posting this to see if any former West Riding or Yorkshire Woollen bus drivers still have any of their old uniform left or if anyone out there in the bus industry has any of the old west riding or Yorkshire woollen bus uniform that they don't want anymore.
I`m also trying to collect uniform from as many of the old independants as I can.
The west riding was cream shirt with green logo and the jumper was green with gold logo and then the dust/summer jacket was green with gold/yellow logo and so was the smart blazer. The Yorkshire woollen uniform was burgundy jumper, burgundy summer jacket and blazer with yellow logo and their tie was burgundy too with Yorkshire buses on in yellow.
If anyone can help with this please reply as and when you can.
Thanks in advance, Bryan

I`m not 100% certain on this but someone I know and trust in the bus industry told me a week or so ago that the new Arriva Yorkshire Wakefield depot was going to be at the far end of Caldervale Road which is only across the calder from where their former HQ was and ironically its where CT Plus currently have their Wakefield depot.
Like I say I`m not totally certain and I`m only relaying what I got told.

Hello to all,
I`d like to ask if anyone knows of any bus company in the West Yorkshire area that may require a part time or full time depot operative to undertake all aspects of depot roles.
I have my PCV licence and my CPC card.
I am looking for fuelling/shunting/valeting and possibly vehicle changeover and driver meal relief or cover for sickness or leave.
I live in Altofts just by junction 31 of the M62.

Hello and good afternoon,
I`m Bryan, I`m 46 years old and a newcomer to these formus.
I have my all types PCV licence and my CPC card and am looking for a depot based role with any bus company in the Wakefield and 5 towns area.
I currently don't have transport but have good access to trains and bus links.
Currently I`m living in Altofts ( West Yorkshire ) its a small village between Normanton and Castleford, I`ve had my licence since I was 21 and the bus industry is basically all I know.
If anyone out there reads this and feels they may know of a bus or coach company that could use a hand in their depot would you please drop me a line.
I`m not able to drive buses on service due to me having a couple of convictions on my licence but am able to shunt buses/coaches in a depot/yard.
My last role was as depot operative with Stanley Gath at Castleford which sadly came to an end in July 2017, I did all sorts of things there, bits of driving on service, valeting, cover for sickness/leave and meal breaks, shunting, fuelling, taking buses for brake testing,MOT`s and other things including small bits of admin and helping the engineering department.
I really want to stay in the Bus and Coach industry if at all possible.
Thanks for reading.
Bryan
